Church Militant aka Soldiers of Christ…

RICHMOND, Virginia, August 29, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) — Roughly a dozen pro-life activists protested Sunday outside of pro-abortion, pro-homosexuality Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Sen. Tim Kaine’s Catholic parish: Catholics protest at Tim Kaine’s parish: If priest won’t ‘instruct parishioners’ on Church teaching, we will

“Sen. Kaine has failed in his duty as a Catholic public servant to defend the preborn and Fr. Arsenault has failed in his duty as pastor to admonish Sen. Kaine and to instruct the rest of his congregation on the teachings of the Catholic Church regarding the sanctity of human life,” Virginia pro-life activist Maggie Egger told LifeSiteNews in an email.

“I, along with a group of Catholics from various parishes around the Diocese of Richmond, went to St. Elizabeth’s yesterday to do what Sen. Kaine and Fr. Arsenault will not: defend our preborn brethren by exposing abortion as the decapitation and dismemberment of tiny human beings, instruct the parishioners of St. Elizabeth’s on the teachings of the Church, and inform them that Sen. Kaine publicly supports the decapitation and dismemberment of tiny human beings under the guise of being ‘personally pro-life,’” Egger said.

Kaine’s parish, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, gave him a standing ovation at Mass after he became Hillary Clinton’s running mate. His pastor, Father Jim Arsenault, praised Kaine in an NPR interview.

“I know that he’s definitely against capital punishment and works to help defend those who are on death row,” Arsenault said. “The church has a teaching with regard to we’re pro-life, and we believe in that seamless garment of life. We respect sometimes lawmakers make difficult decisions.” Arsenault was commenting on how as governor of Virginia, Kaine oversaw several executions. The priest told NPR that he thought the issues most important to Kaine were women’s pay and “social justice issues.”

Frances Bouton, one of the event’s organizers, told LifeSiteNews that the protest didn’t disrupt Mass and the pro-life activists felt St. Elizabeth’s was an appropriate venue to protest given it was where Kaine was praised so heavily after becoming the Democratic vice presidential candidate. She said the protestors waited until the 9 a.m. Mass had begun and latecomers had arrived before setting up outside the church.

Most of the people at the Mass saw the anti-Kaine signs outside St. Elizabeth’s when Mass was over, Bouton said, but none of them spoke to the protestors.

“We understand that the priest had told his parishioners … not to talk to the media. We don’t know whether that also included … us,” she said.

“There were some people who stood at the top of the stairs and spent time reading our signs” after Mass, Bouton said. “Some of them took a long time to read the signs.”

The protestors’ message to St. Elizabeth’s was “by honoring Tim Kaine you are supporting all that he supports,” Bouton said.

Kaine touts his Catholic faith and Jesuit education but supports abortion and same-sex “marriage.” As governor of Virginia, Kaine opposed partial-birth abortion and authorized the state’s “Choose Life” license plate option. Nevertheless, “I don’t think ultimately we ought to be criminalizing abortion,” he said at the time, and maintained his support for abortion as governor.

But once he became a U.S. Senator, the role of Kaine’s “personally pro-life” views in his politics became nonexistent.

Planned Parenthood gives him a 100 percent rating for his time in the Senate, when he has supported the abortion giant. NARAL Pro-Choice America also gives him a 100 percent for his time in the Senate. Kaine co-sponsored the Women’s Health Protection Act, a bill to undermine pro-life laws across the country.

Upon announcing Kaine as Hillary Clinton’s vice presidential candidate, the Clinton campaign immediately said Kaine had decided to support taxpayer-funded abortion in order to assume that role. Several days later, Kaine denied doing so

Kaine said he has become “comfortable with the notion that I can have my personal views but I’m going to support the president of the United States — and I will.”

“In this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Catholics and people of good will are called to perform acts of mercy,” the protestors said in a press release. “In the Catholic Church, we are given specific corporal and spiritual works of mercy — seven of each.  The corporal works include feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and burying the dead.  But it is two spiritual works of mercy [that] we hope to perform in front of St. Elizabeth’s Church — admonishing the sinner and instructing the ignorant.”

There are a lot of “low-information Catholics” who “just haven’t been [properly] catechized,” Bouton said, and when “they don’t see bishops” calling out pro-abortion politicians, they are led to believe one can separate faith and public actions as a politician. “In this particular circumstance,” it’s a scandal that Kaine’s priest is praising him, Bouton said, and this can lead to further confusion.

Richmond Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo has said Catholics have a duty to determine their worthiness to receive Holy Communion “through an upright and informed conscience.” He has not ordered priests in his diocese to stop admitting Kaine to Holy Communion.

Canon 915 of the Catholic Church’s Code of Canon Law instructs that those “persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.”

“No parishioners talked to us … a few took pictures,” Egger said. “And when Fr. Arsenault was asked a question on his way past us to the rectory, he wouldn’t even look up at us.”  Click here to read the original Lifesitenews report with more photos of the group…

Comment:

WOW!  Now, those are Catholics, Confirmed Soldiers of Christ!

Shouldn’t we be doing this sort of thing in Scotland and the wider UK? We’ve tried the letter-writing, we’ve tried petitions to enforce Canon 915, we’ve done the hand-wringing all round; nothing has worked. Would direct action make any difference – didn’t seem to make any difference to the priest in the above parish or his parishioners, let alone the bishop. Dead consciences. Still, it is, is it not, the sort of “in your face” militancy that just might hit home on our turf, if only because the clergy and hierarchy hate adverse publicity.  To be exposed as negligent, with “Canon 915” screaming forth from posters, just might have an impact.  Certainly, on the few occasions when we have publicly gathered a few faithful to protest (e.g. when St Patrick’s church in Glasgow was handed over to Buddhists for a concert) we felt that, at least, we had alerted those with open minds and hearts to the scandalous nature of the event.

Time to do more of this, perhaps close to elections – to name and shame the pro-abortion “Catholic” MPs/MSPs?

Ideally, of course, it shouldn’t be left to us; we would be happy to follow the lead of the pro-life groups but they tend not to like this sort of thing.  A tad distasteful, although not half as distasteful as the sight of a murdered baby in a stainless steel dish, or the sight of the “Catholic” legislators responsible lining up in the Communion queue on Sundays.

So, ought we to consider following the example of these American cousins of ours? What thinkest thou, folks?

    That’s why I love Americans.

Should we attempt the same? Hey, I’m up for it, but I doubt very much whether it will do any good; we’d probably end up arrested as fundamentalist haters (that’s if we can identify a “Catholic” MP who goes to Mass and who has failed to defend the unborn. There’s Tony Blair, I suppose, if he still goes to Mass..). I spent much time visiting churches to “educate” the laity about the nature of abortion – graphic pictures and stories, to absolutely NO avail. As far as my memory serves me, we did not receive ONE volunteer, and several “faithful” walked past one of the many petitions SPUC organised back in the day; they wouldn’t even sign their name. True, many gave money in the organised collections, but that’s as far as it went, and still goes. Of course the situation is far worse now than it was all those years ago. “Dead consciences” is right.

Maybe I’m being overly pessimistic; I just don’t think that the situation is one of “low information Catholics”, but rather “don’t care enough, not my problem, and maybe I’d do the same in certain circumstances” Catholics.

    Madame Editor,

What is needed in circumstances like this is, in a phrase, coordinated action. Reflect on Fr. Wiltgen’s book The Rhine flows into the Tiber about how a small group of Modernists managed by coordinated action to hijack the agenda for the Second Vatican Council with such effective and devastating results.

Fr. Karl Stehlin has resurrected St. Maximilian’s Militia Immaculatae to build up a worldwide Army for Our Lady (already numbering over 15,000) to vanquish heresy and to crush the head of Satan. A branch of the M.I. Has been launched in GB and the more people who enrol, the better the chances of success against the apathy and ignorance which have led to the poor state of the Catholic Church in this country, indeed, throughout the world.

My recent post on the General Thread #12 lists a number of opportunities to enrol and I urge fellow bloggers and lurkers to be there and sign up.

One of the options available to an enrolled Knight is to submit prayer requests to the moderators who will put them before a group of Prayer Crusaders and I am told that many such requests have been granted by the grace of God through Mary, Mediatrix of all graces.

I hope that many of the faithful reading these words will enrol at the upcoming ceremonies and that we shall see what fruits are born as a result.

      Leprechaun,

Do you suggest this instead of some kind of militant Catholic Action similar to the above American action, or as well as?

You are very diligent in promoting this devotion and that is good, but we’d also be interested in your views on the various topics – in this case, the militant form of Catholic Action carried out by our American friends, aimed at preventing the abuse of the Sacraments, in line with Canon 915.

Prayer, as we have said repeatedly on this blog, is elementary. The various devotions, including the “Knights” one which you so enthusiastically promote, are not to be used as an excuse to DO nothing. So, I’m hoping that you are NOT suggesting this devotion instead of Catholic Action but that you have just not specified that you are, of course, keen to see the politicians, clergy and bishops who defy Canon 915 brought – in some way or other – to book.

I look forward to your clarification, with thanks, again, for reminding us about the Militia Immaculatae

    Madame Editor,

I suggest it as well as. I was not suggesting that prayer alone is all that is required.

Incidentally, being a Knight of the Militia Immaculatae is not a devotion as you call it, it is a way of life requiring Total Consecration to Mary.

Catholics in name only (CINOs) need not bestir themselves.

Bringing people to book requires weight of numbers and that is why Fr. Stehlin is aiming to have 100,000 Knights on the battlefield in time for the 100th Anniversary of the launch of the original M.I. in 1917. Let us not be tardy in answering his call to arms.

That the greater number of Catholics in this parish applauded the Senator in question in the church, in front of the Blessed Sacrament, is testament to the lost faith in that parish. That only a mere handful of Catholics out of all those parishioners have a true sense of the moral law, is testament to the lost faith in that parish. Those protestors will get their reward from Our Lord in the next life, but they will not convert that parish. They will simply be written off as a small crowd of nutters. We need to understand that it has gone beyond ignorance to general indifference/apostasy. A majority of bishops, priests and laity today just couldn’t care less about the soul. It’s all about friendship with the world. If the Senator in question was a part time Satanist the majority would still be applauding him. They simply no longer care.

      Athanasius,

Everything you say is true, and in human terms, it is a total waste of time to do this sort of militant action.

The Legion of Mary has a principle of “symbolic action” – an event of Catholic action that is not so much intended to “succeed” as to win grace; a kind of token action.

I think that’s what we were doing outside St Patrick’s if you recall, and being written off as a bunch of nutters… well, nothing new there. That’s what they say about us anyway!

Just as a bit of background, this sleazy politician Tim Kaine was a very shrewd choice by Billary Clinton, because she knows she can’t win without the Catholic vote – and in America, the Catholic vote has been largely in the pocket of the Democratic Party for decades, despite having embraced every perversion and spiritual crime known to man, and despite its known intimate association with the Communist Party USA and the Socialist Party of America. Obama also knew he couldn’t win without the same vote, and so he relied on his numerous connections in the Archdiocese of Chicago (which paid for his Saul Alinsky training) and the USCCB to secure that vote. As an added bonus, he received a boost from buffoons like Cardinal Dolan of New York City, who was photographed yukking it up with Obama at the annual Al Smith Dinner (a big Catholic fundraiser) at least twice.

That said, I can’t tell Scottish Catholics what to do (much less tell American Catholics what to do!), but I think this in-your-face Catholic Action is very appropriate, including processions, Masses of reparation, Holy Hours, etc. Not only appropriate, but desperately needed! And if you’re arrested, so much the better! (Easy for me to say…) I further suggest that the UK District of the SSPX lead some of this action.

I also noted this spineless priest hiding behind the “seamless garment of life” excuse, handily provided for liberal/progressive CINOs by the homosexual satanist Cardinal Bernardin. The clergy of the “mainstream” Church is full of these Judases…and now their boss is one of them…

      RCA Victor,

Thank you for that background and for your exhortation to us to do the same. We’ll certainly be getting our researchers to uncover the parishes of the notorious pro-abortion politicians at the next General Election (which is some way off right now, as far as we know… Phew!) – at least, those politicians who claim to be practising – and give serious consideration to creating those “Canon 915” posters. If we end up in the back of a police van… well… we could chalk it up to experience (and remember, it would be an “experience” for the cops as well) 😉

        Editor,

As for being ridiculed for defending the Faith, Our Lord and Our Lady, I believe that is one of our highest callings. I’m not in the habit of quoting Scripture, but this passage from 1 Corinthians 4 comes to mind:

We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are honourable, but we without honour. Even unto this hour we both hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no fixed abode; And we labour, working with our own hands: we are reviled, and we bless; we are persecuted, and we suffer it. We are blasphemed, and we entreat; we are made as the refuse of this world, the offscouring of all even until now.

    Madame Editor,

Permit me please to quote an extract from a contributor to this week’s letter from Fr. Karl Stehlin to those who have joined his Prayer Crusaders to whom I referred in yesterday’s post. It is an example of the Knights of the Militia Immaculatae in action in Oklahoma USA and is thoroughly relevant to this thread:

On a brighter note, I would like to update a result of our prayers against the black mass in Oklahoma. Our good Father McDonald informed us at Mass last Sunday the following update: The organizer complained “How do you expect me to sell any tickets when there’s an entire Roman Legion outside in protest!”. There were about 500+ people, most of whom were SSPX protesting his desecration of Our Lady. Thanks be to God for all of the prayers!!!

Catholics in action! Enrol in the Militia Immaculatae.

I agree that the American group is inspiring and moving. What brave souls!

I also agree that the pro-life groups should be organising this sort of thing here – but they’re not likely to. They tend to go in for safe events such as the prayer vigils this year.

    • editor

      MM,

Too true. At one of the prayer vigils that I attended, one young man (someone thought he was one of the doctors from the hospital across the road from where we were standing praying) spoke to us, telling us we were bad people, should go home etc. and when I (eventually) said a few words in response, beginning to answer him, the SPUC lady in charge shooed me quiet saying just to keep on praying. I felt like telling her that if she shooed me again, SHE’D better start praying, but I thought better of it – she was a nice lady, really 😀

I knew that silent prayer was the policy, and I only showed signs of breaking the rule after quite a few minutes of listening to his nasty rant, in the hope of educating him a little, but that wasn’t allowed. At the time, I thought there ought to have been a table with literature and personnel to discuss, if required, with passers-by, but I think SPUC tends to be nervous of debate. I doubt very much, then, that they will be organising any protests outside the parishes of pro-abortion politicians. Still, one can always live in hope, if not faith and charity 😀

        Madame Editor,

It is very sad that you were discouraged (by one of your own side, no less) from educating the doctor who wanted you to disperse and go home.

There is a Pro-life group which holds meetings outside an Abortion Clinic in Ealing , London – details below:

        http://fsspx.uk/en/ol-guadalupe-st-gerard-majella-pro-life-group

On this page you will clearly see where Bro. Columb Maria says:

We engage in discourses with any members of the public who wish to do so, be they customers of the clinic or otherwise. Leaflets are given out too, amongst which are . . . (list of hyperlinked resources).

Those of the faithful who live within reach of Ealing please take note in case you are able to lend support.

Look at this – Papa Francis urging voters to keep on the backs of their governments to make sure they keep to the Paris deal on climate change… is he exhorting Catholics in the USA to get onto their politicians about abortion/transgenderism and all the other daft “isms” during their (current) election campaign?

This pontificate is just too incredible for words. I keep picturing future historians reading and re-reading everything they can lay their hands on about this pope, with sheer disbelief all over their astonished faces.

Jesuit madness…and if he isn’t exhorting us American Catholics to get on the green bandwagon, I’m sure George Soros will be funding several “Catholic” groups to militate for that goal.

At any rate, in the unlikely event that Francis is reading this, I’d like him to know that the only green agenda I intend to follow is liturgical green, during the Time After Pentecost. That’s because, unlike him, I’m Catholic.

      Theresa Rose,

He had better get a move on then, as I note he has just had his 86th birthday. I wonder if he ever looks over his shoulder at Old Father Time making his relentless pursuit?

He is a very astute man, but I wonder if he realises just how astute, given that this is one of his quotations:

Once we realize that imperfect understanding is the human condition there is no shame in being wrong, only in failing to correct our mistakes.

In charity, I hope that he is given sufficient time to follow his own advice and to correct his mistakes. His $24billion net worth won’t all fit into the pocket of his shroud, and it could certainly help the Traditional Catholic Church along the way!

Jayne Alice Lutwyche Yes please. I called C2C they put me in touch with Paul Williams who said they didn’t have a licence. But then the council’s social media team said they did. I did a bit of digging and they did have a licence in 2014 – issued under delegated powers. Spoke to Cllr Ed Bridges who used to be on the licencing committee – he said it shouldn’t have been signed off under delegated powers. I think, if we put pressure on the council we can prevent them getting street collection permission in the future. Also this lady broke pretty much every rule in the fundraisers rule book.

Eleanor Hill Yes, it looks like that but I understood info should be posted on the Council website (https://www.cardiff.gov.uk/…/Register%20of…) I think there’s not much we can do to stop them doing charitable collections but can keep an eye on the materials they use and make sure they stick to the letter of the law. Could also petition for a stipulation that no collections can take place within x many yards of the clinic? Worth a try maybe.

Anwen Kya Hayward To whom it may concern,

I am writing to complain about the council’s decision to grant a collection license to the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC).

As a woman and a Cardiff resident, this decision is very concerning, not least because of the SPUC’s history of unacceptable and threatening public behaviour. The SPUC has a lengthy history of intentionally establishing their ‘collection’ points in areas where abortion services are located, harassing women who are discussing or seeking abortions / abortion advice in the area. Particularly during their ’40 Days for Life’, which lasts the entire duration of Lent, they are frequently found holding protests on St Mary Street, near the entrance to an abortion service. During these protests, the SPUC have been commonly reported for harassing women. This harassment has predominantly taken the form of verbally attacking women for ‘murdering their babies’, which is an absolutely unacceptable accusation to make in a country in which abortion is a legal choice.

The reason that the recent license granted to the SPUC was brought to my attention is the fact that they are now ‘collecting’ near the entrance to Cardiff Market on St Mary Street, in the same location where they hold their protests. As I am sure you can appreciate, this is incredibly concerning. The council has essentially granted the SPUC a license to continue to harass women with council permission by allowing them to continue their activities in this area, near abortion services.

When questioned (via Twitter) as to why this license was granted, your representative said that it was because the council cannot be biased and must thus consider all applications for collection licenses. I understand this, and am in no way suggesting that the SPUC’s application should not have been considered; I recognise that this would be in contravention of impartiality. I am, however, suggesting that the decision to grant this license was not made with a full consideration of how the SPUC might use this collection license to further their agenda of stopping women in the street and making accusations of child murder.

I am incredibly disheartened that the council believes that the best way to remain unbiased in this situation is to simply grant the SPUC a collection license. In my view, this is an example of bias, as this action has permitted the SPUC to further their own political agenda to intimidate women who seek abortions in the area and to try and restrict women’s access to reproductive agency. In doing so, the council has prioritised the SPUC’s right to charitable collection over women’s rights to legally access abortions. This, to me, is a poor example of remaining unbiased.

I would draw your attention to points 8 and 9 of your own Regulations with Regards to Street Collections, which SPUC has consistently proven to violate:

    8. No collection shall be made in a manner likely to inconvenience or annoy any person.
    9. No collector shall importune any person to the annoyance of such person.

I would like to urgently request that this license is reviewed, and ask that at the very least the SPUC are banned from ‘collecting’ near the entrance to abortion services, for the safety of all the people who are legally entitled to access those services.

I would also like to enquire as to why this license does not appear on the Register of Forthcoming Charitable Collections available from your gov.uk website.

I look forward to your reply.

    Regards,

    Anwen

      Wendy Walker,

SPUC are spineless. They won’t get lawyers onto anything. They are very weak. I think that’s very clear by now. They’re fine on praying outside abortion clinics and hospitals but that’s about it. Even then, they agree to stand where they won’t really be seen – LOL!

      Pat McKay,

You are right – choosing to engage in intimacy should mean being prepared to accept the consequences.

There’s talk of denying “non emergency” operations in the NHS to obese people and smokers, and probably others with “self-inflicted” illnesses. No mention, though, of those who want abortions or treatment for STD’s and you don’t really GET more “self-inflicted illnesses” than those!

John Vennari has posted a typically thorough, scholarly and well-thought-out analysis of the new Canonization process: http://www.cfnews.org/page88/files/f2dd6c653a57bc7be943e503d639aef7-209.html

thus continuing the fulfillment of his Catholic Militant duty: to warn his fellow Catholics of scandal, error, and pertinacious heresy (esp. since the vast majority of his fellow Catholics are not nearly as well-informed as is he!)

NB: amongst many modern Catholics, to rise to the occasion by exposing the errors of Modernist clergy is the equivalent of Protestant “private judgment.” According to these people, with whom I have some experience, since Our Lord promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church, all we have to do is sit back and pray and not worry about it. But what about all the souls who will be lost by following the wolves? Hey, no problem!

I often wonder why such people even bother to get out of bed in the morning, or eat, or shave and shower – since we’ll all be in the grave sooner or later….

      RCA Victor,

That’s an excellent article by John Vennari. In fact, it’s so good, I wish I’d posted it as a separate thread on the canonisation of Mother Teresa. I’m still feeling wabbit – who’d think a cold could be so exhausting? Anyway, thank you for posting that article – I recommend it to all bloggers, as there’s no shortage of discussion material in there. This, for example…

“In the new system, the Devil’s Advocate has been eliminated. The “Promoter of the Faith,” as the Devil’s Advocate has been called, is given the new title “Prelate Theologian.” His main task is to choose the theological consulters and preside at the meetings.

Catholic journalist Kenneth L. Woodward spotlights the root difference between the old and new systems: “At the core of the reform is a striking paradigm shift: no longer would the Church look to the courtroom as its model for arriving at the truth of a saint’s life; instead, it would employ the academic model of researching and writing a doctoral dissertation.”

Woodward continues, “In effect, then, the relator had replaced both the Devil’s Advocate and the defense lawyer. He alone was responsible for establishing martyrdom or heroic virtue, and it was up to the theological and historical consultants to give his work a passing or failing grade.”[10]

Though there may have been some abuses by the lawyers over the centuries, the elimination of lawyers radically transforms the procedure that had been at the heart of the saint-making process for half a millennium: a system deemed necessary by the great master of ascetical and mystical theology, Pope Benedict XIV (1740-58) in his monumental work, The Beatification and Canonization of Saints.[11]

Though many in the post-Conciliar Vatican welcomed John Paul II’s new method, not all were thrilled. Msgr. Luigi Porsi, a 20-year veteran of the Church legal system, decried the elimination of the Devil’s Advocate and the accompanying lawyers as part of the beatification process. In an unanswered letter to Pope John Paul II, Porsi complained the reform went too far: “There is no longer any room for an adversarial function.”[12]

Thus a central question arises: if there is a radical change in what was the rigorous procedure for making saints, how can we expect the same secure results?

Indeed, the fast-track beatifications of the past few decades already introduce doubt to the integrity of the process. The two cases that first come to mind are that of Mother Teresa of Calcutta and Opus Dei Founder Josemaria Escriva de Balaguer.”…

I hope I haven’t missed this on another posting – but will take my punishment if I have – I felt it was too important not to post, from Torch of the Faith:

We ask our readers to please join in praying for Anthony Murphy and his family at this time. Mr. Murphy will be known to many readers as the editor of the Irish Catholic newspaper, Catholic Voice. Sadly, Mr. Murphy and his family are at the receiving end of some severe persecution at this time. Indeed, Mr. Murphy has even received a death threat.

The Story As It Has Happened

Mr. Murphy is a member of St. Michael’s parish in the town of Athy, Co. Kildare, in Ireland.

Earlier this year, two women in the parish announced their plans to enter into a so-called same-sex ”marriage” pairing. They handed out invitations after choir practice one day. This public contradiciton of the Catholic Faith was exacerbated by the fact that the women were Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and leaders of both the adult and children’s choirs at the parish.

Anthony Murphy was understandably concerned about this and contacted his parish priest about these women having such a prominent role in parish life, whilst they were so clearly contravening the clear teachings of Christ’s Church.

Sad to relate, it seems that Mr. Murphy did not receive a very helpful response from his parish priest. In fact, Mr. Murphy says that the priest sees nothing wrong with two active lesbians running the choir and acting as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. He was even content for them to hand out their invitations in the church after the choir practice…

After the two women, Jacinta O’Donnell and Geraldine Flanagan, publicly contracted this arrangement, they did resign from the lay Dominicans. Mr. Murphy then texted his fellow parishioners to ask that they also consider their positions in the local parish. With consistent logic and faithfulness to Christ’s teachings, Anthony reminded the ladies that failure to resign from their positions in the parish would be both ”a contradiction and hypocrisy.”

The ladies did subsequently resign from their positions at the parish.

However, Mr. Murphy has told friends on Facebook that some local councillors then ”whipped up” a mob into a ”pretty intensive hate campaign” against him.

He has been told not to set foot in the local town and has even received a death threat.

All the World is a Stage?

During a radio interview to explain his actions in defence of the Faith, Anthony Murphy, as well as the two women involved, all said some things which bear on much deeper issues that are present beneath this latest case.

It would be a shame if these issues were lost sight of in all the noise and cruel attacks on Mr. Murphy and his family.

Anthony Murphy said on the radio: ”Clearly, the way the choir works in Athy, Jacinta and Geraldine are positioned on an Altar in the sanctuary, in a stage almost, sharing the stage with the parish priest. You cannot have contradiction where the Church teaches one thing and people who are right next to the Tabernacle, the Blessed Sacrament, contradict all of that teaching.”

In their response, the women suggested that they only wanted to provide a ”music ministry” in order to ”enhance the Eucharist”.

Now, we have looked at on-line photographs from the parish: it is clear that the church at Athy has one of those extended stage-like sanctuaries, that have become so common around the world in the decades following the Second Vatican Council. It is notable that the old High Altar remains in a traditional apse, whilst a new circular ”table-altar” now stands out on a circular platform out in the body of the church. The focus is very much anthropentric, in contrast to the former Theocentric design.

The Link Between Liturgy and Morality

The responses of Anthony Murphy, and the two women, combined with this anthropocentric sanctuary arrangement, speak volumes about the deeper problems beneath the widespread rejection of Catholic sexual ethics and natural law morality.

In the Traditional Latin Mass, where the Christocentric-Trinitarian focus of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is so abundantly clear from the orientation of the altar arrangement, and from the prayers, gestures, and the physical distinction-in-unity between priest and people, none of these problematic events would even have had a chance to happen.

That is to say: no lay people would feel that they could in any way ”enhance” the Eucharist; no lay people would be handling the Sacred Species of the Blessed Sacrament; no lay people would be up on the sanctuary with the priest; and the very essence of the Traditional Liturgy would make it clear that there is a God and it is not you!

This latter point would itself help Catholics to remember the awful majesty of God Who, though rich in mercy, is not to be received in the state of objective mortal sin.

Then again, the priests who celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass are also, at least generally speaking, more likely to express the authentic teachings of the Church on faith and morals in their regular homilies. Although there are good preachers at some Novus Ordo parishes, this has been the widespread experience of many Catholics who have been fortunate enough to find a Traditional Latin Mass to go to, in the midst of an ecclesiastical culture that is so largely dominated by Modernism.

Where are the Local Bishop and Priests?

At the end of the day, Mr. Murphy and his family should not have even been put in this position.

The bishop and the local parish priest should have told these ladies that, to avoid offending God, for the good of their own immortal souls and to avoid giving scandal to other souls, they must not present themselves for Holy Communion, if they persist without repentant Confession for having entered a pairing which gravely contravenes God’s Holy Law.

Following that, the bishop and parish priest, in their capacity as ordained ministers of God’s Church, should have fielded any flak coming from local councillors, media outlets or any others rebelling so publicly against God’s Law and His faithful people.

Please Keep the Murphy Family in Your Prayers

Mr. Murphy has given a distressing press-release which says much about post-modern Ireland and the times ahead for faithful Catholics everywhere: ”My family and I are under sustained and aggressive attack. A campaign of abuse has been organized against us, but they cannot silence the Truth. I will continue to speak out no matter what the cost. The local clergy have behaved appallingly – they have just gone to ground – my wife is very distressed by the whole thing. Of course, this is all intended to dissuade others from speaking out. It is scandalous!”

Please pray for Mr. Anthony Murphy and his wife and family in this time when the shepherds have so clearly abandoned them to the wolves.

      Therese,

Many thanks for posting that report – I didn’t know anything about this. What a shocking disgrace that the priest permitted those lesbians to distribute Holy Communion and then to distribute invites to the celebration of their sin. Utterly shocking.

      A short while later…

I emailed the PP as follows:

      Fr McEvoy,

I will be reporting the scandal of the two females Jacinta O’Donnell and Geraldine Flanagan, whom you are supporting in their “lesbian” relationship, in the next edition of our newsletter – it is currently featured on our blog.

YOU, however, not they, will be the key subject of our report. The two women, like the rest of us, are sinners – in their case public sinners, guilty of a grave sin, one that traditionally has been described by Christians as one of the four sins that “cry to Heaven for vengeance”.

YOU, on the other hand, are the priest responsible for their souls who, instead of correcting their distorted moral sense, is encouraging them in their sin. THAT’S what makes your parish “newsworthy” in the worst possible sense.

Indeed, if anything could be worse, you not only have no problem with these public sinners enjoying a prominent role in your parish, you, in fact, reserve your disapproval for the parishioner, Anthony Murphy, who expressed his perfectly legitimate and dutiful concerns about the situation. When Our Lady of Fatima spoke of the Church taking a “diabolical disorientation” after 1960, she wasn’t kidding.

Thanks to your pastoral negligence, these lesbians may well lose their souls. It’s a while since I completed my M.Th. but I doubt if any priest responsible for the loss of a single soul, let alone two or more, can look forward himself to eternal bliss. That really wouldn’t make theological sense, now, would it? My hope for you is, therefore, that you will see the light, so to speak, and move to restore the right order of things in this situation. Mr Murphy, according to reports, is being persecuted, and has even received a death threat, for following his truly Catholic conscience, while you will undoubtedly receive plenty of worldly plaudits for your infidelity.

The above gives a flavour of the report which will appear in our internationally read newsletter, when our next edition appears in November. Comment if you wish – I will include any defence you care to attempt – but whether or not you reply to this, be assured that, without a speedy and public repentance, your scandalous encouragement of Jacinta O’Donnell and Geraldine Flanagan in their manifest public sin, together with your unjust treatment of Anthony Murphy, will come back to haunt you at your Judgment.

Wendy, thank you for that link – I’ve copied the entire article, plus my letter to the editor just submitted, with the email address for others, hopefully, to write in as well. This is utterly disgraceful and – notorious as he is – he’s gotten away with his public dissent for far too long. Here’s the article in full, for those who may miss the link…

We must be help Irish women with abortion costs, says rebel priest D’Arcy

An outspoken priest from Northern Ireland has said Irish women travelling to England for abortions should be helped with the costs of repatriation. Fr Brian D’Arcy made the comments in the second part of an interview with Hot Press magazine published today.

The Enniskillen cleric says he has had “countless conversations” with mothers faced with the sometimes heartbreaking decision of having to travel to England for a termination.

“I have sat with mothers, night after night after night. And I have always said to mothers, ‘Whatever you choose is the right choice’,” he said.

“I always say that to mothers. My own view is that we should try to save all lives.”
While insisting his views are still pro-life, Fr D’Arcy has backed the proposal to cover repatriation costs in abortion cases involving fatal foetal abnormalities, in order for the remains to be brought back to Ireland and buried if the woman has been forced to travel to Great Britain for an abortion.

“Whatever about the abortion, I have no problem at all having respect and love and care for the little infant whose life didn’t get a chance,” he said.

So, whatever we should do to make the mother and father of that infant good, so much the better. I have no problem with that. In fact, I think it’s a good thing to do be compassionate and loving in that situation.”

The rebel priest believes it is inevitable that the Irish government will repeal the Eighth Amendment to the State’s constitution – originally passed by referendum in 1983 – which gives the unborn an equal right to life with mothers in all circumstances.

Fr D’Arcy has admitted his views may mean his days as a priest are numbered.

The Passionist priest also said he supports gay couples adopting, would have no problem giving his blessing at same-sex marriages and has called on Pope Francis to allow divorced people to re-marry in the church.

In the first part of the Hot Press interview published earlier this month he claimed to know that a number of women committed suicide after suffering abuse at the hands of Ireland’s most notorious paedophile priest from Belfast, Brendan Smyth.

He also had harsh words for Cardinal Sean Brady, who was aware of children being abused by Belfast-born Fr Smyth, but chose not to go to the authorities.
“The one thing you will always say about Sean Brady is that he’s a decent man,” he said. “But he would probably know himself now that the system had him so brainwashed that he didn’t do the right thing. He was wrapped up in this whole secrecy thing.”

In the latest interview Fr D’Arcy states that half of his own congregation are in second marriages or relationships.

Having faced censure from the Vatican once before for his views, Fr D’Arcy speaks about risking his vocation. “I could get the second yellow card and be silenced forever,” he said.

The interview also airs Fr D’Arcy’s opinions on the way women are treated in the Catholic Church, his experience of being stalked by a female admirer and of threats made to his life.

      Belfast Telegraph

      My letter to the editor

      Dear Sir,

Fr Brian D’Arcy’s outrageous attack on the unborn child, posing as concern for the abortion-seeking mother’s financial welfare, should lead to his immediate suspension from the active priestly ministry until it can be determined that he is repentant and will desist from causing further scandal by his blatant rejection of God’s moral law. (We must help Irish women with abortion costs, says rebel priest D’Arcy, 15/9.16)

That this priest goes on to express his willingness to see “gay adoption” and to “bless” same sex “marriages” is further proof that the man is about as Catholic as the nearest Imam.

He remarks that his views may mean that his days as a Catholic priest are over. Speaking for our Irish readership, I hope he’s right. We need bad priests like him, like we need any other kind of terrorist attack.

      • Therese

        My letter to the editor:

        Dear Sir/Madam

I refer to the article by the self-styled pro-life Fr D’Arcy. This person is supposed to be a Catholic priest, with, one assumes, more than a minimal understanding of Christ’s Church, and His laws. Yet you report him as saying” I have always said to mothers, ‘Whatever you choose is the right choice’.” Those are not the sentiments of a Catholic. We do not have the right to choose which innocent humans get to live, and which ones get to die. He should know that.

Fr D’Arcy apparently insists that “his views are still pro-life”…

I may insist that I’m five foot ten inches tall, but that will not alter the fact that I’m actually five foot three inches tall. By the same token, Fr D’Arcy cannot, by any reasonable judgement, be considered as “pro-life” when he is supporting the view that some lives are not worth living, no matter how unctuous his feelings for the “little infant(s)” whose “life didn’t get a chance”. They don’t get a chance, Fr D’Arcy, because they’re killed in their mothers’ wombs. It’s not an accident; it’s not an Act of God, it’s an act of humans.

Fr D’Arcy states that he “doesn’t have a problem with having respect, love and care” for the little infant who has been killed. Well, that’s a relief. How compassionate of him to back a proposal to have the slaughtered remains of the “little infant(s)” repatriated to Ireland.

Fr D’A’Arcy thinks that “whatever we should do to make the mother and father of that infant good, so much the better. I have no problem with that. In fact, I think it’s a good thing to do be compassionate and loving in that situation.”

Compassionate and loving? Of course! Fr D’Arcy’s “compassion” and “loving” is not restricted to the parents of the doomed “little infant” – no – he has no problem in showing respects to its mortal remains. What a man. What a priest.

“Fr D’Arcy has admitted his views may mean his days as a priest are numbered.”

        Oh. If only.

“The Passionist priest also said he supports gay couples adopting, would have no problem giving his blessing at same-sex marriages and has called on Pope Francis to allow divorced people to re-marry in the church.”

        Well, what a surprise.

        Yours sincerely

Excellent letter Therese! Just the right amount of hard hitting and well deserved sarcasm without being offensive. I can’t believe this priest still has the audacity to minister as a Catholic priest. Has celebrity turned his head I wonder?

        Superb!

I removed your real name at the end, as I presumed you had copied and pasted your letter here, forgetting to delete the signature.

Terrific letter, and now that the editor has received at least three that we know of, (yours, Wendy’s, mine) he will surely HAVE to publish at least one – mine of course! Kidding! Definitely kidding since, to paraphrase Elizabeth, mine is just the right amount of hard-hitting and sarcasm to be totally offensive! That was the plan!

Many thanks to all who wrote. Here’s another contribution, from yours truly:-

For the attention of the Editor

        Dear Sir,

I am writing further to ‘rebel priest’ Father Brian D’Arcy (Belfast Telegraph, 15/09).

With regard to abortion, so much rubbish gets talked about ‘choice’. So, did anyone ever get pregnant from washing their car? In choosing to engage in intimacy, people should be prepared to accept the consequences. Why should an innocent unborn child be denied the right to life because his (or her) parents won’t take responsibility for their own conduct?

As for ‘Father’ D’Arcy, I do hope his superiors have the vertebrae to ensure he gets de-frocked, asap.

        Sincerely,

        Wendy, et al,

My own letter was also published here and a further letter from a CDC Armstrong in Belfast which you can read here

So that’s good news that two out of three of our letters were published. Yours may yet appear – perhaps tomorrow. They sometimes hold over letters if they receive quite a few. We must keep watching that space! It’s great that that dissenting priest isn’t getting away with his disgraceful pro-abortion views, however he dresses it up to look like the opposite.

I read a bit of his biography online and he loved dancing before becoming a priest and kept up his “hobby” afterwards – by going dancing every night of the week! Incredible. Oh but he says he wore his collar and heard lots of confessions – yeah right.

My last entry on this subject was posted on the general discussion blog I stand corrected! The following should be considered in the context of the entry of the GD blog by me on the 4th September. In 1916 Father Vaughan stated that the war was emptying houses and sin was emptying cradles. He stated he was delighted to be one of 14 children but he was jealous of his father who was one of 20.
In the US Wuerl keeps out of the abortion issues in his comments on politics whilst Chaput chastises Kaine and Biden on abortion issues.
In Ireland a family is being shunned by their community for complaining about two active lesbians living together and singing in the church choir and receiving communion.
As regards to the future of the GD blog I think everything should go on that blog and all others abolished since there is clearly synergy and an encouragement thereby to study all aspects of church life. Love and prayers Liam

Mmm Liam, you might have a point there about just having the one thread, the GD one. I sometimes have to navigate here and there to find what I want and all this between needy children.

      • Laura

I couldn’t disagree more. I hardly ever check the GD thread, as it’s got too many different topics going on. I much prefer the system as it is at the moment where there are particular topics with a lead article to introduce the topic. Then if there isn’t a topic and you want to say something, you can post it on the GD thread. I’d much rather see the end of the GD thread than the topics.

        September 17, 2016 at 9:42 pm
      • editor

        Laura et al,

Well, having read all the comments on the future of the GD thread, and having heard verbal opinions on the matter, I’ve decided to leave the GD thread in place and “lighten up” about it. If there are two or more conversations going on at any one time on the same topic, so what?

I have tended to think of it as being similar to pupils in a classroom all reading different books on the same topic and causing confusion but then, who am I to judge?!

I’ll take my revenge when bloggers begin to complain that they can’t follow a topic because it is all over the place on the blog. The old saying comes to mind: “don’t get mad, get even!”

    http://www.mybodybackproject.com/misrepresentation-mbb-catholic-herald/

Iwas shocked to read this on a website …….there was an article yesterday about this project in the YOu mag a Daily Mail supplement …it did not read as pro life so I went ot the website and found this …no one is trying to lessen the trauma of rape …but aborting any baby conceived through rape is in effect a double rape …….adding to the pain ….and of course the poor little baby is innocent ..
I have written to them their is a reply facility on their webpage and asked them ……Since they are so angry re The Catholic Herald I am wondering if they would return any financial help given through Catholic people reading this article they are so angry about ? or refuse anyone who is Catholic who may want to work for them helping rape victims …given their very anti life views who would .?
These so called feminists are just so hateful and loathsome of the preborn child they pick up on every little thing that could be seen as pro life and complain
It is so sad that pro life people just take all the blows and remain silent
I wonder how many babies have been condemned to die through this …project ……????????

      Wendy,

Those “charities” ought to be named. The only name given is the Archdiocese of New York – notorious. And charging £3,000 dollars? WHO can afford to attend such an event? RCA Victor, maybe, Athanasius, possibly, but the rest of us?????

Seriously, the whole thing is a scandal from start to finish. If there are specific “charities” involved as opposed to the Archdiocese itself, then they should be named and shamed with informed Catholics refusing to donate a penny, or a cent, to them.

      September 23, 2016 at 11:43 pm
      • RCA Victor

        Editor and Wendy,

There are no charities involved in the Al Smith Dinner other than the host, the Archdiocese of New York, which allegedly uses the funds raised to help needy children (obviously this category fails to include, for some mysterious reason, needy children being killed in their mothers’ wombs).

The article is somewhat off base, however, in saying that “…Clinton’s invitation is a surprise given her radical stances on abortion and religious liberty.” No, this is no surprise, since, as the article notes at the end, Obama was invited to the same forum twice, to get his photo-op endorsement of that pathetic fool Cardinal Dolan yukking it up with him. It was Catholics who voted Obama into office, and I wouldn’t hesitate to bet that it will be Catholics who vote Clinton into office as well, barring Divine Intervention.

It’s no surprise that the hierarchy of the Church is in bed with the enemy – they’ve been there for at least 50 years. I wrote H.E.Dolan a long letter in 2012, right before Obama was scheduled for his second appearance at this dinner, requesting that the dinner be cancelled. No reply – one half of standard operating procedure for liberals. Either they ignore you when you present them with the truth, or they ridicule you.

May I suggest you join the Rosary Crusade of the SSPX for the coming year. It will take the triumph of Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart to sort out so much evil now. Individual crusades for individual causes are good, certainly, but the overall crisis in the Church and the world now demands a wholehearted devotion to Our Lady and the Traditional Catholic Faith as well as morals.

Five decades a day from now until October 2017 to mark the centenary ot the great miracle of the sun. The times are now so evil that we need Our Lady to step in as she promised at Quito for these days. For me, that’s now our only hope for an end to abortion, general immorality and apostasy from the true religion. We must all take up Our Lady’s Crusade in the Rosary and she will crush the head of the serpent against all human expectation.

      Wendy,

By an ironic coincidence, there’s a programme on BBC2 at 9 p.m. that same evening called ‘A world without Down’s Syndrome?’ about “the issues surrounding the new pre-natal test for Down’s Syndrome which is 99% accurate”. It’s presented by Sally Phillips who has a son with Down’s Syndrome and while I don’t doubt any pro-life sentiment will be muted and couched in the vaguest possible terms, it might make a few viewers think a little bit.

      Wendy,

I’ve just emailed the following message to Nick Craven…

      Dear Mr Craven,

I’ve just read your article in the Mail on Sunday castigating the pro-life activists who speak to women going into clinics for abortions, in the hope of dissuading them from ending the life of their unborn child.

For the life of me, cutting through the emotive reporting and propaganda, I couldn’t see what the pro-life activists were doing that was so wrong.

Surely a woman going in for an abortion would be interested to see the plastic life-size foetuses? Don’t they want to know the reality of what they are about to do? I think they do know a certain amount, of course, otherwise, why the “guilt”, why is it such a “traumatic” decision? That, I can never understand. If abortion is not murder, what is the problem? It’s legal in the UK. It’s not frowned upon by “society”. Why then, the guilt? Why the trauma? Sorry, but I just don’t get it. If there’s nothing immoral about abortion, and it’s legal, there is no issue. Manifestly, it is the fact that mothers know perfectly well that they are murdering a baby, as do the biased reporters like yourself. That fact is at the root of your hatred of the pro-life activists. What is left of your conscience, is pricked. But, hey, don’t shoot the messengers! The pro-life activists are just trying to save the babies’ at risk – they didn’t create God’s moral law. They didn’t force the woman to engage in sexual intimacy. So, I repeat, please don’t go about the place shooting the messengers.

And notably, you do not provide the slightest evidence against the pro-life counsellor’s statements about the link between abortion and breast cancer. It’s a pity you did not research your own newspaper for reports on the fact that many credible studies DO show a link – here’s one article on the link between abortion and breast cancel – not the best available but I include it because it was published in your own newspaper. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1288955/Abortion-triple-risk-breast-cancer.html

Your entire article is misleading and mischievous in the extreme, associating the pavement counselling service provided by some pro-life activists in the UK, to the aberrant behaviour of a few nutcases in the USA – a negligible group, most likely to be suffering from mental instability. That association, above all, reveals the paucity of your anti-life argument.

I have no intention of viewing the Channel 4 documentary which you advertise, because it will be no such thing. It won’t document the evidence against abortion; it will be yet one more propaganda piece, which the uncritical if not entirely unthinking population of the UK will soak up either to salve their consciences or to affirm them in their ignorance.

I urge you to study the facts about the development of a baby in the womb and the actual procedure which kills that baby at whatever stage of his/her life. Visit the website of Abort 67 http://abort67.co.uk/ but be prepared for the most graphic images – that is, if you really do wish to check out the reality of abortion. You won’t see those images on any TV news report or documentary – although you WILL be able to see graphic images of young and old alike in Syrian hospitals or lying dead in the streets. That’s OK. Just not dead babies, killed in their own mother’s womb. Yes, do pay a visit to Abort 67. Then ask yourself if it is remotely justifiable for any woman to decide that ending this little life is truly the only option, no matter her circumstances. There are, believe it or not, people who will readily adopt disabled or special needs children. No need to kill them. http://www.streetsie.com/adoption-fostering-disabled-children/

      Yours sincerely

  • wendy walker

I am writing to you to register my absolute disgust at your very crude interpretation of the wonderful work PRO LIFE people who care for both Mum to be and baby equally .
As someone who has been in the PRO LIFE movement for 46 long ,painful years believe me I reel at the terrible injustice given to brave PRO LIFE people who care about these babies ..if we were fighting animal abuse we would be Martyrs ..but your very usage of the word fanatic shows you r really have little understanding of what abortion is or does .
Small early gestation babies are sucked away and torn to shreds …larger babies dismembered …remember abortion is legal up to Birth often these late gestation cry to live but are left to die ..some get injections into their hearts to stop them .
It may seem trendy to write articles that encourage the abortion camp but not too many years ago people fought Wars to stop regimes that killed people in horrific ways only these vile murders now go on in charnel houses throughout the Country behind doors in Hospital and Clinics [Mills ]….like a continual hideous conveyor belt of death .
You may be as horrified and disgusted at my article to you as I am of yours . but .were you not once an preborn baby ?
it is strange how most abortionists gloss over the severe problems rising from abortion hasn’t recently Marie Stopes been curtailed by the CQC ?….Have Not people died from their abortion …?……who knows how many thousands of people suffer greatly from post abortion trauma and don’t say it doesn’t exist because abortion mills have the cheek to offer post abortion counselling ..many people suffer physical damage as well as needing IVF…….sometimes parts of the baby are left in Utero
What of the women who do not want an abortion ?..but are forced by the babies Father ,Parents ,and others who feel it is not right for this doomed baby to be born ……especially if the baby may be deemed Handicapped or Ethnic /mixed race ?
There are many writings regarding abortion and Breast Cancer they all point to the fact it does raise the risk
The Eugenicists do not like the truth to out it would be bad for business wouldn’t it ?
how gullible people are if I had a pound for every woman suffering after an abortion said …”I was never told my baby was formed I was told it was just a shapeless bunch of cells “!
And as I said before before you label kind ,helpful ,caring people fanatics don’t you think you should reserve this for those who scream and shout for more Infant bloodlust to be shed ? And who enjoy massive salaries ensuring those babies do die not very charitable them ?
As Pro Life Doctors and Nurses are discriminated against and gynaecologists do not proceed up the Status ladder if they do not want to kill babies it makes one think does it not ?…probably just as Pro Life reporters do not go far if they do not agree with killing…It is a strange World where we sweat and shake if a baby Panda has been conceived and brought to Birth yet we blanch when Human babies are .
If you believe Human Life starts at fertilization then it is proof enough that so called contraception which works after fertilization is also abortifacient and sadly the chemicals in these abhorrent human Pesticides have polluted out Waters sources for many years leading to Hermaphrodite fishes and horrific Hormonal imbalances in people ..imbibing this sort of chemical cocktail cannot be good can it for anyone can it ?
    Oh Brave New World
long may brave honest people speak out and endeavour to educate people of the true Humanity of these little unseen lives
    Yours truly ,Sincerely and Sadly

    Twickenham, England
    OCTOBER 3, 2016
    fall2016twickenham3
The campaign in Twickenham has already received two amazing blessings.

One woman left the abortion facility saying, “Don’t worry, I didn’t do it!” Just five minutes later another mother said the same thing.

The vigil is outside a late-term abortion centre that typically does around 7,400 abortions a year — with some 320 of them at 20 weeks or beyond. The building has a unique history — it once served as a convent for nuns, who lived, worked and worshipped there. But now, it is a place of death.

Justyna, the local coordinator who brought the first 40 Days for Life campaign to this location three years ago, now leads a full-time presence there … seeing 300 babies saved from abortion.

The volunteers are praying for the closure of the building … and a renewal of pro-life efforts in their community.

As requested by Wendy, the text of my e-mail to Nick Craven….

    Dear Mr Nick Craven,

I am writing to express my profound disquiet with your very disdainful demeanour towards ‘anti-abortion zealots’ who do the pro-life prayer and witnessing outside baby-butchering centres.

For your information, during WWII many pregnant women in concentration camps had their babies forcibly aborted. The ‘method’ commonly employed was a Nazi officer’s jackboot stamped upon the mother’s abdomen, with the inevitable grisly consequences. The fiends who did this were rightly convicted of ‘crimes against humanity’ at the Nuremberg Trials, the Courts having ruled that the unborn babies were just as human as their grieving mothers.

However, some 20 years later the Abortion Act was passed here in the UK – and the deliberate killing of unborn human life suddenly became a ‘choice’, a ‘service’ and a ‘women’s right’. This has to be one of the worst examples of double standards in human history, when abortion is deemed unacceptable if it suits one agenda, then gets the nod of approval when it suits another. Abortion is either a human wrong or a human right, but it can’t be both.

If you must be like the priest and the Levite, by all means do ‘pass by on the other side’. But please leave the ‘good Samaritans’ in peace to do what they have to do.

    Sincerely,
    Patrick McKay.

      Wendy,

Would you ask all your pro-life activists to prepare before they participate in debates on abortion. I am, right now, listening to a discussion about the Channel 4 programme on Radio Scotland’s “Call Kaye” programme and I am less than impressed. The prolifer is focused on the woman’s emotional distress AFTER the abortion and completely misses clear opportunities to correct the other side. For example, the pro abortionist mentioned cameras outside the clinics,as in frightening the women, but the cameras are to protect pro-lifers from false allegations of intimidation, they are not trained on the women. Yet she ignored that (and other whoppers) to return to her favourite theme of post-abortion damage.

The other thing which I have NEVER heard a prolifer say in response to the allegation that they are being cruel since the women have agonised over their decision to abort is – WHY????????? If there is nothing immoral with it, and it’s legal – why agonise?

If we didn’t have a conference due in May, I think I would suggest to the team that we organise a training day for prolifers involved in media interviews! I mean, it’s mostly common sense and selecting the key issues – one of which is the fact that a baby is being murdered, but that is never said! Oops, it wouldn’t sound “diplomatic”. Right.

Editor, the same thoughts crossed my mind! Great minds think alike. I know: and Fools seldom differ.

Why don’t pro-lifers just say it as it is? It’s the murder of a baby. Period. pro-lifers give of their time generously but they do need some more training. Lots of it!

Wendy, I’ve completed the form. Here’s the relevant extract from their online form:

How did you reach this form?:
I followed a link on another website

      Programme title:
Dispatches – Undercover: Britain’s Abortion Extremists

      Date of broadcast:
      05/10/2016

      Time of broadcast:
      11:00

      Channel / station:

      Channel 4

      Subject:

This programme was entirely biased against the people who were trying to help women to think of an alternative to abortion.

      Description:
The presenter, who admitted having had an abortion herself, was clearly out to discredit the pro-life activists – e.g. claimed they gave false information without proving the fact. Disgracefully biased. Entrapment techniques, although none of the statements made by the prolifers and published on the screen were in any way objectionable. This is all to pursue the censorship agenda, to get more draconian laws against free speech. Emphasis was laid on the trauma caused to the women who had agonised over their decision to kill their baby without the question being asked, “why the agony” if abortion is legal and not immoral. THAT question was never asked, it was just a nasty attack on pro-life activists. END.

I was in something of a hurry, so that’s the best I could do. I would encourage others to complain because they have to know that there are informed viewers who see what they are up to.

Note: I’ve now published a link to the Dispatches programme on our website home page. The programme can be viewed for the next month (I think, for some weeks anyway) – it only lasts for 27 minutes. I’ve also posted a voting poll. View the video, if you have not yet seen it, and then register your opinion.

Subject: Women harassed at abortion centres?

    Dear supporter

In the recent pro-abortion media attacks on The Good Counsel Network, the Journalists, the MP, the doctor etc refused to speak to the women helped by us as the truth does not sit well with the false image they wish to portray of us. Please take time to watch what these Mothers have to say and share it with others. You can see the programme here; https://t.co/XNxUyb9yiH

Also you might consider sending a personal letter /card to brave Sally re Downs programme thanking her for her outstanding courage

    A Dark Centenary Vigil
View this email in your browser

    Dear Wendy
Abortion is a curse on our culture and a scourge in our society today.
This coming Saturday 15th Oct 2016 marks “A Dark Centenary”.
Margaret Sanger – a servant of Satan, opened her 1st abortion mill illegally.
She has managed to spread the culture of death throughout the world admittedly with help, and due to insufficient resistance from the faithful. As long as life lasts it is not too late so I encourage you to join me on a vigil to stand against this steamroller of death. There are many in the USA that will be marking this “Dark Centenary” by holding vigils to end the killing and save the lives of those in its path and at its controls. Be sure that IPPF will be celebrating this day to raise funds and proclaim its nefarious work but we just need to pray.
We are planning to hold a vigil at the global headquarters of the biggest baby killing organisation the world has ever known. We will pray for the billions of children lost and for the millions of mothers that have suffered and are still suffering; we will be praying for the fathers and siblings who mourn their little family members. We will be praying for the abortionists and support staff whose hands are dripping with blood so they can have them washed in the Blood of the Lamb; and we will be praying for ourselves to stand strong and stay firm in our resolve so that our faith may win the day as we announce the Good News which is that Jesus Christ loves you!
It is so vitally important that you come and pray as Our Lady told us at Fatima please bring a friend and a rosary.

Here is an outline of the vigil.

1 Congregate at the top of Newhams Row SE1 3UZ

” We are here to pray!” and then the angelus.
3 Process with a small white coffin while praying the
“I Confess” to the front of IPPF HQ
place the coffin on ground in front of the door of the IPPF HQ
4 Start rosary – Sorrowful mysteries
5 Speech 2 – “Who is Margaret Sanger?” 3-4 min
    6 Divine Mercy Chaplet
7 Speech 3 – “Why are we in this location?” 3-4 min
Place a white rose on the coffin
    8 Rosary – Joyful mysteries
9 Speech 4″What can we do?”
Everyone kneels down for 1 minute in silence to consider
“what can I do to make abortion unthinkable”
10 Stations of the Cross – priest to talk on the slaughter of the innocence.
    12 Glorious Mysteries
    13 Thank everyone closing speech 5 – leave 14:00

    LIFE INSTITUTE NEWS : 28 October 2016
Let Carphone Warehouse know what you think of their ‘pro-choice’ advert

    Dear WENDY

You may have seen the tasteless attempt by Carphone Warehouse to cause controversy and court attention by seeming to take a position on abortion. They are running a huge media campaign – billboards, DART ads, bus ads and more, all with the ‘I’m pro-choice’ message.

Now, we can argue that being for choice is fine, because abortion isn’t about choice, it’s about killing a baby and hurting a mother, but clearly Carphone Warehouse meant the ads to be provocative. And the truth is that the ‘I’m pro-choice’ slogan is used to justify killing babies.

So, it’s very important that YOU as a pro-life consumer tell Carphone Warehouse what you think TODAY by email, phone and more.

Here’s an example of what people have sent:

    Dear Carphone Warehouse,

You have lost me, my family and many of my friends as a customer because your ‘pro-choice’ ad is an attempt at controversy that pushes the lie which claims killing a baby is simply a ‘choice’. Quite obviously, your ad was timed to make an impact on the abortion debate, but it has backfired.

Choice is fine for phones, but the euphemism of ‘pro-choice’ is used to conceal the horrible reality of abortion. Since you either support that, or think it’s a good sales pitch to oppose the pro-life position, then we have plenty of other providers to choose from.
