In Portugal, The Dogma Of The Faith Will Always Be Preserved… IF?
In her Fourth Memoir (dated December 8, 1941), Sister Lucy copied the first two parts of the Fatima Secret word-for-word – including 
what appears to be the conclusion to the whole Secret:
In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me, and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.

Fatima scholars debate what that “etc” represents. What words follows that intriguing promise of Our Lady that in Portugal the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved? For a long time, I’ve expressed the view that an “if” follows the promise. “If the people cling to the traditional Faith and Mass …” (or the sense thereof) seems to me, to be the most likely “If”. I’ve never been to Portugal but on enquiring of friends who have been, I’ve noted that nobody enthused about the state of the Church there, and this reinforced my belief that Our Lady promised that the Faith would be preserved in Portugal (only) IF some condition or other is met.
The sad news from Portugal this week of the hundreds of priests abandoning their vocation to marry, further cemented my belief in the “IF” word. What do you think – is this a possibility? Or do you have your own theory about that “etc”?

Undoubtedly the Third Secret is conditional. As far as what, who knows? I think there will be both a spiritual and physical chastisement. And with Muslims praying in the Vatican palaces this Sunday, the Holy Feast of Pentecost, it may be quite sooner than we’d like.
Nobody wants a chastisement at all. Instead we should always desire mercy, especially for those who are tempted much, like so many in the hierarchy. Justice will come eventually. For some, their lives are a hell on earth. For others, they will experience hell when they die and are judged.
The Society priest last week preached on a number of topics. One of things he asked is why do good people suffer and why do evil men become astonishingly successful? And his answer was different – he said it was a punishment to evil men that they become successful. There they are blinded by wealth, power, ambition, greed, etc., and so by their sins become ever more enslaved.
So why does the Church of Christ, which cannot do evil, suffer? Well because She is going through the Passion of our Lord. Why did Christ suffer? Well because we are all so so sinful. Even the slightest venial sin is an abomination in the eyes of the Most Holy Trinity.
So our sins affect others in ways we cannot imagine. That is why our Lady at Fatima asked us to make reparation – which is to try to make up for the sins of others.

That’s a really interesting way of looking at why evil people succeed. That really is food for thought. It makes sense.
Fatima, the Third Secret and the Consecration of Russia has been sidelined deliberately. Pope John XXIII said that the Third Secret was not for this time. Sister Lucia was clear in saying that the Third Secret should be made public in 1960 or, after her death, whichever came first.

communism.
2. The Second Vatican Council, beginning during the reign of Pope John XXIII and continued by Pope Paul VI.
Since Vatican II, there have changes in the Liturgy. Father Paul Kramer has written a well documented book title ‘The Suicide of changing the Liturgy’. It is, or should be well known that – ‘As you pray, so you believe’.
So many other things have happened as though Catholic Doctrines and Teachings can be changed to suit what is going the world. The result is mass apostasy.
I agree with Thurifer, that there will be both a spiritual and physical chastisement. This for the want of Prelates who will not do as Our Lady requests.

I definitely agree that the words following on from “etc” are a condition of some kind. The dogma of the Faith would be preserved in Portugal if the Church there remained faithful to the Mass and Catechism. I don’t think it would make sense just to say that Portugal will keep the dogma of the Faith unless there was some kind of explanation given for it. That’s very sad about the hundreds of Portuguese priests leaving their vocation to marry.
I do think that the first sentence of the Third Secret will be conditional, definitely. “If” the Portuguese stick to the one true traditional Catholic faith, the dogma will always be preserved there.” It has to be something like that, definitely.
The sexualisation of priests has been one of the worst aspects of this whole crisis. It’s terrible to witness this apostasy at all but seeing the clergy fall in their hundreds as this report says, is just dreadful. God forgive them.
I completely agree about the conditional “if” – there has to be something that shows what it will take for Portugal to preserve the dogma of the faith. Either there was a mention of the Mass or a general statement about keeping to the Traditional faith. I wish the Vatican would release the entire Third Secret then we would know for sure.
It would make the most sense for the part of the secret following the etc. to be a condition. To think the dogma of the Faith would be preserved in Portugal, no matter what, would be like saying we are all going to heaven simply because we’ve been baptized.
It is very sad to hear of the priests abandoning their vocations, but not surprising. It is also very frustrating and disheartening because the means of changing this sad state of affairs – the restoration of the Church- is being hampered by the very ones whose duty it is to bring about this restoration.

That’s an excellent point. Can’t be that just because people are born/live in Portugal that the dogma of the Faith will be preserved there. Gotta be something more to it.
As regards unfaithful priests – yes, Auld Nick knows exactly what he’s doing. It’s just a pity that those tempted clergy can’t see it. I wonder how many of them later regret their “marriage”. I remember one former priest on a TV documentary telling his story. When a disabled child was born to them, she took off with someone else and he was faced with spending the rest of his days caring for his offspring. Very sad. I’m sure some of them must regret their wrong choice. God help them.
Since just over 80% of Portuguese claim to be Catholic and less than 20% attend Mass and the sacraments there obviously must be an If or a provided there.
