Vatican: Climate Change Is Man-Made (Ed: say that with a straight face…)

Cardinal Parolin“We all bear responsibility to protect and value creation for the good of future generations.”

The Vatican’s Secretary of State told the UN Climate Summit this week that climate change is man-made and man’s responsibility.

In his address on Tuesday, Cardinal Pietro Parolin said the international community has a moral responsibility to address climate change.

Referring to Pope Francis and Pope Benedict, Cardinal Parolin said, “the Holy See has often stressed that there is a moral imperative to act, for we all bear the responsibility to protect and to value creation for the good of this and future generations.”

“The scientific consensus is rather consistent and it is that, since the second half of the last century, warming of the climate system is unequivocal,” he stated.

“It is a very serious problem which, as I said, has grave consequences for the most vulnerable sectors of society and, clearly, for future generations,” the Vatican’s second in command warned.

“Numerous scientific studies, moreover, have emphasised that human inaction in the face of such a problem carries great risks and socioeconomic costs,” the Cardinal observed.

“This is due to the fact that its principal cause seems to be the increase of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere due to human activity.”

“Faced with these risks and costs, prudence must prevail, which requires thoughtful deliberations based on an accurate analysis of the impact our actions will have on the future.”

He said one of the principle elements to have emerged from the more than thirty years of study on the phenomenon of global warming is the increasing awareness that the entire international community is part of one interdependent human family.

“The decisions and behaviours of one of the members of this family have profound consequences for the others; there are no political frontiers, barriers or walls behind which we can hide to protect one member from another against the effects of global warming.”

POPEFranciswavingReferring to Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium, he said there was no room for the globalisation of indifference, the economy of exclusion or the throwaway culture.

“In the actions undertaken to counter global warming we have too often seen the predominance of special interests or so-called ‘free-riders’ over the common good; we have too often noted a certain suspicion or lack of trust on the part of States, as well as on the part of other participants,” Cardinal Parolin recognised.

He said if the international community really wishes to be effective, it must implement a “collective response based on a culture of solidarity, encounter and dialogue, which should be at the basis of normal interactions within every family and which requires the full, responsible and dedicated collaboration of all, according to their possibilities and circumstances.”

Cardinal Parolin warned that market forces alone, especially when deprived of a suitable ethical direction cannot resolve the interdependent crisis concerning global warming, poverty and exclusion.

“The greatest challenge lies in the sphere of human values and human dignity; questions which regard the human dignity of individuals and of peoples are not able to be reduced to mere technical problems.”   Source

Comment

Can it possibly be that neither Pope Francis nor Cardinal Parolin realise that the driving force behind the climate change scam is population control? Are they really that ignorant? Or are they merely (with all the respect due to their respective high offices, of course) merely useful idiots?

    Editor,

The myth of climate change is not just about population control, it’s also about money. Climate change is one very lucrative business, plenty of scope for Green taxes, fines and other levies. It’s multi billion dollar stuff and all the idiots fall for it. That’s what happens when God goes out of people’s lives; they suddenly become all fearful about the world they live in, thinking that they are the masters of all things.

In holier times it was accepted that the Creator takes care of His Creation through the ministration of the holy angels. Today they would say that people were gullible for believing these things.

Huh! are they seriously saying that the myths of the Big Bang, evolution and climate change are more credible than belief in God, whose existence can actually be proven in nature and by science. These Vaticanists who contribute to climate change are more to be pitied than scorned. Poor deluded souls!

I agree, Athanasius. What a money making load of non recycled garbage.

In fact, I love to mess things up for these Green monsters by adding the wrong things to each of these bins! That ruins the entire load and means they can’t be recycled. I also told my council to come and remove the recycling bin, telling them I am not a midden man and wouldn’t sift through my rotten garbage in the name of a man made myth!

Yes, the Greens are all about relieving hard working folk of their hard earned Green money. You have to hand it to them, though, it’s a clever scheme! Forget the O Zone, this business is burning an increasingly bigger hole in all our pockets!

Athanasius, you’ve said it all! “That’s what happens when God goes out of people’s lives”, they scurry around looking for ’causes’ to give their lives meaning.

A while ago, I had a discussion with an Al Gore follower who thought the slimy politician would save the world by his heroic efforts. When I asked her how it was that Gore could use more power than the entire town, in his mansion, use up precious earth resources to fuel his yacht, jet and fancy cars, while we were supposed to walk instead of using cars, I was told “he deserves it”! 😀

I wonder if the brilliant Vaticanists with Papa Francis at the head realize that except for global warming, the earth would still be locked in an ice-age. Now, if we could only get the Pope to comply with Our Lady’s wishes and consecrate Russia, he’d actually be saving souls and the earth!

      Jobstears,

      In a nutshell!

I liked the bit about Al Gore. I wonder if he’d be so keen a tree hugger if it meant he had to live like Fred Flintstone!

It occurs to me as I write that climate change could be the reason why many Catholic chapels are now populated with electric bulb votive candle stands. Maybe they have come to believe that the old wax candles were burning a second hole in the O Zone!

What strikes me is that we’re so worried about preserving the earth for future generations, when there probably won’t be any future generations unless Russia is consecrated! 😯

Oh how I agree with the comments of those already made here on this thread.

Quite some time ago on a previous thread, I think there was a reference made about the Georgia Guidestones, sometimes termed the American Stonehenge

    http://www.fatima.org/perspectives/nw/perspective605.asp

Erected in the State of Georgia, in the 1980s by a person or persons unknown and ultimately financed by them. There are 10 ideas maybe even laws, the first being keeping the world’s population no more than 500 million. Certainly New World Order stuff. I am curious as whether this ties in with the climate change/global warming of today.

One thing for sure is that Pope Francis and the Bishops would be far better consecrating Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

      Westminster Fly,

That’s really interesting about the link between Communism and climate change. So Russia has not been converted at all (not that I ever thought it was, but that’s what some people think, since they believe Pope John Paul II consecrated Russia and it was converted).

Thanks for that article – it was really interesting.

How anyone can continue to think that Russia has been consecrated is beyond me . . . 30 years on from the 1984 consecration and the world has gone from bad to worse. I’ve noticed that since the previously unreleased revelation from Sister Lucia of Fatima has been made public, http://www.fatimaperspectives.com/ts/perspective679.asp the Fatima revisionists seem to have gone very quiet. In any event, if what Sister Lucia saw actually happens, a few degrees of ‘global warming’ will be the least of our problems.

Out of interest, I was sent a booklet a while back, from the Carmel at Coimbra, where Sr Lucia lived, written by a Sister Maria Celina de Jesus Crucificado, OCD. Most of it is quite predictable, taking the Vatican party-line on the Third Secret. Regarding those who believe that the full Third Secret hasn’t been released, Sister Lucia is quoted in the booklet as saying: “Some people are never satisfied. Take no notice!” (page 24).

However, even in a booklet like this, which appears to have been written to conform to a certain agenda, I feel that Heaven has allowed something to be inadvertently revealed, which appears to contradict that which has been written before. On page 45, the following is stated:-

“It was in the year 2003, on 26th May. I went with her (Sister Lucia) to the lower choir in order to take a photograph of her with the image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary which had just been given to us. It is this photograph which has been used for the cover of this booklet. When I had taken the photograph, Sister Lucia continued to gaze at the Image. I did not disturb her. Then, turning to me, she said anxiously: “Our Lady is crying!!!” I think that, thanks to her extraordinary purity, her “ingenuousness”, she who had been the recipient of so many visions that no-one else had seen, thought at that moment that I, too, could see what she saw. And I, thinking that her statement was a question, said “No, she’s not”. I saw that she looked ‘caught out’, so to speak, like a child whose mother finds her stealing the jam! I said nothing. I thought that I should not ask any questions. I have not spoken of this incident until now. And I wished that that particular image should watch over her mortal remains with her motherly gaze until they were due to be taken to the Cathedral in Coimbra.”

If Our Lady knew that Her wishes had been fulfilled; that the Consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart had been accomplished, and that the full Third Secret had been revealed – why did She reveal Herself crying to Sister Lucia in 2003? Even among all the propaganda, the truth has a way of coming out . . .

These tears of Our Lady, witnessed by Sister Lucia, and unwittingly revealed by Sister Maria Celina de Jesus Crucificado, are surely yet another sign to humanity of the chastisements that are awaiting us if we don’t fully carry out Our Lady’s requests.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for people using the earth’s resources responsibly and sensibly. The expression “waste not want not” shouldn’t need to be repeated to anyone.

That said, I certainly agree that with the comments about the population controllers being at the centre of the whole “warm mongering” industry. How they have any credibility intact is beyond me. Well, it’s probably a very clear example of large scale mind control by the media and academia, amoral geopolitical interests, the work of powerful forces with dark antichrist agendas, with a fair bit of money grubbing careerism thrown in.

In the late 60s Paul Erhlich, author of The Population Bomb, was saying that population control was the only way to prevent global famine. Apparently the US wasn’t going to be spared either! All this nonsense hasn’t prevented him collecting a string of prestigious awards. Surprise, surprise. And, what about Green writer Alan Weisman calling for Americans to adopt a one child policy. Well, the fact that his book A World Without Us was a best seller, rather suggests that promoting crazy leftist groupthink isn’t a bar to literary commercial success.

When the Western World goes all soppy about polar bears, and sees babies as some sort of disease we really are dealing with a diabolical infestation.

And of course we had Gorbachev reinventing himself as an “environmentalist”, after Communism decided to change its spots. In fact, the whole global warming alarmism strikes me as a mixture of sinister global socialist power play, and wacky New Age cultdom. I suppose Gorbachev could be referred to as the elder watermelon. Green on the outside, red on the inside (credit to John Vennari of Catholic Family News for that one).

Five years there was a constant drum beat before the Copenhagen Conference that this was the last chance to save the planet from man made global warming. The talk then seemed to have been downplayed to climate change. The Warmists must reckon it’s safe to get Alarmist again. Hey, these people change like the weather. In the seventies, notwithstanding Erhlich’s control creepery, the scare was about a new Ice Age, I believe.

I can’t compete with others here on depth of knowledge of this subject, but one voice that seems to spike a lot of the madness, is that of Lord Christopher Monckton. There should be plenty of instructive videos on youtube.

Finally,I agree that if all these Warmist Alarmist Cult adherents really wanted to prevent world catastrophe they would be way, way better off praying the Rosary to achieve the Consecration of Russia.

      Leo,

I agree about Christopher Monckton – there are some good videos of him on YouTube, and he knows his stuff.

Above all I agree with your final paragraph. Roll on the Consecration of Russia.

Randy, your philosophy brings this quote to mind:

“Man,” said the Ghost, “if man you be in heart, not adamant, forbear that wicked cant until you have discovered What the surplus is, and Where it is. Will you decide what men shall live, what men shall die? It may be, that in the sight of Heaven, you are more worthless and less fit to live than millions like this poor man’s child. Oh God! to hear the Insect on the leaf pronouncing on the too much life among his hungry brothers in the dust!”

If President Obama is trying to do something about carbon reduction, why would he fly to Copenhagen – for the conference on global warming- in his private jet and have his wife follow two days later – in the presidential jet? It doesn’t make sense.

        Jobstears,

In the proverbial nutshell – well said. The sheer hypocrisy of these so called climate change experts is breath-taking. I remember once seeing an African woman filmed in her mud-hut home, while – as the documentary presenter explained – the “experts” held a conference a few miles down the road in a luxury hotel, debating all the “good” reasons why people like her shouldn’t be allowed electricity. Scandalous.

Something tells me that Randy isn’t open to an objective discussion on this subject. He’s been brainwashed by the ‘people are pollution’ crowd. Al Gore, in his private capacity, uses up a fair chunk of the 20% of resources that Randy quoted above !

    Randy,

Well, that has to be just about the most selfish statement I’ve ever read. It’s quite clear that you’re a kindly soul, eh???

Here’s some ‘food for thought’ – back in 2007, scientists reported evidence of global warming on Mars (see http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/02/070228-mars-warming.html).

Now, on Mars there are no SUVs, power stations or Martians that we know about, yet there is evidence of polar icecap melting. So, if the sun itself is heating up (as it does from time to time), all legislation aimed at tackling ‘man-made’ global warming is worse than useless.

Why has this been kept such a big secret?

    September 27, 2014 at 9:55 am
    • editor

      Pat,

I would say, at a wild guess, that this has been kept such a big secret because such absolute proof that humans are NOT to blame for whatever warming is going on (haven’t noticed myself up here in not so sunny Scotland!) would spoil the global warming party. Imagine the faces of the duplicitous politicians as they watched, in desperation, while their “Green taxes” disappeared down the drain 😯

      Pat McKay,

I’ve just read that article – it’s really interesting. For example,

“changes in the sun’s heat output can account for almost all the climate changes we see on both planets.

Mars and Earth, for instance, have experienced periodic ice ages throughout their histories.”

I must keep this up my sleeve for the next time I’m embroiled in a battle about “man made climate change” LOL!

      October 2, 2014 at 8:33 pm
      • Pat McKay

        Nicky,

Another thing you might keep up your sleeve. Surely there have been natural phenomena going on for thousands of years, e.g. volcanoes that spew tonnes of CO2, sulphur dioxide etc. into earth’s atmosphere.

As for places where crude oil would literally weep out of the ground, a lightning strike was all that was needed to ignite a fire that could burn for decades, to say nothing of forest fires from the same ignition source.

Are the doomsayers really trying to convince us that all this is ‘dwarfed’ by fossil fuel consumption by humans over the past few hundred years?

A few weeks before the Murphy Report concerning the handling of clerical abuse cases in the Archdiocese of Dublin was published in 2009, the Irish Bishops Conference issued “The Cry of the Earth- A Pastoral Reflection on Climate Change”: talk about misplaced priorities.

Anyway, here’s a little sample of the contents, to be skim read:

“Global climate change is one of the most critical issues of our time.”

“For followers of Jesus Christ, climate change raises urgent spiritual and moral concerns.”

“The implications of climate change for humanity and for our planet are so serious that we should take the warnings of science seriously and make changes to our behaviour.”

“We believe that the Holy Spirit, the “Lord and Giver of life”, is now inspiring people to dedicate themselves to “renew the face of the earth” by serving others in solidarity and by living a more just and sustainable lifestyle rooted in the principles of Catholic Social teaching.”

“As the bread and wine is transformed into the Body and Blood of Christ for our nourishment, we are also drawn into ever-deeper communion with the Blessed Trinity, with humanity, past and present, and with all God’s creation.”

“One of the great legacies of Francis (of Assisi, note no mention of his title of saint) is that he expanded the concept of “neighbour” to include not only the human race, but the whole of creation and all its creatures.”

“Time is running out. We need to act now for ourselves, for future generations and for the future of our planet.”

Under the section entitled “What Can Our Parish Do?”, we are told the following:

“Conduct an “Environmental Audit” of your parish. This might include:
    Establishing a group with responsibility for auditing current environmental practice;
    Drawing up an environmental policy;
Monitoring targets and promoting good practice in the parish.”

“Join with Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CBTI) each year in celebrating the “Creation Time” in initiative.”
“Enrol in the Eco-Congregation Ireland environmental programme for Churches.”
“Include the theme of care for God’s creation in homilies, prayers of the faithful and examinations of conscience.”
“Use recycled and recyclable materials wherever possible: For example:
    Refrain from using disposable plastic cups and other utensils at parish functions;
    Use recyclable shrine candles. Ask your supplier to provide them;
Use more of your page when typing letters or other documents. Review the default margin settings on your computer software to use more of the page.”

I think everyone will have had enough by now. Is anybody else thinking pantheism, naturalism, immanentism? Remember this was the Bishops Conference of Ireland speaking. So much for Collegiality. These men are the successors of the Apostles in Ireland.

At the time of the above was written, we had apostasy affecting nearly every family in the land, the aftermath of an appalling series of abuse scandals, open and unfettered dissent amongst a large section of the clergy, ever decreasing religious observance, plummeting priestly and religious vocations, dire catechesis and religious knowledge among the vast majority of the population, rejection of the Ten Commandments and Church teaching, withdrawal of the Church from Education and Health provision, constant attack by a virulently anti-Catholic media. Since then we have had the legalizing of the butchering of unborn children, attempted state usurpation of the role of parents, and the constant promotion of sodomy by the minions of lucifer. Saving all those oh so friendly polar bears can, I think, be put on the back burner.

I couldn’t help laughing at some of the stuff I was reading- recyclable shrine candles and default margin settings. Some of the rest is just plain disturbing, or worse. No elaboration needed.

Neither could I avoid the thought that this was scrupulosity for New Age tree-huggers.

“Examinations of conscience”- Puh-leaze, Your Lordships.

      Leo,

It is just beyond belief that any Catholic let alone the Irish Bishops Conference would actually publish those recommendations.
