Summa Thanks. When Pope Urban VII first heard this. he wept and ordered that it was only to be sung in the Sistine Chapel, only on certain Feast days, and and never to be sung by any choir elsewhere on pain of excommunication,

Happy Easter again, everyone – for those of you who may have noticed I was missing at Mass in Glasgow today, note that I was NOT missing in Edinburgh, because their Mass is at 1pm and by the time I realised I’d forgotten that the clocks had changed, I was too late to get to Glasgow, so headed for the capital city, lucky capital city. Couldn’t believe it. I NEVER see this change of time advertised, and usually someone mentions it the day before which alerts me. I’m going to have to “gerragrip” before the clocks go back again in the autumn.

Anyway, just this minute back from Edinburgh, where, as ever, we were given a lovely, royal welcome.

I’m glad to hear you are all so happy about this Easter and, btw, I wish you all a blessed Eastertide. We are visiting family in the Northern Isles for Easter and what a miserable time, liturgically, we are having. The ceremonies are sooo bad and Protestantised that we didn’t go to most of it; instead we read the liturgy at home. The priest doesn’t even wear a Roman collar! My goodness, it’s a spiritual desert up here!

    Helen,

I feel for you, not having the beautiful ancient ceremonies of the Church at Easter. The enemies within have certainly done their job these past 60 post-conciliar years. But never mind, they’re always handy if you need good soical workers.

Thank you for those videos. We sang “Jesus Christ is Risen Today” at the end of Mass in Edinburgh – lovely.

I’m off to visit your blog now – hope others will follow suit. You are so good at popping in here and I feel guilty at not being similarly neighbourly more often – not by choice, be assured, just the “don’t know where the time goes” thing 😀

Thank you – I had just posted the news on the General Discussion thread when I saw it here and deleted my own – it’s perfectly OK to post here. Will go off now and read your tribute.

I was greatly saddenend to learn of the passing of Mother Angelica, though happy to hear that it was providentially on Easter Sunday. I am quite certain that Mother Angelica was taken straight to heaven by Our Lord. She loved Him dearly, especially in His Eucharistic Presence, and trusted in Him with the trust of a child. She will be very sorely missed. Another holy soul departs this troubled world for their eternal reward. May she rest in peace.
