Priest On ‘The Francis Effect’…
Father Linus Clovis is addressing a group of pro-lifers on May 8, 2015, meeting to discuss the crisis in the Church ahead of the forthcoming Synod on the Family. It is refreshing to see a priest speaking out without apology, sourcing Tradition to defend his objective criticisms of the state of the Church and the Pope at this time. Father Clovis, we are pleased to record, has been on the Catholic Truth newsletter mailing list for a number of years. We’ve never met or corresponded with him but we have made a note on our “to do” list to contact him with our congratulations on “coming out” to speak clearly in the context of “The Francis Effect” – that is, the disastrous effect on the Church of many of the current pontiff’s utterances and actions.
Thanks to Gloria TV for help in making this video available on our blog – and for their outstanding work in the Catholic media during the current crisis in the Church. . .

DominieMary,
Sorry, I don’t have an email address for him but I’ve emailed the Population Research place to ask them if they could send us one. Will let you know if and when they reply.
Dear Editor
I assume when you say “you” in your reply to DominieMary that you mean us all – as I too wish to write to Fr Clovis to thank him for his inspiring stand. If only we had more like him. Thanks so much for posting this – it’s raised my spirits.
At last, a priest with some backbone! I Googled to see what else I could find out about Fr Clovis and he is pro-the traditional Mass, and self taught himself when Summorum Pontificum came out.

I hope he is not persecuted for speaking out as he has done so very well.
That’s a fantastic video – I’ve already sent the link to one priest I know.
Pope Francis .. I believe that three children per family, from what the experts say, is the key number for sustaining the population… Sorry, some people think that in order to be good Catholics we have to breed like rabbits, right?
The Francis effect.

Summa, thanks for that, but although there’s an address and phone number for the presbytery, there’s no email address. Keep digging, Sherlock!
Ed, well I think I saw this on Summa’s link: e-mail: purify@candw.lc
But for heaven’s sake don’t take my word for it – I’m a famous computer-illiterate.
Thanks Christina, I’ve missed that, obviously. Let us know if you receive any reply and I, for one, will follow your good example.
What a direct and honest appraisal by Fr Clovis.
I am very uplifted by this, it is very refreshing indeed. May his good example inspire other priests to speak out similarly.
Yes indeed. I have just sent him an email, for I greatly fear for him and for all true ànd brave priests when the snarling wolf pack decides to hunt them down. He has great need of our prayers.
I’ve just tried to e-mail Fr Clovis and it was returned undeliverable. Christina – did you have any better luck?
No, Therese, I didn’t. It came back undeliverable and the reason given that this email address does not exist. Hmmm.
And my email to the Population Research Centre hasn’t brought forth a reply. I wonder if it would be possible to trace him through one of the pro-life groups. Clothilde, you being a very active pro-lifer, may have a source?
That was a fantastic talk by Fr Clovis. I know he is a very active pro-lifer to I’m not too surprised. I just hope he isn’t sent out to the sticks for speaking out. That’s what usually happens to the good priests.
In 2011 Fr Clovis was parish priest at the church of the Most Pure Heart of Mary, Bexon, Castries, St Lucia. I’ll write to that address.
I will gladly email Fr Clovis, too. That was a very good talk and should be very useful for those who still have qualms about entertaining the notion that what Francis the humble is doing is wrong, very wrong.
Good News!
I’ve just had a reply from the Population Research Institute, from a lady called Anne Morse who says to send all letters to her and she will forward them to Father Clovis.

I have received a nice email reply from Fr Linus Clovis. I post it here (Ed, I thin that should be ok?) so that we all can pray for him to continue his Apostolate and that, especially on this day of Pentecost that the Holy Ghost fills this good priest with Fortitude so sustain him.
Dear xxxx (Summa),
I am very appreciative of your kind and supportive email regarding the talk I gave on the Francis Effect in Rome. Please do keep me in your prayers and let us support all who are working genuinely for the salvation of souls.
Yours in the Immaculate
Fr. Linus F Clovis
