Marriage & Modernist Double-Speak…

Marriage & Modernist Double-Speak…

Extracts below from Catholic Herald article entitled: Cardinal lays out plan for parishes to implement Amoris Laetitia

Cardinal Donald Wuerl has issued a broad and detailed pastoral plan for parishes to implement Pope Francis’s post-synodal apostolic exhortation, Amoris Laetitia (“The Joy of Love”).

“Amoris Laetitia is a call to compassionate accompaniment in helping all to experience Christ’s love and mercy,” the Archbishop of Washington said in the 58-page pastoral plan.

The plan, “Sharing in the Joy of Love in Marriage and Family,” was posted on the archdiocesan website late on March 3. Cardinal Wuerl planned to officially introduce the document to the archdiocese with a Mass on March 4 at the Cathedral of St Matthew the Apostle…

“Some may ask, ‘Is the teaching [on marriage] always binding?’ The answer of course is yes,” he continued. “Yet Amoris Laetitia invites us to adopt a complementary perspective and to look with a parental attitude at those families who find themselves in a position where they struggle to even understand, let alone embrace fully, the teaching because of the concrete circumstances in which they live.”

Cardinal Wuerl said his pastoral plan is “directed to parishes, priests, religious and laity” and is meant “to encourage reflection” on:

• “The richness of the Church’s perennial teaching on love, marriage, family, faith and mercy.”
• “The essential aspect of pastoral ministry, called accompaniment.”
• “Several significant themes such as the new evangelisation, the role of conscience, and the privileged place of the parish where we find and experience Christ’s way of living and loving.”  Read entire article here

Comment:

So, “yes” Christ’s teaching on the indissolubility of marriage is always binding, but here’s how to get round it… is essentially what the Cardinal is saying in typical modernist double speak. After all, a competent teacher,  confronted by a student who “struggles to even understand, let alone embrace fully” a subject  puts his/her mind and skill to working out ways to explain the subject more fully, more clearly, but doesn’t change the truth to make it more palatable.  2 + 2 will never make 5, no matter how much the student (and exasperated teacher) wishes it were so.

Check out the bullet points – closely. Notice one of the “significant themes” is the role of conscience… Code for the heresy of “your choice,  your decision”, objective truth, objective morality does not exist but even if they do, well, rules are there to be broken, as the old saying goes. However it’s dressed up, and whatever the motivation, Amoris Laetitia (AL) is all about breaking the rules.

Still,  Cardinal Wuerl is a bit behind the AL times.  Here in the Archdiocese of Glasgow, we had retreats for priests and teachers almost as AL was rolling off the press, so chop-chop over there in the USA – we’re well ahead of you on this…

Editor has already ably undressed this insulting rubbish for the excrement that it is, but I’ll gladly be the Pat Condell of the blog [you can look him up on YouTube if you like] and go further: Cdl. Wuerl is a depraved spiritual criminal, one of the most notorious, sleazy and forked-tongue members of the Lavender Mafia, a former [?] member of the Teddy McCarrick Boys’ Club, a professional liar, an utter disgrace. His every devious utterance should be pronounced anathema.

Of course, since the lowerarchy is full of weasels like him, I’m sure this steaming heap of you-know-what will be touted ad nauseam. All in the name of “mercy,” you know. What an achievement: to describe the abomination of desolation as “pastoral accompaniment” and not only not be laughed off the face of the earth, but applauded!

One can only hope that he will awaken tomorrow and decide, as do so many others of the sick crowd to which he belongs, that he is a female – in which case he will immediately render himself ineligible to “accompany” souls to hell. Except for his own, that is – which is his sure destination if he does not repent.

[End of Pat Condell imitation…but not of my disgust and indignation…]

      RCA Victor,

That’s what gets me about this, it’s all done in the name of being “merciful”, as if encouraging people to live in sin can possibly be merciful! If someone suggested “accompanying” people who steal or kill until they decided to repent, there’d be an outcry, but it seems that as long as the sin is sexual, it’s okay. It really is amazing.

I’m interested in your saying Cardinal Wuerl is part of the Lavendar Mafia – does that mean he’s known to be a homosexual, an active homosexual? If so, it’s an utter disgrace that he’s not been made to resign.

        Lily,

Yes, he is a homosexual. As to whether he is still active, I don’t know and I don’t want to know….

        Lily,

This abuse of “mercy” actually started with John XXIII, who, in his opening speech to the Council, misused it himself. Here is the poison:

“The Right Way To Suppress Error

In these days, which mark the beginning of this Second Vatican Council, it is more obvious than ever before that the Lord’s truth is indeed eternal. Human ideologies change. Successive generations give rise to varying errors, and these often vanish as quickly as they came, like mist before the sun.

The Church has always opposed these errors, and often condemned them with the utmost severity. Today, however, Christ’s Bride prefers the balm of mercy to the arm of severity. She believes that, present needs are best served by explaining more fully the purport of her doctrines, rather than by publishing condemnations.”

There was a whole world of Ostpolitik and deceit behind that disarming (and false) statement. The Metz Pact with the USSR had been signed, in which the Church promised that the Council would not condemn Communism, as she had for generations.

There was the behind-the-scenes collusion between this two-faced Pope and certain Communist Cardinals, esp. Suenens, who were planning on overthrowing the prepared schema and replacing them with liberal mush, as well as replacing the membership of the Commissions with their own candidates.

All this is described in In the Murky Waters of Vatican II, as well as in numerous other places. So once again we can see how Pope Francis is merely carrying the Vat. II agenda to its logical, utterly destructive conclusion. The only good thing about the Francis effect is that the boiled frog syndrome no longer works: the water has become too hot for most Catholics to sit there and take it.

Most Catholics, that is, who are paying attention. I suspect that most of them are still clueless.

And RCA Victor….if Cardinal Burke et al had got off their backsides more than a year ago this thread would not have needed to be written up…it is TOO late..AL is a slam dunk as you would say…now coming down the turnpike is HV, followed by the debunking of Transubstantiation, approval of abortion and euthanasia (the latter being on a cost/benefit analysis by a so called ‘senior’ social worker), debunking of infallibility and anything else they can up with as they have more or less debunked sin, Hell, Purgatory, Limbo…..have I missed anything out ?

        St Miguel,

Perhaps Sacrilege, if the Holy Eucharist has been received by one who is unrepentant. But then, in the name of mercy, it is supposedly left to the individual’s conscience. It seems the Sacrament of Penance is more or less redundant.

        RCA Victor and Lily,

I agree this is certainly not in the “name of being merciful”. This only confirms people in their sin. How glibly Cardinal Wuerl lies!

        March 8, 2018 at 11:38 pm
      • St Miguel

Theresa Rose, look over the years at the prelates who gladly gave the Holy Eucharist to unrepentant anti-life politicians Kennedy, Pelosi et al and some even NON catholics as for example in South Africa….where a bishop gave communion to the CLINTONS !
Priests who do believe in sacrilege cannot possibly believe in Transubstantiation or mortal sin.

I take it you don’t like the Guy no wonder. Do these Cardinals Bishops Priests and any other who write about committing Adultery really believe that we actually believe them . Boy are they delusional. 58 Pages of Garbage where one sentence from St Augustine sums a Break up of a Catholic Marriage Bond where he states according to the Hardness of their hearts . St Augustine interprets this clause in the sense that in the case of Infidelity a Man may send away his Wife ( or vice versa ) . But neither one nor the other has the right to Marry again. Not 58 pages for Also from The Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ from Lebreton . Jesus corrected the Doctors of The Mosaic Law itself by bringing it into conformity with Almighty Gods primitive institution of Marriage as an Absolutely Idissoluble Contract . Unquote.

If you read the Wikipedia article on him, you will discover that Cdl. Wuerl was consecrated bishop in 1986 – i.e. by Pope “Saint” JPII. Furthermore, this vile creature was raised to the Cardinalate by “conservative” Pope Benedict in 2010. Certainly helps to have friends in high places, no matter how corrupt you are.

      RCA Victor,

It is nothing short of utterly disgraceful that popes have raised these men to the episcopate and made them cardinals knowing, more likely than not, about their sexual misbehaviour – and if they didn’t know, then they blankety-blank should have known.

Here in Glasgow we have the same situation – with scandal upon scandal, the archbishop promoting priests with a history of sexual “concerns” shall we say, even if they’ve hit the national press, such is the brazen level of their loss of true Catholicity.

We reported one such scandalous domestic situation in our January 17 newsletter, at the church house occupied by the Vicar General and his housekeeper. What’s to say that said VG won’t be appointed Auxiliary Bishop – the archbishop has been promised one, given his not-so-good health – that’s how bad things are here, and worsening all the time.

It’s certainly the case – I have no doubt about it – that priests and bishops who push for the “implementation” of AL are, themselves, more likely than not, living in a manner that is in contradiction to the Gospel imperative to chastity. Indeed, given certain situations in the Archdiocese of Glasgow, some of us are wondering if we are set for another scandal of Cardinal Keith Patrick O’Brien proportions. When a bishop ignores public scandals and promotes priests known to have been involved in sexual scandals, it’s a reasonable conclusion to draw, albeit unwillingly. Are there no sound priests to promote? No faithful priests? Why favour those causing scandal?

As for your remark above somewhere that Cardinal Wuerl is a homosexual although you’re not sure if he is “still active” – that implies there’s been open and public scandal about him. Certainly, he’s known to have covered up – encouraged even – homosexuality within the seminary. Shocking.

I keep thinking of the words of Saint John Fisher, the only English bishop to stand fast in the Faith at the time of the Protestant Reformation: “The fort has been betrayed, even by those who should have defended it.”

        Editor,

There is an entire website devoted to Cdl. Wuerl’s corruption, donaldwuerl.com, but I haven’t really examined it thoroughly. But here’s a clue: if you start typing “Cardinal Wuerl” in your browser search box, one of the auto-fill options that appears is “Cardinal Wuerl gay”!! Randy Engel has also written a lot about him, and about his homosexual mentor, Cardinal Wright.

AL is a key piece in the long-term Lavender Mafia strategy to have their abominable vice approved by the Church. Part of the idea is to loosen the bonds of doctrine and dogma with situation ethics, to create wiggle-room. Wuerl has mastered that part – if you can call his meaningless double-talk mastery of anything. Another part is to focus on feelings, esp. “love,” like this other vile creature Fr. James Martin, SJ.

Proof of this pudding is to note, as you did, how many of these “gay-friendly” bishops are circling the wagons around AL. The other proof is to note who is promoting and protecting Fr. Martin. Hint: his initials are Donald Wuerl.

Of course, there’s another one waiting in the wings whenever Cdl. Wuerl goes to his eternal reward: Cdl. Cupich of Chicago – also an adept at the forked-tongue routine, and also a defender and shelterer of Fr. Martin.

The Church needs nothing less than another Inquisition to rid herself of these poisonous men.

Another point is that Cdl Wuerl would/should not be issuing ‘pastoral’ anything if Cdl Burke had stuck the boot in to the current Pontiff when he should have…pathetic.

      St Miguel,

If by “sticking the boot in” you mean “publicly correcting” the current pontiff, I’m with you there. Big time. If you mean it literally, well, we’ll have to agree to disagree…

      St Miguel,

If I were you I would not be holding my breath waiting for Cdl. Burke to do something. He is obviously in a state of paralysis – or perhaps it is cowardice, or both. Nothing is going to come of the dubia, and so God will have to act instead.

      And I’m sure it won’t be pretty….

One day we will all have to render an account of ourselves to God. Do these prelates even think of that? Perhaps, says she charitably, their minds are so clouded that they sincerely cannot see the proverbial woods for the trees. Perhaps they genuinely have no sense of sin. I always remember being in the company of a rather “loose” man who reckoned that he would “repent” on his deathbed. One of his companions commented that ” you’ll be so immersed in your sinful way of life that you will be unable to repent”. I remember thinking that he might be run over by a bus! Whatever his demise, it won’t be pretty!

I think there is more to this with the endless scandals. If you were a juror watching this stuff, (like any criminal tv series) and watch the case for the prosecution and the defence and then the summing up, you would probably conclude the following:-

      a) A sizeable majority of the defendants NEVER for a moment believed in their vocation, only pretended to and now can’t even be bothered to pretend anymore.

      b) It was a hidey-hole to hide away from the general public who would be too deferential anyway to ask awkward questions.

      c) Plush lifestyle, no bills, free board and lodging, no taxes to pay, 5* travel to ‘synods’, seminars, stay in top notch accommodation, not a dish to wash etc.

      d) No fear of employer ‘rumbling’ you, no fear of job loss, no ‘annual appraisements’, no targets or objectives to meet, no feelings of job insecurity.

      e) Get to dress up in resplendent finery as demonstrated here,

      http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/news/2018/02/27/vatican-versace-and-vogue-team-up-to-exhibit-papal-vestments/

      f) Get on the telly, the news, cameras flashing galore, get fawned over by sycophants.

As they would in my business world, you can’t beat it with a big stick.

        St Miguel,

I’d be that juror who did not think these modern priests and bishops ever believed in their vocation and don’t think they need to pretend any more. That’s what I think is the truth, very sad though it makes me to say it.

      Crofterlady,

I agree about them having clouded minds. I know we’ve discussed this before, that the reason for the bishops and priests being so Uncatholic, is that they are experiencing spiritual blindness.

Sad to see this poisonous rubbish gradually spreading. Of course, Wuerl was always a likely candidate to seize upon this. he is a disgrace who would give communion to Satan himself if he turned up in the line.

RCA Victor makes an excellent point about how frustrating it is that Wueril managed to reach these lifty height thanks to JP2 and B16. (These post-conciliar Popes will never been on any “Best Pope ever” list, but even still it is disappointing that they advanced the careers of men like Wuerl).
