Why are the African people so clear headed about the issue of homosexual “rights”? How come they “get it” where the rest of the world, more or less, has fallen, hook, line and sinker for the propaganda? What can we learn from the African success, to date, in fending off the powerful LGBT lobby?

That number is lower than five years ago, when 96% of Nigerians opposed relationships between same-sex couples.

It looks like Nigeria may cave in to the LGBT pressure eventually.
I don’t know what other bloggers think of their “draconian” laws, with a 14 year prison sentence for same-sex couples. I’m wondering if I’ve become so used to this evil that I am quite shocked at such a heavy sentence. Would it not be enough just to fine them? Putting them into prison when they are not a danger to society at large, seems a bit heavy-handed.
Saying that, I think it is great that the Africans are sticking to their guns and not legalising homosexuality. Long may that last.
There must be SOME way of clamping down on the gay militants and the aggressive gay culture, without being harsh to individual homosexuals.
The Gay Lobby is powerful in the West, because it has the backing of the Establishment – politicians, intelligentsia, commentators, rich individuals and corporations. They, more than homosexuals, are the problem.

I think giving long jail sentences only makes them into martyrs. It should be enough to outlaw homosexuality with being “harsh” as you say.

Don’t you mean to say that you would outlaw sodomy? How can you outlaw homosexuality which is an internal thing, i.e. same sex attraction. It would be impossible to outlaw a feeling.

Yes, of course we knew that. I think that was quite obvious and your original comment was clear. How could a feeling possibility be outlawed?
The difference is simple – the West is decadent (because of its excessive wealth), Africa is not.
Sexual decadence, homosexuality included, is a mark of decadent societies – witness the Roman Empire or Renaissance Italy.
While the West remains cocooned in luxury, it will remain decadent and the militant Gay Lobby will flourish.
What I know about Nigeria, and the rest of Africa, wouldn’t fill a thimble, but I suspect their resistance to NWO depravity might be because the leftist billionaire agitators are late to the game, having concentrated their Marxist Frankfurt School efforts, until recently, on Europe and the USA – both of which have fallen like a house of cards. Likewise, the degeneration and surrender of the Church to secularism has not proceeded at nearly the same pace, as far as I’m aware, as it has in the “Caucasian West” (witness the resistance of Cardinal Sarah to AL, and his statements on ad orientem worship). Perhaps there is a connection between the relative strength of the Church there, and the resistance of the populace to perversion and sin?
I also wonder whether the legacy left in Africa by Abp. Lefebvre is responsible for some of this resistance.

I’m very interested indeed in your latest comment, because I was discussing only yesterday, the fact (and it IS a fact) that there is a clear link between sexual deviance/misbehaviour and liturgical abuse.

Seems to me Abp. Lefebvre had his finger on the pulse when he told Cardinal Ratzinger that Europe was being de-Christianized as a result of Vatican II. In other words, “They Have Uncrowned Him” results in the separation of society from its proper moorings, and its consequent drift into depravity – or perhaps it might be more accurate to say, a greatly magnified susceptibility to depravity, which the NWO has been quick to exploit and inflame into anarchy.
However, I still don’t know why Africa has resisted this engineered dissolution. Fewer homosexuals and liberals in their seminaries?

I don’t know either, why Africa has avoided the plague of LGBT propaganda. They have, as we know from the Synod, some very sound bishops, in terms of doctrine on the family, so I presume that they have kept a tighter control over their seminaries. Whatever the reason, long may it last!
There is another major factor. Most Africans probably don’t have a BBC presenter on every night in their Homes who is Homosexual and it doesn’t seem to matter what the program is they get the Homosexual agenda across. I wish I had the courage to refuse to pay the TV license as all it seems to me is to make sexual deviants richer. In fact as far as the great institution of the BBC is concerned it seems one of the main attributes to being a presenter is to be Homosexual.

I think the education system is becoming a target for homosexuals. Just today The Time For Inclusive Education held a conference for teachers in Glasgow. The provost of St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral in Glasgow gave a speech in which he said, “”I came out in my late 30s and an enormous energy grew in me, what would that have been like if I could’ve done that as a kid?” clear evidence of targeting children.

That is disgraceful, openly targeting children. I wonder if Catholic teachers attended that event? If so, that is a scandal in itself, with the minister in charge being an active homosexual (assuming that’s what “came out in my late 30s” means.
As I read the intro to this thread I thought exactly what Michaela said (first 2 paragraphs first post). Archbishop Lefebvre and faithful Catholic cardinals may be having an effect for now, but I think that these African countries get it for no reason other than they are still a little ‘backward’ (by about 60 years) compared to the more enlightened and civilised West, vis-a-vis the family and in those backward feelings of repulsion and disgust at unnatural vice. I fear that the LGBT brigade’s confidence about its final victory in these African countries is well-founded, as is its estimate of about 60 years to that victory. I’m no expert on Africa, but I did study the Masai as they were 50+ years ago in Kenya, and in a recent TV documentary watched about them they were unrecognisable, their earlier, quite recent, way of life being now only enacted as a tourist attraction. Also I later studied on a university Adult Education diploma course, where more than half the group were from the countries under discussion here. Believe me, the eagerness of these future African leaders and educators to embrace western ‘values’ knew no bounds.
Whilst I’d like to believe that Africa’s current resistance to the pink propagandists was down to the operations of grace, the realist/cynic in me agrees with those other comments here citing long-standing and strong cultural influences combined with the still limited reach of the world’s mainstream mass media on that continent as the root cause of the rejection of the XYZ Brigade’s programme for moral degeneration. As recently as 2013, less than a third of African households had access to a TV which is of course the most powerful (and potentially pernicious) media tool in the influencing of minds and hearts. As Michaela’s stat demonstrates however, support for the moral order in Africa is already eroding significantly and to such an extent that it would probably not be wholly inaccurate to predict that in a generation, those actively supportive of or at least indifferent to, the Amoral Alphabetical’s Agenda will be in the majority.
Well, would you believe it, I met a lovely, friendly, gentleman from Nigeria this morning after Mass. His name is Tony and he is returning home to Nigeria tomorrow.
I told him about this discussion and gave him our website address so he will undoubtedly check it out.
When I suggested that maybe the LGBT people will win eventually, he seemed convinced that that time – if it ever happens – is a long way off, largely due to the strong Christian and Muslim influence in the country, all opposed to homosexuality being legalised.

How come the African people “get it” is the question. The answer is because the African people are a lot less depraved than Westerners.
It is getting to the stage, If it hasn’t already got there, that household pets will soon be in hostile territory within their own homes. Even garden gnomes would be advised to keep their eyes peeled when their owners are pottering around on a hot day.

Totally agree that African people are nowhere near Westerners on the depravity scale. In fact, if you class Westerners as most of Europe and all of North America, we could probably say that all the other peoples on the planet have higher standards.
Oh,and by the way, I was told a (true) story by a doctor a few years ago about a man just walking along the road minding his own business, possibly on a hot day as he may have been wearing shorts, when as he passed a garden he was scratched on the leg by a gnome in the archetypal ‘fishing’ position. He thought nothing of it but he subsequently contracted tetanus from the scratch inflicted by the gnome’s fishing rod and died. So please don’t try and paint the gnomes as a wholly innocent party in the disintegration of society.

I would also associate wealth with debauchery. It is historically demonstrable that wealthier cultures, that is, cultures wherein material want has been minimalised, usually end up hedonistic and perverse in their morals. Indeed, with the great pagan empires of the pre-Christian world it can be shown that their deterioration into perverse morals immediately preceded their downfall and destruction.
Africa is, for the most part, materially poor off. This has its difficulties but I believe it also has its blessings in that it keeps people’s minds and hearts fixed more on spiritual and eternal things. Remember how Satan tried to tempt Our Lord with the glory of all the kingdoms of the world? Once lured by the trinkets of earthly materialism, it’s not long until eternal treasures are completely surrendered.

Jesus himself said “Blessed are the poor” and I’ve always understood that to mean that being poor keeps the mind and heart directed to spiritual things.
Continuing on the idea of cultural degeneracy, perhaps the African resistance could also be traced to the fact that, as far as I know, they never experienced “the 60s.” That is, the assassinations of a President and his brother and of Martin Luther King; an extremely unpopular war in Vietnam, which generated widespread and sensationalized protests, esp. on college campuses; the explosion of the sexual revolution through the hippie phenomenon and contraception; extensive “civil rights” riots and disturbances and the appearance of such “movements” as the Black Power movement; the increasingly centralized control of the media and the rapid decay of media content through rock music and Hollywood (including Elvis and The Beatles) – in other words, the quiet, stable, boring, Ozzie & Harriet world of the 1950s was completely turned upside down and inside out.
And, of course, the Church was also turned upside down after Vatican II – but I wonder how much effort the “enemy within” put into transforming the African dioceses, compared to the European and American dioceses. Anyone have any information on that?

The scandal of the 8 year old boy going to school in a dress etc. and being called by a girls name continues. Could you please ask any bloggers to contribute to the debate specifically to identify for me, for future dialogue in the diocesese etc., the source of official church teaching on this issue and any other authoritative texts which could help me continue the battle against what an orthodox, pious priest has called the work of the devil.

That’s exactly what I thought – he coming across all surprised at the “emptying of the word Catholic” when he played a big role in bringing that about. LOL!
Africa has a history connected with homosexuality. Many chefs and kings in the past were homosexuals and used the children to satisfy themselves. We have in the Catholic Church a fest for the Ugandan Martyrs, young boys who refused the advances of a King. From such experiences the Afrian people have a very different point of view than Europe or America. At the moment supporting Homosexuals puts you among the ‘good guys’ but there are signs already that this will not last. The latest report is that 95% of men with Gonnorhea are homosexuals. We have the doctors in hospitals struggling to protect patients against homosexual ‘rights’ to give blood. And there is the warning of a superbug where there will be no cure for many forms of STD’s. The only friends the gay people have are those who tell them the truth – that it is not a healthy life style they have chosen.
I think that compared to we in the West, many of the African people have much harder lives.
They face “real” issues in life – famine, war, poverty, social instability, political corruption – and so I think that (i) their societies more easily recognise a need for God in their lives and (ii) the challenges they face mean they have a better sense of what is worthwhile and wholesome, and what is rubbish / fluff. They have to discern a lot more than we do. Africans work hard and think hard.
In contrast, we in the West have cushy, easy lives. We don’t need to think or work hard. Many (most?) people in our societies are non-thinking dull-wits who happily anaesthetise themselves daily with the television and drink deep of its unChristian messages – of greed, promiscuous sex, celebrity culture and, yes, homosexuality.
People don’t have “real” issues in the West. People feel hard done by if they can’t get a day off work, of if they feel short changed by the DSS. We speak of “poverty” despite having welfare systems – in reality, we don’t know the meaning of the word.
People in the West rarely have to discern what is good or bad for them, they glibly accept what the Government and Television – the new Gods – drop into their laps. If something bad comes of it, our victim culture absolves the non-thinking individual of blame anyway. A few “on message” celebrity endorsements help sway those who do not immediately swallow the pills they are given by the powers that be.
Africa still has strong communities and real leaders – leaders of families, of communities and of faith groups. African leaders are bold and speak plainly.
But in the west, many (most?) people look to celebrities for their example and their ideas. Celebrities, of course, will do and say exactly as they are told, in order to maintain their celebrity. Communities are fragmented and families broken, there are no leaders there (beyond the contrived realm of identity politics). Faith leaders in the West are too often simpletons & cowards who eagerly pander to politicians and who fear negative publicity.
In 2012, the UN leader Ban Ki Moon gave a speech calling for the global acceptance of homosexuality. Cardinal Robert Sarah, an Africa (Guinean), bluntly called the speech “pretty stupid”.
Could anyone imagine a Western Cardinal being so bold? No, instead we would get the usual waffle and drivel, not a blunt identification of stupidity. +++Sarah went on to note that any progress the homosexual agenda does make in Africa is only down to the “aid money” which comes with it – i.e. it buys its way in with dollars, it doesn’t convince with arguments.
Ultimately, Africa values faith and sees the need for God in the lives of individuals and communities. In large parts of the West, thanks to the inevitable failure of protestantism and the widespread presence of only token Catholicism, people deride faith and now consider themselves as Gods.

The truth is that people are dying on a grand scale because of abortion and contraception, which latter con, contrary to popular myth, does not protect against the AIDS virus or any other sexually transmitted disease. In fact, it’s not even guaranteed to prevent conception.
The laws of God and nature are not there to make our lives miserable, they are there to keep us safe and healthy. Casting them aside for illicit personal pleasure is like jumping out of a plane without a parachute in the hope of a soft landing. Madness!!
The really scummy people in this world are the ones who advocate freedom for human beings to behave worse than animals by indulging any and all sexual inclinations. They then have the nerve to blame God and religion when their recklessness gives rise to killer disease pandemics. Talk about hypocrisy!
