Where possible, we suggest that bloggers make and respond to calls to action in defence of the unborn child – whether that entails emailing MPs or supporting various vigils etc.

Among all the crimes which can be committed against life, procured abortion has characteristics making it particularly serious and deplorable. The Second Vatican Council defines abortion, together with infanticide, as an “unspeakable crime”.54
But today, in many people’s consciences, the perception of its gravity has become progressively obscured. The acceptance of abortion in the popular mind, in behaviour and even in law itself, is a telling sign of an extremely dangerous crisis of the moral sense, which is becoming more and more incapable of distinguishing between good and evil, even when the fundamental right to life is at stake. Given such a grave situation, we need now more than ever to have the courage to look the truth in the eye and to call things by their proper name, without yielding to convenient compromises or to the temptation of self-deception. In this regard the reproach of the Prophet is extremely straightforward: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness” (Is 5:20). Especially in the case of abortion there is a widespread use of ambiguous terminology, such as “interruption of pregnancy”, which tends to hide abortion’s true nature and to attenuate its seriousness in public opinion. Perhaps this linguistic phenomenon is itself a symptom of an uneasiness of conscience. But no word has the power to change the reality of things: procured abortion is the deliberate and direct killing, by whatever means it is carried out, of a human being in the initial phase of his or her existence, extending from conception to birth.

The moral gravity of procured abortion is apparent in all its truth
if we recognize that we are dealing with murder…

Wendy posted this link to a report in the Scottish Sun, on the previous pro-life thread, just before I closed it. I commented at the end of the report, and my comment went straight online, so it would be worthwhile adding your tuppence-worth to support the pro-life cause

      Pat McKay,

That’s shocking, really shocking, but I don’t think a lot of people would object – they’d see that as perfectly reasonable. That’s how bad things are now in moral terms.

Wendy, the point I am always trying to get across is the fact, as those two articles clearly demonstrate, that Rome is going soft on these subjects.

These are two fruits of the same tree. Humanae Vitae is now up for a revision/edit and so it goes on.

The rank and file parishioners are sleepwalking in to abortion being tacitly allowable as AL is used as the blueprint in ambiguity, subject to interpretation etc etc.

No one, priest, prelate, whomever, that I know, will touch these subjects with a 10 foot barge pole.

Wendy, what surprises and dismays me is the fact that the two links I posted yesterday, with respect to the Knights of Malta, who should be a mirror of sound Catholic Teaching (and are obviously not),merits not a comment on the blog.

However people will reply to blogs about Glasgwegian accents and bagpipes.

As I have said before, (as those articles adequately demonstrate), the Catholic Church has gone soft on abortion and contraception.

      • Lily

        St Miguel,

That may be because on this blog we have known for a long time that the Knights of Malta are not “a mirror of sound teaching”, which we learned when discussing the sacking of Fra Festing.

I didn’t comment on the blog about crude Scotsmen either because (like others, I presume) I haven’t got the time I would like to have to give to blogging. I comment when I can and I think it goes without saying that Catholics who blog here are pro-life. We don’t need to comment on every article to prove that.

Also, I have learned on this blog, if I didn’t know it already, that “the Catholic Church” has not gone soft on abortion and contraception. I’ve learned to tell the difference between the Knights of Malta and Christ’s Church.

        St Miguel,

There’s really not a lot to add to Lily’s response, but, for your interest, here is a previous thread where we discussed the scandal of the Knights of Malta

I’m interested, though, in your remark about the “Crude Scotsmen” thread – given your silence in that discussion, we might take it that you consider purity and modesty of speech to be unimportant. We might, but we won’t. There’s no “Thou shalt blog” commandment, and, as Lily says, people blog when they are free to do so. Those who rightly regard it as a meaningful apostolate are, perhaps, more regular contributors but that doesn’t mean others, who blog now and then, are any less “Catholic”.

And certainly, we are all committed pro-lifers – there’s no question about that, although it’s nearly impossible to comment on every link posted – Wendy is a whirlwind who would be able to earn a living on TV working the “Breaking News” ticker-tape! We can’t keep up with her!

Anyway, hopefully, we will meet at our Public Rosary for the unborn children at risk in Ireland. Watch for the advertisement, coming soon!

I have heard many, many, so called ‘crude people’ from all over the world, including American English, Welsh and Irish. I have worked in heavy industry throughout my life and worked with many men, some who really did have a ‘fry up on a shovel’…that is not made up. I worked in some of the worst weather and in seriously inhospitable terrain. I can tell you that some of the men I worked with may have sworn like troopers and sometimes we would joke that a certain ‘word’ was almost like a comma in speech!

However, I would have trusted these men with my life and often had to do so and what I can tell you is that I have met more men with more humanity (atheists included), than almost all of the effete clergy we see in Dioceses up and down this country and abroad.

Straight and to the point, no mind games like spivs in suits working in offices and board rooms all over the world, working on their next get rich quick racket.

We have liars and conmen, sex scandals galore among the polite political classes and you can see them at work on TV discussion and interviews and they may speak eloquently but that cuts no ice with me.

Whether the Knights of Malta, the Vat Pack and Cardinals galore, they could not hold a candle to some of the ‘sweary’ men I have met in my life.

As regards the ‘accent’…..we also have a famous Kelvinside accent you know, (which would give the Edinburghers a run for their money),example as follows.

Well dressed fur coated Kelvinside lady going in to a bakers in Byres Road.

‘excuse me young lady is that a doughnut or a meringue’? she asks.
‘naw ye wur right the furst time hen, it’s a doughnut!

So, I was actually correct – purity and modesty of speech, no big deal, as far as you are concerned.

I dislike false dichotomies. In other words, because there are crooks and swindlers with posh accents, doesn’t excuse the working men using crude language.

In fact, one of my clearest, if saddest, memories of visiting homes as a member of the Legion of Mary in my (very working class) parish in Glasgow some years ago, is that of a gentleman who was not a Catholic, who told us that he worked alongside one of the pillars of our parish, and – he said – if anyone would put him off the Church, it was that foul-mouthed colleague.

You see, St Miguel, not all working class men (and women) are unable to conduct a conversation without using the kind of “commas” to which you refer.

Most of us are disgusted by it. And it’s always a pity to find Catholics who are not only accepting of such filthy talk but actually defending it.

    The Reverend Abbot Martin Shipperlee

Ealing Abbey, (Parish Office) Date: 24th March 2018

    2 Marchwood Crescent E-mail / post

    Ealing

    W5 2DZ

    Dear Reverend Abbot Shipperlee,

RE: Consultation on a PSPO – Buffer Zones in Mattock Lane, Ealing

Following our reading of the document that was issued by Ealing Council in January 2018 entitled “Consultation on a Public Spaces Protection Order (“PSPO”), Addressing Behaviours Outside the Marie Stopes Clinic in Mattock Lane”, we were (as are many) extremely concerned to read the following excerpt at page 4 of the aforesaid publication –

“Ealing Abbey’s position is that the church does not organize or coordinate the vigil/ protests. Ealing Abbey is committed to defending the right to ‘peaceful prayer’; however they have outlined their concerns with some of the behaviours of Pro-Life vigil members.[Ed: this bold section is underlined in the original letter, hence references below to “underlined” words refer to this section in bold.]

In the light of that particular comment, we are anxious (as the many other pro-life individuals on whose behalf we are writing) that, in the absence of an explanation for this stance underlined), the position is one that could well mitigate against the pro-life vigil group participants who take part in witnessing at the Mattock Lane site.

Therefore, we should be obliged if you would kindly advise us (in confidence, if necessary) what the background is to that underlined statement and who was responsible for making that statement to Ealing Council; additionally, did the making of this statement arise out of some form of misunderstanding?

Equally, had the communicator of the statement been confused about who was actually appearing at the Mattock Lane site? For instance, had the communicator confused the’ pink-top’ –wearing fascist pro-death street brigade, SISTER SUPPORTER (“SS”) group as somehow being associated with a pro-life vigil presence?

The refusal of pro-life groups to ‘conform’ to any ‘compromise’ as set out by Ealing Council is an entirely correct and proper one – fully in accord with the law on freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. As our Open Letter to Theresa May MP dated 12th January 2018 clearly sets out, the pro-life movement has the authority of statute, common law and human rights’ legislation (and with no arrests, prosecutions, cautions or reprimands in 23 years!) on their side.

It is Ealing Council that is utterly determined to violate the essential protections to free speech and assembly in conjunction with the MP (who is providing the leadership of the SS brigades) for Ealing Central and Acton, Rupa Huq.

Should matters progress to a challenge over the legality of buffer zones (as Ealing Council seems determined to ensure that it will) the life groups will need to marshal all the necessary rebuttals to this arbitrary and anti-democratic action by the Council and its abortion industry cohorts.

It was indeed fortunate that in Nottingham recently, an injunction served against Doctor John Edwards of 40 DFL by Nottinghamshire City Council (“NCC”), preventing him from taking part in the pro-life vigil outside of the grounds of QMC Hospital for the 40 days of Lent, was lifted and discharged by the Judge, His Honour Judge Owen. An attempt by the Council to extend the injunction to other members of the vigil also failed. Judge Owen further ruled that there was no basis on the evidence brought before the court for directing, as requested by NCC, that the matter go to full trial. Doctor Edwards said that [ ]”This was a deeply misguided attempt by the [NCC] to attack free speech simply because they disagreed with our point of view.”

We trust that the urgency of the debate will not be lost in translation – The SS brigade openly bragged of their ‘invasion’ of the Ealing Abbey precinct – SS say on the 9th April 2017 that –

“Yesterday, we took a different approach…we decided if the pro-lifers thought it was ok to bring their beliefs to the doorstep of women’s health, we were going to bring our beliefs to THEIR doorstep!

We stood outside Ealing Abbey, giving them a taste of how it might feel. This was intimidating enough for them to sneak out the back exit (oh the irony) but we decided we weren’t going to let their pro-life procession go on without a fight! We literally sprinted after them and got in front of their parade for the whole route through Ealing. We ended at the clinic, joined by more sisters successfully blockading them from the entrance and view of clinic users. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to support us and send them a message!”

This was the occasion to which the Reverend Peter Burns referred to in his recent letter to the Tablet – From “Acts of Witness against abortion”:

“ [ ] Several months ago, I was called to the front of the Abbey Church by a parishioner alarmed that a group of protesters was intimidating and imperiling the safety of elderly parishoners exiting the church [ ]. I witnessed a group of pink-clad protesters who had come onto Abbey premises to stand in two phalanxes down the Abbey steps. They were clearly seeking confrontation with a pro-life group who had been attending [the Abbey].”

We are aware that the SS brigade is being privately funded to cause disruption and this is apparent in respect of their uniforms (in breach of the Public Order Act 1936 – forbidding the wearing of a uniform for the attainment of a political objective; prosecutions can only be made with the assent of the Attorney-General). The recent Daily Mail investigation into the sum of money provided by Max Mosley – (son of the British Union of Fascists’ leader, Sir Oswald Mosley (the black shirts)) to Tom Watson, totaling £540,000 is, we believe, partially funding this endeavour on behalf of the abortion industry.

Therefore, we should be obliged if you would kindly supply us with the necessary background information at your earliest opportunity to facilitate a robust defence to the actions of the Council.

We maintain that the safety and well-being of expectant mothers and their unborn children who unwittingly present at the Mattock Lane site demands no less and that the final word should go to the Reverend Burns in his letter’s final paragraph: –

“If conscientious objectors to the taking of innocent human life before birth are not to be entitled to make some act of witness outside the places where this killing takes place on such a huge scale, and if those offering some alternative to it are to be silenced, then the liars and murderers who foster this trade have triumphed.”

    Many thanks.

    Dear All
We need lots of letters please use this one as a template if you so wish to Ealing Abbey ..thanking you

      Wendy,

That is a brilliant letter – if these buffer zones materialise, I hope that the pro-life organisations are able to fund a legal challenge, which – hopefully – would bring the same positive judgment as that delivered in Nottingham by Judge Owen.

The mischevious diabolical Sister Supporter group cannot be permitted to get away with their disgraceful tactics of disruption which they then blame on the peaceful pro-lifers. Truly diabolical.

Wendy, brilliant letter,I have just written to Ealing Abbey for an explanation.

I just heard from a relative who is closely involved in the pro-life movement and she has said 500 babies have been saved from murder by these fantastic pro-life people in the last five years(I know this involves Ealing clinic) I think the buffer zones will be starting next week in Ealing.

ALL Catholics have a duty to stop abortion (and all contraception – one of the biggest causes of abortion) if they bring in the buffer zone and it could be nationwide, do you have any alternate plans. If only we could wake “Catholics” up to this horror and advocate an hour or more in prayer, Mass, Rosary daily/ weekly to end this genocide.

Wendy, the acid test in my humble opinion is WHEN is a CARDINAL, as in Vincent Nichols, going to stand and LEAD the prayers at such an event.

The answer is NEVER…my question is always going to be WHY ???

      March 24, 2018 at 4:18 pm
      • Lily

        St Miguel,

I think you seem to be just catching up, just learning about the crisis in the Church. For years and years Archbishop/Cardinal Nichols has been pushing his own agenda, gay Masses in Soho, same-sex unions and so he is highly unlikely to be leading prayer vigils against abortion. He’ll never say it, but I’d bet he would class himself as “pro-choice”.

You really ought to stop being so surprised at these things – they are all part of the diabolical disorientation which Sister Lucy (Fatima) warned about. You ask “why” he doesn’t lead prayers at a prolife vigil, well, that’s your answer. He is part of the apostasy, warned of at Fatima, and apostasy means a loss of faith.

Found this interesting..and if Editor reading this, I will reiterate my thoughts on the Church of Rome.

The VAT PACK running the show care not a whit about any of this, as they are too busy backstabbing each other in the quest for career advancement and an easier and cushier lifestyle.

This attitude permeates to the lower echelons in the diocese around the world…they do NOT lead by example, they do NOT rock the boat, but will absolutely put the boot in big time to any one who calls them out.

For the record I do NOT believe that Christ has abandoned his Church, I believe that the custodians/churchmen have abandoned the church I grew up in.

    April 8, 2018 at 2:20 pm
    • editor

      St Miguel,

Your last sentence is correct but your apparent creation of a different Church earlier in your post (and in previous comments) is a tad confusing.

There IS only one Church – the Church of Christ to which some (especially Protestants!) refer as “the Church of Rome”…

Weak, faithless churchmen causing scandal in the Church is nothing new. Think: Judas Iscariot. And, to add chaos to the confusion, the “reforms” that have been foisted on us since Vatican II are causing millions to lose the Faith. It’s shocking. At our level, the answer is simple: don’t participate. Have nothing to do with the “reforms”. Get thee to the ancient Mass, pray the traditional Rosary and do NOT present for Holy Communion if you are living in an adulterous partnership.

      Simple!

      April 8, 2018 at 7:54 pm
      • St Miguel

If the chaos and confusion/reforms cause millions to lose their faith, would God in his mercy understand that it may not be their fault if they had trusted their clergy, bishops and Popes to lead them ?

        April 8, 2018 at 10:05 pm
      • editor

        St Miguel,

While it is true that God will, of course, take everything into account when judging a soul, that will include the fact that we have a duty to keep ourselves educated in the Faith and that, especially, in a time of crisis. God always gives us all that we need to save our souls. Think of the Japanese Catholics who had no priests for over 200 years – God never abandons us.

I remember once, in conversation with a priest, expressing sympathy for young priests who were born and ordained into this crisis. The priest said “no”, I should not feel such sympathy because those young priests have the same access to books, Church history, papal encyclicals pre-Vatican II, not to mention the internet, that the rest of us have. It’s up to each person to inform themselves and to be all the more dutiful during a time of manifest crisis.

In short, while God will undoubtedly take account of all relevant factors at our judgment, we cannot use that as an excuse to slacken or fall away, because His grace is always available to us.

At the same time, those negligent popes, bishops and priests will face an horrendous judgment for their part in causing confusion and either losing souls or putting souls at risk by their failure to behave as true shepherds who teach and defend the Faith. The remark that “the floors/walls of Hell are paved with the skulls of bishops” is attributed to a number of saints, but whoever said it, was, undoubtedly, spot on. Those who court this world instead of clinging fast to the Faith will surely hear those terrible words at their judgment: “YOU have had your reward…”

You may not agree with me Editor, but my opinion is that the SSPX is the only lifeboat we now have.

The Curia and anyone with influence are already down the road of protestantising the Holy Catholic and Apostolic church as best they can and would love to scupper any traditionalists at any opportunity.

Therefore could it have been God’s Will that the Reconciliation with Rome did not eventually take place ?

Is that what you mean, if so I can give my mind a rest !

      • editor

        St Miguel,

Again, alongside the SSPX you seem to worry about the German Church but the Germans said way back even before the Synod on the family (or early on during it, can’t quite recall) that they are not a “subsidiary” of Rome, that they would do their own thing regarding Holy Communion for adulterers, so we know that they are outwith Vatican control – they are de facto in schism. And they are not alone, believe me!

        April 9, 2018 at 10:23 am
      • St Miguel

Totally agree that they are in schism, but why are they NEVER called out on this, while the world attacks the SSPX and still throws the word schismatic about like confetti.

Look at the Lehman link and what they were proposing 20 years before AL…notice the names Kasper etc.

It is the proverbial elephant in the room.

My reasoning is that their mindset is so steeped in modernism/liberalism that they are never going to change.

THAT is the nature of the crisis! If they were “called out for it” – i.e. anathematized by Pope and Vatican, there wouldn’t BE a crisis.

I wonder if the Rome government would have ordered that poster to be removed if the Pope was crystal clear about the evil of abortion? I don’t think so. This awful pope proves the truth of the words of Christ, if we are not for him we are against. Equivocation is evil.

      Wendy,

I’ve submitted the following comment on the Tom Utley article but it has not been published, at least, not yet…

I watched a female Labour MP arguing against women’s choice to wear fur, in a recent TV discussion on the subject. She was animated in her defence of animals having the right to keep their fur, yet against the right of the unborn baby to his or her life. Confused minds – terrifying to think of the power they hold over us.

It’s a pity Tom U gives any quarter at all to the allegations against the pro-lifers outside the Ealing Clinic. As they have said over and over again, produce the film from the clinic camera which is trained on the front gates. If the Good Counsel Network were guilty of any of the allegations, there would be the proof, but the clinic has steadfastly refused to produce the film. As for their log book and the complaints from residents, it is noteworthy that the harassment and noise complaints date since the arrival of the “pro-choice” Sister Supporter group. Previously, the residents did not complain because there was nothing to complain about. This is a stitch up.

How to keep Ireland Pro-Life at the upcoming Abortion Referendum
    Family Life International
    Today, 11:00
    You

    Dear friends of Life,
We are looking for people who can give up 3 or 4 days to spend in the Republic of Ireland to help persuade the general population to preserve the life of the unborn Child in Ireland.

As you may be aware the pro-aborts want to change the laws in Ireland to permit the killing of the unborn child. Unless you and I stand to defend these children then the Republic will go the way of the United Kingdom.

We have joined with Gregg Cunningham who runs the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform whose organisation is working to establish prenatal justice and the right to life for the unborn, the disabled, the infirm, the aged and all vulnerable peoples.

As you know there are no abortion mills in Ireland but if the referendum is passed in May 2018, they will become common place. In an effort to save Irish babies we need your help. Those of you who feel that you would like to do something, all you need to do is register with Family Life International by Phone or e-mail.

We are looking for people with conviction, who are prepared to hold signs in strategic places for a few days during April and May. You do not have to speak or articulate opposition to abortion to anyone, just be a witness for the Life of the Unborn Child. Accommodation is organised and provided and all activities have been agreed and approved with the local and legal authorities.

So if you would like to support the project for Life give us a call as soon as possible.

    Yours In Christ

      Wendy,

I am giving thought to going over, but would prefer to be simply handing out leaflets and talking to people. Only holding signs doesn’t appeal to me (although I think they are important to have as well) because I think we need to work hard to overcome the “pro-choice” propaganda on a one-to-one conversational basis. No need for in-depth medical knowledge – the child conceived is either a human being or not. If a human, then nobody has the right to kill it. That’s about all anyone needs to know. The pro-abortionists write off signs and claim that the medical facts given by pro-lifers are fake. So, keep the message simple and factual. Circumstances can change so it cannot be right to end the life of an unborn child because of the immediate circumstances of the mother. She should be supported and her circumstances changed for the better to allow the child to be born – adoption should be an option, not murder. Keep, as I say, the message simple and factual.

Nobody ever says they are expecting a clump of cells or a foetus. They conceive a child and that is what they say when sharing the news – even those who end up thinking of abortion, speak of expecting a baby. So, that would be my approach and I’m always puzzled at the formal pro-life movement’s insistence on either standing praying but not answering questions (as happened at the 40 days for life vigil in Glasgow which I attended, last year) or standing with signs but, again, not speaking to passers by. Not effective, in my opinion.

Thinking it over, and checking my diary…

I’ve just been informed of a new pro-life groups being established at the University of Aberdeen. I can’t copy their flyer as it appears on the page, but here is the text of the flyer.

Every day on average 552 abortions take place in Britain.

Is this indicative of a just and equitable nation?

We are the Aberdeen Life Ethics Society.

We believe it’s time for pro-life students at the University of Aberdeen to have a voice.

To this report, I say, where are the rest of the English bishops? Why are they not calling out this disgraceful attack on pro-life activists?
    https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/buffer-zones-and-abortion-clinics-why-this-english-bishop-is-concerned-31135

Indeed, if they had a Catholic bone between them in their collective bodies, the entire hierarchy of the UK would have spoken out vociferously against this proposed – now realised – suppression of free speech.

The pro-life group is still allowed to gather to pray and hand out leaflets, i.e. approach women a distance away from the abortion clinic in Ealing, but as the lady who represents the Good Counsel Network said on a BBC programme which was published on the Pro-Choice Nottingham website, where I saw it, (having stopped watching BBC, since the broadcast of the anti-Catholic homo propaganda video), if they really were guilty of harassing and intimidating women, they shouldn’t be allowed to stand and hand out leaflets anywhere!

The dumbells hadn’t thought of that and were momentarily stumped, including the hapless interviewer, Victoria Derbyshire. Thick as mince. Difference is, I love mince…

        St Miguel,

I wrote: “Where are the rest of the English bishops”. I’d have quoted Cardinal Nichols if he’s spoken out, so we can take it that he approves of (or at least doesn’t object/doesn’t care about) the ban on free speech outside abortion clinics. He might care if those praying were Muslims or LGBT lobbyists, but Catholics? Gerrourahere!

Yep, what a shower, I reckon he does not care.

Just watched an episode of Law and Order, the US series with Sam Waterstone…..now a strange statement arose in the courtroom, where someone who witnessed a murder and did not report it was charged with :- ‘Depraved indifference to the crime of murder.’ A custodial sentence if found gulity.

Got me thinking about that expression and I would think that expression says a lot about society today.

      Pat,

Not a whisper on any news broadcast I’ve seen, nor headlined in any of the newspapers, to the best of my knowledge.

Given that the shocking incident happened at the Ealing clinic, focus of the demands for a buffer zone, this is highly suspicious and smells of a cover-up – with bells on. But then the Care Quality Commission damning reports of the Marie Stopes Clinic only got a passing mention on the TV news and that only once, to the best of my recollection. Given that the 24 hour channels repeat the most yawn yawn stuff all day long and into the next day, this is significant evidence, as if any were needed, of the media bias in favour of the murder of the unborn child.

All, of course, aided and abetted by those soft “pro-lifers” who want to keep the truth about abortion from the public domain. I never cease to be amazed at the fact that some, few or many I’m not sure, disapprove of graphic images of the murdered babies being shown. If I were a baby in the womb at risk, I’d be thinking “with friends like these, who needs enemies”?

I am just dumbfounded at the news about Alfie Evans, the little boy being held at Alder Hey hospital in England. After having his life support removed he is breathing fine on his own, and now the Judge has said he can go home but not allowed to go to Rome where specialists have offered treatment and even had an air ambulance waiting near the hospital to take him there.

I am thunderstruck at the idea that a court can ban parents from taking a child out of the country.

How can this possibly be? Can doctors and lawyers hold children prisoner against their parents’ wishes? I really am stunned at this and hope someone can explain how it can be.

    April 24, 2018 at 9:31 pm
    • St Miguel

Lily I am baffled as well, if he can leave the hospital to go home, then why not somewhere else, he is leaving the hospital anyway?

Could it be that they want to prove their point and let the child die, AS AN EXAMPLE TO US….don’t dare ever again question their judgement ?

They are seemingly gobsmacked that DESPITE their prognosis the child is still alive. Can’t have ANOTHER case of a child getting cured or in any way getting life improvement by medics in ANOTHER country as happened with Ayesha King.

As for the Judge, it looks like they are determined to not create legal precedent and have us, the great unwashed, getting above ourselves and straining the coffers of our bankrupt nation.

Always money for wars….112 Cruise missiles in to Syria at £1million dollars a piece….new phenomena ‘Virtue Bombing’.

      Lily,

Following our recent blog ‘The ideological insanity of state control’, we have been inundated with requests for a petition calling for a ban on contraceptive implants for underage girls.

Please sign our new petition to the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care

    http://www.citizengo.org/en/signit/160969/view

    Stop promotion of underage sex.
Ban contraceptive implants for underage girls.

Recent figures released by NHS Digital and reported in the national press (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-5614063/Contraceptive-implants-given-girls-young-12-NHS.html#ixzz5Cp9mdRKm), reveal that in the past two years 10,593 contraceptive implants have been given to schoolgirls below the age of 15 – some even as young as 12 – without their parents’ knowledge or consent.

This is wrong at a number of levels:

    1. Although sexual activity from puberty onwards has become common, the legal age for consent in this country remains 16, which means that sex below this age is a criminal offence. The policy of giving contraceptive implants to underage girls, without their parents’ knowledge or consent, is therefore encouragement to commit a criminal offence.

    2. Underage sexual activity exposes children to a range of STIs, currently already at epidemic levels amongst young people. Many of these infections (such as gonorrhoea) are becoming increasingly untreatable, and some are life threatening.

    3. Short of disease, there are a variety of highly unpleasant side effects resulting from hormonal manipulation, ranging from weight gain and acne to the risk of adult infertility and embolism.

    4. The long-term effects of such intervention are still unknown, but there is already established susceptibility to adult infertility (mentioned above) and cancer.

    5. Rendering girls ‘infertile’ for a period of up to three years can only increase their susceptibility to sexual abuse and exploitation, leaving predators free to rape them without fear of repercussions. This in turn means that identifying child victims and acting to keep them safe will become far more difficult. All of which has justly led to this policy being called State facilitation of rape.

At every level this is wrong. Children can never ‘belong’ to the State, and they should not be subjected to State sexualisation programmes designed to justify adult proclivities and desires.

FACT : Parents have a right and duty to protect their child.
FACT : Children’s brains are not fully developed until the age of 25. They lack the emotional and intellectual maturity to make life-changing decisions.
CONCLUSION : Parents must be fully informed and consulted on all decisions affecting the future development and welfare of their children. They, and they alone, have the right and duty to make such decisions on their child’s behalf.

For all these reasons, we call for a total ban on the insertion of contraceptive implants in underage girls without their parents’ knowledge and written consent.

Article which has just appeared in Die Welt- the top German newspaper. They interview Professor Haas who is the head of the Child Cardiology and Paediatric Intensive Medicine Unit at Munich University Hospital. He says what is happening [to Alfie] would be totally unacceptable in Germany given the history of Nazi times.

I suspect the answer to Margaret Mary’s question above is, no, there are NO pro-life judges in the UK. Either that, or he/she is being kept from judging cases of life and death such as this one.

    Dear WENDY WALKER,

As you may have heard, last night Amber Rudd resigned as Home Secretary and this morning she has been replaced by Sajid Javid.

Sajid Javid will now become the new target for abortion lobbyists who will be putting immense pressure on him to introduce censorship zones nationwide. If this were to happen, vital support options that pro-life vigils provide to women outside abortion centres will be banned nationwide.

As Sajid moves into his new position, we need to ensure it is very clear to him that he should not cave into pressure from abortion advocates and reject their proposals to introduce bans on offering support outside abortion clinics nationwide.

If you haven’t already done so, can you please visit our website now and write to your MP asking them to contact Sajid Javid and urge him to oppose the introduction of censorship zones outside abortion clinics.

We have set up a function there with a pre-written email for you so it will only take two minutes for you to write to your MP. Once you have done this, please then ask your friends and family to do the same.

    Here is a question :- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_Act_1967

Can anyone answer this…..if the Queen had NOT given Royal Assent in October 1967….what would have happened, constitutionally?

Did Elizabeth II Regina knew what she was giving Royal Assent to?

When she took her 1953 ‘Coronation Oath’, did she not vow to ‘uphold the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel’?

One of His Laws is ‘Thou Shalt Not Kill’ – or perhaps this one was a mere suggestion?

Interesting. Could it be that at least some of the very liberal and pro-abort media writers are beginning to see the light?

Yes, St Miguel, we’ve discussed this briefly in the recent past. Seems there’s to be no “abortion free” zone anywhere in the vicinity of the UK>

8.30pm – Midnight = Eucharistic Procession by candlelight with the praying of the Rosary (with music by the Dominican Youth Movement); a Presentation on Our Lady of Guadalupe; devotions; and reflective music by Catholic musicians

On the 5th of May, large numbers of so-called ‘pro-life’ groups from across the UK are planning to gather together to host a conference (‘Lifefest’) and march (the ‘March for Life’) over the course of the weekend, in opposition to women’s right to control their own fertility and their own bodies. We need to protect the rights we currently have under law, and show that we care about women everywhere whose bodily freedom and safety are under threat.

What can I do to disrupt this?
CALL THE VENUE (De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms 0208 712 1930) to ask them not to host a conference dedicated to restricting women’s choices and harassing them at their most vulnerable moments.
Join the March for Choice in Parliament Square at 1pm on Saturday to demonstrate in favour of choice and show we want abortion to be safe and legal everywhere, and for women to make their own choices without fear of harassment or shaming.

    What’s happening?
9:30-1:00 Workshops at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms
    1:00-4:00 March through London

    Who’s speaking?
Abort67, who are known for their unpleasant and inaccurate imagery of fetuses, and use of shock tactics.
Life, a group who operate a large network of ‘crisis pregnancy centres’ which misleadingly claim to offer help and advice to ‘anyone facing a crisis pregnancy’ – while in reality they exist to pressurise vulnerable women into keeping unwanted pregnancies.
Mary Doogan, a midwife who launched an unsuccessful case citing conscientious objection to abortion procedures in her midwifery duties
SPUC (society for the protection of unborn children) campaigner Dr Anthony McCarthy, who gleefully campaigns against ‘gender ideology’ and its threat to the modern family
The Alliance of Pro-life Students, who have started targeting students at freshers’ fairs this year
Bernadette Smyth, who has been convicted for harassment of women outside of abortion clinics

Perhaps most insidiously, they plan to have a ‘Mercy Bus’ available, giving women the opportunity to ‘repent’ for having abortions.

    How to call the venue:
Call the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms enquiry line:
    0208 712 1930
Stay friendly and polite, but tell them firmly that you’re unhappy that they are hosting a conference with speakers who are known to harass and pressurise vulnerable women. Say you hope that they’ll reconsider. If you feel up to it, call every day to see if they’ve changed their decision.
Get your friends and family to do the same – it takes five minutes to make a phone call but it can be extremely powerful. If we put pressure on the businesses who support these events, it will be much more difficult for them to happen.

    How to counter-demonstrate:
Come into London! We will be organising buses from a number of cities for anyone who’s interested. March for Life itinerary: http://www.marchforlife.co.uk/2018-itinerary/

I think this pressure could make the difference – it sounds like Connaught are worried about their reputation

        St Miguel,

Your final paragraph is exactly what we have been saying all the years in which our humble apostolate has been operating. I’ve lost count of the number of emails and calls I used to get saying (in effect): “Bishop/Cardinal X is in the Herald/Scotsman today saying abortion must end! Everything’s going to be fine, isn’t that wonderful” Interestingly, I don’t get those calls/messages any more. The penny has dropped, at least in some cases…

Having said that, at least Bishop Keenan has gone on the public record at the March for Life in London recently, at a time when pro-life activists are being outlawed (think: London Buffer Zones) – and he mentions one English Bishop (Egan) who apparently spoke at the event, so that is something. Not a lot but something. I am surprised at Bishop Keenan, actually, since he is a big fan of Papa Francis who told us not to “obsess” over abortion, so maybe the Bishop is risking promotion, just this once in order to publicly “obsess”. Small mercies, St Miguel we must be thankful for small mercies…

One pro-life event that you WON’T find Bishop Keenan attending is our public rosary in Edinburgh next Saturday, 12 May, outside the Irish Consulate. Catholic Truth is not a pro-life organisation per se but set up to fight the crisis in the Church – and if we didn’t have a crisis in the Church, as, again we’ve said for years now, we’d be unlikely to have evil laws such as abortion. Go figure!

Has anyone heard a peep from Pope Francis about the upcoming referendum in Ireland? I find it utterly pathetic that he has scheduled a visit AFTER the vote.

    May 7, 2018 at 10:19 am
    • Lily

      Michelangelo,

To be fair, I think I’m right in saying the Pope’s visit was arranged before they announced the date of the referendum. It was the government who chose May so that, among other things, the referendum would be over with before the Pope visited.

What will definitely be interesting is what Pope Francis says about the referendum when he visits. Will he condemn a pro-abortion vote if the worst happens? I can’t see it.

      May 7, 2018 at 11:09 am
      • Michelangelo

I’ve had a look at the dates; the press were speculating a May date for the referendum before the papal visit was announced. If he really is engaged in the pro-life argument, he’d have done his homework or waited until the referendum was announced. I agree that he’ll say very little.

        May 7, 2018 at 12:20 pm
    • St Miguel

Exactly and now is that the time he should be hammering the point home to the Irish population, doubt if we will.

This visit is total claptrap showbiz nonsense and the the Irish congregations have to take a financial hit as well to PAY towards the visit, 20 million Euros was the last figure I seen…When Benedict the 16th came to Glasgow in 2010 the local churches were CHARGING us to go..£10.00 a head as an ‘offering’…I was asked to cough up a tenner!

Again I have to say what about HIS carbon footprint, global travel nonsense… basically it just another HOLIDAY for him…photo ops galore..Time Magazine Man of the Year stuff…self-promotion.

Someone tell HIM..he is killing the planet with the amount of jetting about.

And if the Irish VOTE FOR IT…then what..is he going to stand on the world stage and pillory the Irish Catholics…doubt it.

What is it these days, when we have Skype, video conferencing, Facetime and whatever that heads of this that and the next HAVE to jet off to Davos, 5 star hotels and such to ‘attend’ conferences, synods and whatever and then lecture US about global warming….the truth is they cannot resist going off on a jolly, especially when the mugs are footing the bill.

      Pat,

Fidelis has posted this on the Ireland thread – I think it would be good if we could keep every report about the Irish referendum on that thread
      https://catholictruthblog.com/2018/04/02/join-us-for-public-angelus-rosary/#comments

Both the General Discussion and this Pro-Life thread get filled up very quickly, and then are closed down and a fresh line opened, so it’s easier to trace comments if they are on any dedicated threads available. So, if everyone would try to remember to check the sidebar or scroll down a little to see if there is a “sticky” thread at the top – the Irish thread will be there until after our Public Rosary next Saturday – it would be helpful to keep the discussions on general pro-life issues and the Irish referendum separate, at least under after the referendum. Please and thank you!

A Call to all Priests and Laity – 8 hours Adoration to #savethe8th

Friday 25th May 2018 is a monumental day fast approaching. What is happening this day. We’ll if you don’t know for several years now many doctors in Ireland have been sending pregnant women to England for abortions. The High Court has determined that the 8th Amendment in the Irish Constitution is the only legal protection that a baby in the womb has right now.

What should be cast in stone is now being challenged by the forces for so called “freedom of choice” for the Mother, and the Irish public are now being asked to repeal this protection for the “voiceless” unborn in the womb. Remember that it has been stated that 100,000 lives haven been saved by this Constitutive Act passed on 7th September 1983. Remember in addition, that the safest place in the world should be inside the womb of the mother but this has become nowadays the most dangerous place for survival. Abortion is now the greatest cause of death worldwide with about 50 million lives of our brothers and sisters taken each year.

Why is this referendum so important for us in the UK and in fact globally. Not just because Ireland is geographically so close, or because many of us are from Irish Descent, but the legal and political protection of the unborn by the Eighth Amendment has been identified as a “bastion” and watertight piece of legislation. If this falls then the “domino” or ripple effect could have major consequences in all countries who are pushing for more liberal abortion laws. Even in the UK, we have already seen political appetite for “decriminalization” of abortion. Where will we end in this cycle, perhaps even infanticide.

What can we do in England to help the Irish in the Referendum on 25th May to keep the Eighth. Simply said, we must storm heaven even at this late stage. What we plan at the last moment is to propose for all willing Parishes in the UK, on the eve of the referendum starting at 10 pm Thursday May 24th – 8 hours Adoration to #savethe8th – ending at Friday May 25th 6 am with the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass and the crowning of a statue of Mary in Her month of May under the Title of Our Lady of Knock.

In Irish, the word for unborn “Beo gan Bhreith” directly translates as “Alive but not born yet”. Let us spread the word for this 8 Hours to Adore Jesus Christ and bend our knees in humility through the intercession of Our Lady of Knock. We are an Easter people – let us pray with certainty in our hearts that God will grant us grace where good will prevail over evil in this battle to eliminate the slavery of abortion. Please ask your Priests and Faithful to support this. We are up against the world, but we have Almighty God on our side. All the angels and saints and Our Lady of Knock, please pray for us!

Every day, all over the world, Amazon delivers Prime packages. Millions of people rely on Amazon’s wide online selection and speedy delivery. Amazon users, by checking out through smile.amazon.com (instead of the amazon.com) can choose a charity to receive 0.5 % of the proceeds from their purchase.

However, Amazon is not a neutral company. Rather, Amazon, and in particular Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, is on a mission to promote the sexual revolution. In fact, cities competing for Amazon’s new headquarters are being screened based on “progressivism” and “inclusivity” – aka cities that forcefully promote LGBTQ lifestyles and silence dissenters.

It would appear that Amazon’s latest effort to advance the sexual revolution and silence Christian voices is by removing pro-family groups from the list of eligible Amazon Smile charities.

So essentially, when Amazon says that users can support the charity of their choice, what they really mean is that users can select only charities that fall in line with the prevailing sexual ethic of our age.

This intolerance (in the name of tolerance!) and exclusivity (in the name of inclusivity!) must be called out for what it is – discrimination against people of faith.

Please sign this petition to Amazon saying that you strongly oppose their discriminatory practices towards pro-family charities.

    Sign here:http://citizengo.org/en/fm/161693-amazon-smile-removes-pro-family-groups-eligible-charities

In order to justify their discrimination against Christian pro-family groups, Amazon claims that their decision to remove these Christian groups is based on the recommendation of the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Several months ago, the SPLC published a list of hate groups across the country. This list did include some actual hate groups. However, the SPLC lumped Christian groups such as the Family Research Council, the Ruth Institute, and Alliance Defending Freedom in with racist and pro-Nazi groups.

In recent years the SPLC has been completely discredited as a legit arbiter of information. They attack and defame anyone who doesn’t agree with them. Even the FBI and the U.S. Army have “deleted the [SPLC] from the[ir] lists of legitimate ‘hate crime’ resources” because it is so politically motivated.

    Sign here:http://citizengo.org/en/fm/161693-amazon-smile-removes-pro-family-groups-eligible-charities

Now, all three of those Christian groups, Family Research Council, the Ruth Institute, and Alliance Defending Freedom, have been removed from the list of eligible charities for the Amazon Smile program,

Amazon is discriminating against Christian pro-family groups because of their Christian beliefs. This is wrong. Please use your voice to stand up to corporate America and tell Amazon that their discrimination and intolerance is unacceptable.

    Sincerely,

Kira Nelson and the entire CitizenGO team

      RCA Victor,

Soros seems determined to use his excessive wealth to promote evil across the world, at all costs (literally). What a judgment he will face.

The following short film is posted on the 40 Days for Life website – Newsnight feature on the UK Government’s compliance in the face of the anti-abortion lobby’s campaign to shut down all pro-life efforts, and that despite their boasting that the majority of the population is pro-abortion. Why, then, not just ignore these praying pro-lifers? Instead, they are going to the highest levels of Government to ban them from standing outside abortion clinics.

Just one detail, which I found of much interest. I believe the man captioned as John Edwards, is actually Dr John Edwards, but – unless I missed it – this title was omitted from his caption. Check it out – if I’m wrong, tell me…

SPUC has a new leader in Scotland. John Deighan.

Here he is being interviewed a few days ago.

Is he choosing his words badly or is he giving ground?

    https://youtu.be/Lf0Iqihucww

    May 19, 2018 at 7:12 pm
    • Petrus Regnat

I would say he is saying, rather badly, that the law is being broken/ignored and illegal, unsafe, abortions are now taking place. (The 1967 Act was supposedly to ensure that all abortions are safe and legal.) He is not giving ground but challenging one form of abortion. If the video is not the full interview/live recording then it is possible his fuller comments would give a proper context for what he does say.

      May 19, 2018 at 7:25 pm
      • Andrew Paterson

Commanders who fight on the fields chosen by the enemy tend to lose.
Giving interviews that can be edited by the opposition is unlikely to work.
This is why many organisations refuse these types of interview and issue statements. Live studio interviews may be dangerous, but they cannot be edited before transmission.
        Mr Deighan is a professional.

        May 20, 2018 at 3:19 pm
      • Petrus Regnat

Even live interviews can be edited after their initial broadcast and if the matter is topical, and newsworthy, they will be so used in other broadcasts.

Issuing statements is often the cowards way out, and certainly, as a punter, who often listens to such statements I am left wondering what is that person/organisation afraid of. I think Mrs Thatcher would said of someone who wouldn’t debate they are “frit”.

Basically whatever the format it is better to send competent people who know their brief.

I am certain SPUC split some decades ago because even pro-life Parliamentarians struggled with their aggressive tactics which alienated those they were trying to win over. In 1998 Phylis Bowman set up, with others, a different organisation and the HQ SPUC had once named after her was renamed when she left. She listened to the Parliamentarians who wanted help, and not hindrance in their work.

It also helps an organisation if they do not always act out their paranoia and distrust everyone. Not every interviewer, broadcaster or media outlet is the enemy, and it it necessary to avoid alienating people or organisations, and especially those you hope to influence.

        Petrus Regnat

Some years ago, I was interviewed by Sarah Smith, then of Channel 4 news, now BBC
        https://ichef-1.bbci.co.uk/news/1024/branded_news/C421/production/_97490205_mediaitem97490204.jpg

She came to my home in England with a camera man to interview me on behalf of Channel 4 news about a newly announced school amalgamation of some kind, involving the Catholic pupils sharing the same campus as non-Catholic pupils. The details escape me at the moment.

I was manifestly 100% opposed to the shared campus. I could not have been clearer. The interview was lengthy and I was aware that it would be edited, so asked for her assurance that my position, totally opposed and calling for the Bishop (Devine, I think at the time, in charge of Catholic education) to resign blah blah.

At the very last minute, she asked me if I thought there could be a political motive behind this shared campus, maybe to put an end to Catholic schools, and I said, offhand, that this was quite possible.

My concern, though, was not the politicians, but the Bishop and so-called Catholic educationalists who had agreed to ths chared campus.

When the piece was broadcast, they reported that the then head of the Catholic Education Service, the hapless Michael McGrath, had stated that this shared campus move was politically motivated to see off Catholic schools – and then yours truly was broadcast agreeing with him!

Very VERY mischevious editing and I went straight to our then humble website and posted a piece about Sarah Smith that, were it not true, would have seen me in court. I made a point of emailing the link to Channel 4. She’s now with BBC (Scotland, I think) and every time I see her reporting, I take it all with a massive pinch of salt.

So, trust me, there is a real danger with non-live interviews and after that, I resolved to refuse to agree to anything that was not live. Indeed, when Pope Benedict’s visit was announced, I had a call from the BBC asking if I would be interviewed and, having ascertained that it would be live, politely refused. On pressing, I recounted the above experience and the producer asked if it would be OK if the reporter, Alan Little, rang me to assure me that he would not do any such thing. I agreed and true to his word, Alan Little produced a very fairly edited piece for that news broadcast. Nevertheless, my general rule is that (not that I’m inundated, don’t get me wrong!) I would only participate in live programmes. About a total of two in all, since then!

I’m also amazed at your comment about SPUC’s methods – you gotta be kidding. I know people who have cancelled their monthly donations to SPUC because they seem to spend their money only on glossy magazines and coffee with the nearest politician. Indeed, there was a Newsnight piece some years ago, when a more militant pro-life group appeared on the scene, and the pro-abortion woman said, tellingly, that they had always had a very good relationship with the prolife organisations, SPUC and LIFE, now spoilt by this more militant group.

I’m not saying that SPUC doesn’t do some – maybe a lot of – good, but their leaders appear to have one eye on their next mortgage payment. I mean, if YOUR mortgage depended on abortion remaining legal, would you pull out all the stops to ban it? Seriously? Can you, at least, see the temptation? I HAVE written to their leader, John Smeaton, to ask him this question but never received a reply. In any event… they key question has to be this one:

If you were a child at risk in the womb, Petrus Regnat, who would you want rooting for you – the likes of SPUC or LIFE or Abort 67?

i know who’d get my vote.

I can tell you that I spoke to politicians, and activists, at the time, who became disillusioned with SPUC because they caused offence by their methods at that time, and that is why Ms Bowman began a new organisation. I personally feel they renaming their HQ – having honoured her work by naming it after her in the first place – when she left, also worried me.

As to who is doing the best work now, I genuinely don’t know.

The reality is nothing will properly galvanise, and mobilise, the pro-life lobby proper until some M.P. puts their head above the parapet and tries to reform the law.

        Petrus Regnat,

I can’t see why anyone would be bothered about SPUC methods because they have never been very “in your face”, so how could politicians been offended by them. I think politicians are offended at any attempt to fight the pro-abortion law and they wish pro-lifers would disappear quietly. I do remember Phyllis Bowman but she wasn’t particularly “in your face” either. It was only when Precious Life came along did the media sit up and take notice of the pro-life movement and then the groups like SPUC got annoyed at being out-manoeuvred.

None of the pro-life organisations are doing much to make a change in the law. They all just go along to get along, as far as I can see. There was one point at which SPUC stopped push the anti-abortion message and were focusing on homosexuality instead!

        Fidelis

With respect, they were, then, very “in your face”. As you were not, I assume, an MP then you were not receiving their mailings in your Parliamentary Office. Pro-life MP’s said their activities, then, were hindering their work.

The split that took place then took place because of internal difficulties over tactics, and because of the pleas of some MP’s.

        May 21, 2018 at 6:37 am
      • Petrus Regnat

As I understand it SPUC saw issues pertaining to homosexuality to be an attack on the family, the bedrock of society. Concern for stable families is also a concern for the welfare and upbringing of children. The link between families and the unborn cannot sensibly be broken, can it?

That is not to say, I agreed with the analysis of SPUC, or their tactics, on this issue.

I am, however, saying I am aware of how SPUC have acted and how they were perceived by MP’s – even, Pro-life MP’s.

      • editor

        Petrus Regnat,

Would you be more specific then because I’ve not much time for SPUC because I have always perceived them as toning down the pro-life message in terms of merging abortion with other issues.

I’ve only attended one SPUC conference in my life and it was addressed by Cardinal O’Brien, who began his address by saying that he was pro-life in the “broadest” sense – anti nuclear weapons etc.

However, abortion is unique. It MUST be separated from every other issue because it involves the killing of the most defenceless of all human beings, the child in the womb. Nothing else equates to that.

So, if you would tell me what, specifically, SPUC was doing that upset “even Pro-Life MP’s”, I’d be very interested, given that pro-abortion agencies are on record as having no problem with them.

It was Fidelis who mentioned that SPUC at one time acting on issues relating to The Gay Lobby, not I. I was responding to that.

However, from memory I recall for a period they did broaden their agenda to include such issues, just as, I think they , or at least John Smeaton, publicly opposed any notion – much speculated about in the media – Cardinal Nichols might join The Curia for leading a Department dealing with family issues (I think.). I think they did so for the reasons I gave earlier, and that they thought The Cardinal has sometimes taken up/ promoted/ appeared to support some doubtful causes.

At present I do not get direct mailings from SPUC as they get my mailing details from a Third Party Organisation, who at present not sharing my correct contact details. (I am not in anyway bereft at not receiving such mailings.)

The pro-life MP’s were upset because SPUC were bombarded all MP’s with mailings etc – including platic models – that were upsetting MP’s and their staff. The stuff was unsolicited and SPUC have also been known to use extreme analogies, and examples, and use “in your face” techniques.

It isn’t sensible to alienate the very people you want to influence and dialogue with.

As you know some Councils have now, wrongly, been able to ban people witnessing to the horrors of abortion near hospitals, and these mailings contained images etc people objected to, or couldn’t stomach.

        Petrus Regnat,

Well, poor old MPs, couldn’t stomach the sight of the small plastic models of babies eligible for “legal” abortion – I’ve seen those and there is nothing to “stomach” except the very idea that we, a supposedly wealthy, civilised western nation, permit these children to be butchered in their mother’s womb. There’s a reason why the powers-that-be will permit us to see any and every operation on TV except the murder of an unborn child.

It’s these weak MPs that I can’t stomach. They will watch all sorts of violence on news reports and commend the TV reporters for their “courage” in exposing this or that atrocity -but can’t bear to be reminded of the legalised torture and murder of the only truly innocent people on the planet, those in their mother’s womb, torture and murder for which THEY are responsible, either directly or indirectly.

Leave it there, Petrus Regnat – I get your point about “not alienating” but goodness, what sort of MP would not be outraged by the facts about abortion? What would we say of MPs who were “alienated” by the news reports of other forms of child abuse and injustice on our TV screens day and daily? We’d call them moral cowards.

And that’s what I call those MPs looking for an excuse to do nothing in the face of the greatest atrocity of all – the state sponsored torture and murder of unborn children.

        What a bunch of wimps.

Well this is an interesting read the very sad fact is PRO LIFE PEOPLE NEED TO SPEAK UP MORE …and Pro Life groups do need to do the same .
They are very wishy washy we need action and constant pressure on MPs ….we are talking about life and death ..good and evil its spreading like a dark stain across our World but its like people are hypnotised by it all …under the guise of wimmins wrongs pregnancy is now seen as a no no …children once accepted and cherished now seen as deadly enemies who have to be removed ….we need fresh new ideas …….we have to become more militant if that is the right word to use we have been too nice for too long …Priests hardly mention Abortion ….sadly also Islamic Imams we should be so proud we have been chosen to trumpet the pro life message .
I am not saying there are not some excellent pro life groups but we need to be united in one voice as the vile pro death camp are a mighty force to be reckoned with
50 long sad years have passed on this horror this dreadful mindset of murder is accepted not only accepted but totally encouraged but we will not give up ..ever

Has the current Pontiff got ANYTHING to say on this subject, as I can’t find anything!

He usually has got plenty to say on just about everything.

Wonder, if it becomes a Yes vote, would he boycott his August showbiz/photo-op,unnecessary overly expensive trip with his ever increasing carbon footprint, on a point of principle. How could he possibly schmooze with the so called dignitaries behind this latest attack on life and human rights.

Thank you to everyone that wrote to their MP on Tuesday asking them to attend the debate and reject Stella Creasy’s radical abortion proposal.

The good news is that after a gruelling three-hour debate, Stella Creasy did not take this to a vote. The Government also held strong on making it very clear that abortion is a devolved issue for Northern Ireland and that they were not going to be forced into imposing abortion on Northern Ireland and also introducing a radical abortion law right across England and Wales. There were also some excellent speeches from pro-life MPs including Maria Caulfield and Fiona Bruce which clearly outlined how extreme Stella’s proposal is.

Thank you for being part of securing this victory. We had literally thousands of emails flood MP inboxes showing clearly that many people in their constituency do not want this to go ahead and this also allowed us to get they key arguments against these proposals in front of a very large group of MP before the debate.

SADLY THIS IS NOT THE END OF IT

The problem is, for Stella and abortion provider BPAS this is just the beginning. In the debate on Tuesday, they made it very clear that they intend bringing an amendment to the Domestic Abuse Bill when it comes before Parliament, to introduce their radical abortion regime right across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

They were then back pushing on this with an oral question in the Lords on Wednesday (you can see Lord Alton’s excellent response to this here) and an urgent question in both the Commons and Lords today following the announcement of the Supreme Court judgement. This will continue.

This is all being driven from behind the scenes by a lobby team at the abortion provider BPAS who are building a large database of people who are also emailing MPs and that they currently have a far bigger group of people as part of their ‘army’ that contact MPs on these issues than we do.

While we had a fantastic response on Tuesday, we need to have a far larger group of people ready to contact their MPs when Stella and BPAS return to do their next big push in Parliament.

We know this is possible and we could easily be in a place where we have much more contact from the pro-life side to MPs when they next return, which we know will be very soon. But if we are going to be able to do this, we need your help.

    HOW CAN YOU HELP OUT?

We need you to ask friends and family who care about these issues to join our email list to receive action alerts like this and be ready to contact their MP when Stella and BPAS return.

If you can help us out with this, we have made this really easy for you to do. If you have two minutes to spare now, please click the button below which will open an email in your email client with a pre-written email inviting your friends to get involved, which you can then send onto friends and family. (You are welcome to update the pre-written email, or replace it, should you want to write something that is more personalised.)

Please click here to invite your friends to get involved
Thank you again for your continued support and we look forward to having your friends and family on-board as we move ahead into what is very likely to be the biggest battle on this issue since the Abortion Act was introduced in 1967.

    Many thanks,

    Moira Billinge

Videos deleted – sorry Wendy, but we do not promote, in any way, the hoax “shrine” of Medjugorje. It is a false apparition which the bishops have forbidden to be spread so those priests are disobedient by preaching there. We have plenty of solid pro-life information available without resorting to Medjugorje – Ed.

A heartfelt thank you for all your prayers so far about Ealing. The judge has reserved his judgement in Alina’s High Court case against Ealing Council’s buffer zone outside Marie Stopes abortion centre, which means he is still considering the evidence before making up his mind. The decision could come anytime between now and the end of July. Please pray this novena asap to St Thomas More for lawyers that the judge will have wisdom and good judgement in his decision and not be swayed by politics. Perhaps get to Adoration if you can. Ireland are also trying to bring in buffer zones with their new legislation so this decision could influence what happens in Ireland, also Canada, Australia and so on. Here is a suggested novena below. Thank you, your prayers are saving lives and souls.

From the Scottish Catholic Parliamentary Office…

Urgent! Please contact your MSP about assisted suicide

On 19th April, Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP, the Liberal Democrat Health Spokesman, asked witnesses at the Equalities and Human Rights Committee whether individuals should have the right “to be assisted through any means necessary to quit this life with dignity?” Mr Cole-Hamilton also wrote in The Scotsman newspaper that ‘we need the right to die.’ A Cross Party Group has also been set up in the Scottish Parliament to consider end of life choices, including the right to assisted suicide.

It all points towards another campaign to legalise assisted suicide in Scotland; a campaign which needs a compassionate, yet robust and committed opposition that will speak up for the vulnerable and for better palliative care for those who are affected by terminal illness.

Society should continue to discourage suicide and work hard to prevent it. We should be careful not to normalise it with dangerous laws.

The legalisation of assisted suicide, even in so called limited circumstances, is a very slippery slope. No matter the ‘safeguards’ which might be put in place there is considerable risk of abuse and error. Assisted suicide also creates a culture where certain lives are deemed more valuable than others. The vulnerable become more vulnerable, and this is never more evident than in the intense opposition to assisted suicide by disability groups.

    We must act now.

Please contact your MSPs today and ask them, in your own words, where they stand on assisted suicide. You can find details of your MSPs here.
    http://www.parliament.scot/msps.aspx Just enter your postcode.

And remember, you have seven regional MSPs as well as one constituency MSP, so please do try to contact all of them.

It may be helpful if you were to highlight some of the risks and dangers of assisted suicide and you can find useful information in the FAQs section of the Care Not Killing website.
    http://www.carenotkilling.org.uk/about/faqs/

And please do let us know what your MSP says by emailing us at office@rcpolitics.org
putting ‘MSP Assisted Suicide’ in the subject line.

It is very important that we know what your MSP says so please remember to contact us.

Thank you for your help and continued support.

Pat McKay If you care to research abortion statistics, Anthony R. Burns, you will find that those carried out on the grounds of ‘rape’ number less than 0.5%. In every nation where ‘just a little’ abortion has been permitted ‘on limited grounds’, this has led to it being provided ON DEMAND – for any reason and none. For your info, organisations such as the Good Counsel Network ARE prepared to offer practical, financial support, temporary accommodation and even adoption services for girls and women with crisis pregnancies, as an alternative to the PP butchery. Do you call yourself ‘Catholic’? Well, being pro-life is not an ‘optional extra’.

    MONDAY, 18 JUNE 2018
Summer & Longer Good Counsel Volunteer Workers Internship Programme

I have been amazed to find that nearly every day a woman outside an abortion clinic turns and chooses to take up our offer of help instead of going in for an abortion.
Jess Almeida, Good Counsel Intern, now Sr Jess of the
Sisters of the Gospel of Life, Glasgow.
Left Baby “Marla” whose mum chose life

Looking for an interesting and challenging project for the summer? Or for the next few months? Volunteer for Good Counsel’s Intern Programme or the Summer Mini-Internship and learn how to take part in front line prolife work in a peaceful and prayerful Catholic atmosphere. It can be very hard work but it also has been extremely fruitful in terms of the number of babies saved and extremely fruitful in the lives of those involved in the programme. It has also been a decisive moment in the lives of some of our interns, helping them to discern their future careers or vocations. Some interns have gone on to work long-term for the Good Counsel Network, or for other pro-life groups. Some have discovered a vocation. Others want to take the skills they have learned back to their own countries or towns.

    Interns working together

    Full Internships (3 months)
Interns volunteer full time with us and have the opportunity to learn:
How to start and run a successful Crisis Pregnancy Centre
How to start and run a vigil at an abortion centre
How to run a 40 Days for Life campaign
How to advise and support a pregnant woman in a crisis
How to remain faithful to the Catholic Church’s teachings in all aspects of your prolife work
Internships are offered for a 3 month periods. Interns live in London and receive a subsistence allowance, travel expenses and free accommodation. They live as part of a community, praying and working together. There are men’s and women’s intern houses.

    Interns socialising together

    Summer Mini-Internships (4-6 weeks)
Summer mini-internships last from 4-6 weeks and provide a basic grounding in running vigils and basic skills for offering women alternatives to abortion, as well as a grounding in pro-life issues such as the law on abortion in the UK, the law in practise, foetal development and abortion.
Accommodation and allowances are the same as for the full internship (above). Mini-internships are available between June and September only.
If you are interested, please email fredathome2@yahoo.co.uk and send your CV or a covering letter with a brief outline of your work history, studies, plans and the reasons for your interest in the Programme.

    More Interns working hard…

“It was an honour to get to walk mothers through a difficult time in their lives. To help mothers who have had abortions towards healing. And it was an honour to get to hold the babies who otherwise wouldn’t be there. To be a part of the story of people whose lives are going to change the world somehow just because they got the chance to live.”

Press release – for immediate release

    Monday 2nd July 2018

Mothers saddened that PSPO that criminalises prayer and support upheld by Court – options for appeal being considered

The High Court has today upheld the Public Space Protection Order created by Ealing Council in April 2018. The Ealing PSPO criminalises prayer, the handing out of leaflets and any act of approval or disapproval regarding abortion.

Alina Dulgheriu, a mother aided by pro-life vigils and who brought the legal challenge is considering options for appeal.

Alina Dulgheriu, who was supported outside an abortion centre, and is bringing forward the legal challenge has released the following statement:

“I am saddened and shocked that the Court has upheld a PSPO that prevents good people giving help to mothers who desperately want it. I am surprised that evidence that the judge recognised isn’t of a criminal standard, can be used to criminalise a whole section of society that holds an ‘unfashionable’ worldview.

Today the Court has said that it is okay for councils to criminalise prayer, even silent prayer on our streets, how can this be right? Today the Court has dismissed fundamental human rights such as freedom of expression because it gives authorities the benefit of the doubt in whether doing so is reasonable or not. I thought the whole point of human rights is that authorities have to truly justify draconian laws?

I am devastated for those women that since the introduction of the Ealing PSPO, have not been able to access the loving help that I did. I feel desperately sorry for the vigil members who since the move to create this PSPO have been consistently subject to abuse on the street and slander online.

I am discussing every option available to me to be able to challenge this decision, which for the sake of vulnerable women and the future of our fundamental freedoms, should not be able to stand.”

Andre Clovis of Tuckers Solicitors, representing Ms Dulgheriu has issued the following statement:

“We are all very disappointed that the Court ultimately overlooked the many compelling arguments in favour of quashing the Public Spaces Protection Order, and thus the Claimants have sought the Court’s permission to appeal. This decision allows Ealing Council to seek criminal sanctions against individuals for purported ‘misbehaviour,’ such as silent prayer. This outcome sets as dangerous precedent and is a direct attack upon our very basic rights, such as freedom of expression. My view is that this decision cannot and should not be looked at in isolation for fear we continue the worrying trend of becoming a society where those with opposing views simply seek to shut each other down rather than engage in dialogue and debate

The true test for your belief in freedom of expression, is whether you are prepared to fight for the rights of those whose views you do not share, because you believe it is their right to hold and express views different from your own.”

Clare Carberry, an Ealing resident and spokeswoman for the Be Here For Me campaign said:

“Despite disappointment at the outcome today, this is certainly not the end of the road. I would like to pay tribute to Alina.

It is Alina who is making history today. Alina is the true Sister Supporter. She, along with the many brave volunteers who have seen their incredibly selfless and life changing work traduced, smeared and now banned, deserves nothing but our great admiration, gratitude and respect.

Before this case came to the courts it was wholly denied that women like Alina even existed. The dominant narrative was that every woman attending an abortion centre was freely and independently choosing an abortion and that the vigils outside the clinic offered them nothing.

It was an uphill battle to get the press to interview her. This indomitable young Romanian mother, who herself was helped at the threshold of an abortion centre, has blown the lid on the myth that abortion clinics offer options to women who are in the most difficult circumstance. She has overturned the pretence that the pro life vigils outside their doors do not offer help and that women do not want them there. This is an inconvenient truth that is not going away.

Alina always knew that hers was a truly David and Goliath battle. I am full of admiration for her guts and courage in the face of the most terrible intimidation and abuse. Much of the abuse she has experienced has been owing to grotesquely false allegations shamefully supported and bruited about by those who oppose her, including my own council (Ealing) and even my local MP Rupa Huq.

She stood stoutly before a juggernaut of lies and did not flinch or back down. Her boldness in speaking truth to power has given inspiration and encouragement to all who cherish human rights and freedoms.”

Elizabeth Howard, an Ealing resident and spokeswoman for the Be Here For Me campaign said:

“This decision is a major blow for free speech and human rights in this country. But the struggle for human rights has never been easy. And while there are women who feel they have no choice but an abortion they don’t want, we will do their best to reach them.

Even under the draconian restrictions imposed by the council, several women have accepted help from the pro-life vigil. Sadly, as a result of the PSPO, there are hundreds more desperately vulnerable women who haven’t had the opportunity to access the help that many of them may have wanted.

Women like Alina who have received vital help from vigils told Ealing Council that they could not put a value on being able to keep the child they wanted. Ealing Council whitewashed those women out of their deliberations. It seems as though the Court has done the same.

While deeply disappointing, this decision is certainly not the end of pro-life witness in this country.”

That’s fantastic. How clever of that MP to show an ultrasound like that outside of a debate on abortion. I wonder how many MPs were in the chamber? It’s really groundbreaking, and I hope he, or another MP, does that again.

The BBC has broadcast a shocking piece of anti-life propaganda in a recent radio podcast, “Inside Health”.

This item is one of a number of media items in recent days promoting the practice of allowing women, undergoing a medical abortion, to take the second abortion pill at home, rather than in a hospital or clinical setting.

This slew of media items is clearly aimed at softening up public opinion ahead of introducing this practice in England.

In under a year, allowing women to take the second abortion pill at home has been rolled out in Scotland and Wales. Both devolved governments have approved the home as a class of place for an abortion, and both have by-passed the requirements of the 1967 Abortion Act which does not include the home as an approved place. SPUC Scotland has mounted a legal challenge against this unlawful action.

We need to get the pro-life arguments into this debate and mount some resistance to allowing abortion pills to be taken at home by women in England. Please complain to the BBC about this podcast. You can listen to the podcast here, beginning at 20 minutes 40 seconds. The item is approximately seven minutes long.

You can read SPUC’s comments on the podcast here.

      Wendy,

I’ve just emailed Penny Mordaunt as follows (posted also on the ‘Glasgow Priest Under Fire…’ thread:

      Attention Penny Mordaunt

I have noted your lecture to the Catholic Church about contraception, and your remark about challenging deeply held beliefs and attitudes. What a nerve!

Notably, you do not direct the same advice to the LGTBT-Z lobby – interesting to see you photographed at their “Pride” parade recently.

I have posted a comment on our blog about your sheer nerve in lecturing Catholics on contraception, while publicly supporting those engaging in unnatural sexual activity.

You might benefit from reading the discussion – no politically correct ideology is respected at Catholic Truth. Not at all! Challenge your own (apparently very shallow) beliefs and attitudes by visiting us over at …

Home Office: Don’t break up my family

The Home Office has refused to grant my wife Valentina acceptance of her application for discretionary Leave to Remain in the UK. We have appealed but won’t hear back until February. In the meantime, I’m left fearing I will lose my wife and our 2 year old son will lose his mother.

They can reverse their decision quickly – that’s what I’m calling for and I need your help to do it.

Until a year ago, we were living in my wife’s home country of Nigeria. I had a series of mild heart attacks and wasn’t detected in the hospital we went to in Lagos, when I first presented with symptoms. On holiday in the UK, my symptoms worsened and I was rushed to the hospital where I was diagnosed with a heart attack. I stayed to ensure I had the medical care needed and it meant my wife quickly had to rush to the UK, so we had no time to apply for a spousal visa.

We have now settled in the UK and do not live off the state. Our son who is British starts school in September, and we live just 10 minutes away from my 89 year old mother who lives alone. We are a huge comfort to her. We have applied for a Discretionary Leave to Remain based on family life referring to our unique circumstances. But the Home Office have refused it.

The possibility that Valentina may be separated from our 2 year child and her doting husband not only hurts but feels like an infringement of our right to family life. Families like ours being torn apart is cruel – it is the hostile environment we’ve been hearing about. Why should a child be forced to live without both willing and loving parents?

Whilst being in the UK my wife has not been permitted to work, she has not relied upon any state benefits, she volunteers at local dementia homes – giving something to a society that she is not being allowed to be part of. Valentina is a loving, caring mum who pours love on her son and husband, who has so much warmth for everyone she meets. She is a true contributor and has so much to offer our country and society as a whole.

Despite all that has been put in her way, including a miscarriage a month ago, Valentina maintains a truly positive outlook. She does not throw criticism at bureaucracy like others in her position of frustration would do. She is a wonderful person who only wants to make life better for those around her.

We really need your support to help us overturn the Home Office’s refusal of an extension of her stay. We do not want to lose her and have absolutely no guarantee that she will be allowed to return to us. The family cannot be broken up.

Please sign the petition and help us stay together. There’s incredible power in unity and numbers.

    Thank you.

Interesting, but I wish they wouldn’t report something like that as “breaking news” – anyone who knows the nature of the natural moral law, knows that it’s as old as the hills, or at least, as old as that VIP ‘hill’, Mount Sinai!

    Dear Wendy,

Thank you to everyone who has followed us on social media in the last week. If you haven’t had a chance to do so already, please do head over to our Facebook page and LIKE it. While you are there, do check out some of the additional videos from the event held in Parliament last week.

This week, the abortion lobby has attempted to use the British-Irish Intergovernmental Conference to try and push for Westminster to introduce a radical abortion law to Northern Ireland along with introducing the same drastic change to England and Wales.

They have mobilised over 170 politicians from the Republic of Ireland and the UK to sign a letter that was published in the Sunday Times. This called on the British-Irish Intergovernmental Conference to ensure that sections 58 and 59 of the Offences Against the Persons Act are repealed from Westminster.

As has been pointed out in an excellent article by Sir Jeffrey Donaldson MP and in a joint counter-letter from politicians across the Republic of Ireland and the UK, it was wholly inappropriate that these politicians were seeking to hijack the conference to use it as a vehicle to interfere on devolved issues in Northern Ireland and also introduce an extreme abortion law across England and Wales.

DID YOUR MP CALL FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF A RADICAL ABORTION LAW?

If you would like to find out if your MP signed the letter calling for the introduction of a radical abortion law, please click the button below. You can then enter your postcode and our system will let you know if they signed the letter.

Click here to find out if your MP signed the letter
If they did sign the letter, you will then have the option to let them know by email that you, as a constituent, are very concerned about them doing so.

This is an easy way for you to demonstrate to your MP that you are one of many people that are concerned about them supporting moves to introduce a radical abortion law and highlight some of the key problems with this change.

It will also help show that a number of their constituents are against them voting for any amendments to the Domestic Abuse Bill (or similar legislative vehicle) that will introduce a radical abortion law.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Catholic Relief Services is now admitting to concerned Catholics that it is supplying a contraception/abortion lobbying group in DC with $54,000 Catholic dollars per year … but justifies it by claiming that NOT funding abortion/contraception peddlers could be somehow worse for the Church and the people they serve.

In other words, “We have to use your money to fund pro-abortion and pro-contraception organizations so we can tell them they shouldn’t do that … oh, and the ends DOES justify the means when we say it does.”

Paolo A. Belzoni This is what happens when you allow people who are not practicing Catholics (in the true sense of that word) to run Catholic organizations. They see absolutely nothing wrong with supporting acts that the Church declares as evil so long as they jive with the gospel of the world. Every last one of them should be cleaned out and no Catholic in their right mind should give to orgs like this.

A bill to legalise abortion as retrospective contraception has been defeated in Argentina.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-45125687

Pro-abortionists resorted to arson and attacking Police in the wake of the outcome, obviously deciding to indulge their repugnant blood lust by other means.

No doubt Francis will be dismayed at this rigid, self-absorbed, judgemental decision by his neo-pelagian countrymen and -women.

Just imagine he had said or done anything to justify his use of oxygen in the run up to this vote. He could now take the plaudits and give his dismal Papacy a much-needed shot-in-the-arm.

The bill was defeated by 38 votes to 31. Hopefully the pro-life cause can use this time to make inroads to widen that margin.

    A ‘pro-choice’ oaf said:

“Women perform abortion with criminalisation or without it,”

Well, on those solid grounds I suppose we should legalise rape, child abuse, drink-driving and theft, eh? After all, people do it anyway.

      Gabriel Syme,

Well said. Yes, anything can be legalised based on that brainless philosophy.

So, if they’re not dancing in the streets at the prospect of legally murdering unborn babies, they’re rioting on the streets for not getting permission to murder unborn babies.

And this, they tell us, is progress.

Action Alert: Please ask your MP to contact the Home Secretary
    14 August 2018

Home Secretary Rt Hon Sajid Javid will make an announcement on buffer zones in September.
    Dear SPUC Supporter,

Please act now to put pressure on the Home Secretary not to instigate legislation to outlaw peaceful, prayerful, pro-life vigils.

The pro-abortion MP for Ealing, Rupa Huq, is calling for national legislation on buffer zones around abortion clinics. Home Secretary Sajid Javid MP has told Ms Huq and pro-abortion MPs that he will be announcing his decision on buffer zones in September.

We are asking you to write to your MP, straight away, to ask him/her to urge the Home Secretary not to outlaw peaceful pro-life vigils.
(Please do not write directly to Sajid Javid MP. It is much more effective to write to your own MP asking him/her to forward your concerns to the Home Secretary. Your MP will be responding to mail from constituents during the summer recess.)

It is vital that the Home Secretary hears the concerns of SPUC supporters before he makes his announcement.

Here are some key points you may like to include in your letter/email:

Buffer zones will deprive many women of the life-saving help they cannot get anywhere else.
Buffer zones would mean that a peaceful, non-threatening person could not stand near the entrance to an abortion clinic.
Buffer zones would stop law-abiding citizens from offering help to people in need.
The introduction of buffer zones means that the state would be stopping people of faith from exercising the duties dictated by their religion to care for those in need.
Wider concerns about legislation to outlaw buffer zones, which could trigger other restrictive measures:
This would be a massive attack on freedom of expression and assembly.
Pro-life citizens could be banned from public acts of witness.
Door-to-door leafleting to spread the pro-life message to the British public could be prohibited.
Public meetings to present pro-life issues could be stopped.
Pro-life students at universities could be even more stringently gagged.
Please let your MP know that the basic principles of democracy and freedom of expression are at risk. The pro-life movement could be shut down completely.

You can find out who your MP is, and where to send your letter or email by going to: http://www.spuc.org.uk/get-involved/campaign-with-us/write-to-your-mp

Please also sign our petition if you haven’t already done so. Please encourage others to sign this important petition.

    With my kindest regards,

Life instructs solicitors to begin legal action against Lambeth Council
Life has instructed solicitors to begin legal action against Lambeth Council for defamation, breach of contract and interference with our right to freedom of expression following our expulsion from the Lambeth Country Show.

On the second day of the Lambeth Country Show, without any forewarning or discussion, Life’s stall was dismantled by the show organisers and our staff and volunteers instructed to leave. This was despite our application having been approved since April, three months after its submission. Following our ejection the Council and one of its councillors made false and misleading statements about Life’s presence at the show. They have now accepted that those statements were inaccurate and suggested that we were ejected from the show because of our use of foetal models on the stall.

In a legal letter sent by our solicitors on Friday, Lambeth Council has been informed of prospective claims against it for libel and the unlawful interference with Life’s right to freedom of expression, contrary to Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights (which public authorities must comply with by virtue of section 6(1) of the Human Rights Act 1998). Life is seeking a public correction and apology from Lambeth Council, an undertaking that our right to freedom of expression will not be unlawfully interfered with again and that the Council will properly engage with us in the future, and compensation for the harm to our charity.

Life’s Director of Education Anne Scanlan said “The beginning of human life in the womb is normal and worthy of celebration. This is what Life sought to do when it was stopped and ejected from the show, apparently because it showed educational models of the unborn baby (although different reasons have been provided at different times). When our right to celebrate the very start of human life is denied we have no choice but to stand up to those who wish to trample on freedom of expression. The actions of Lambeth Council represent a grave injustice which must be challenged if we are to continue to defend the right to life of the unborn child and promote support for the thousands of women who need our help in crisis pregnancies. We will ensure that the voice of the vulnerable and voiceless is heard in the interest of the common good and we refuse to be intimidated by the discriminatory actions of any person or institution.

Public displays of information about pregnancy expose the choice of abortion as a choice to end the life of an unborn child. Through the provision of practical support, we are promoting real, life-affirming choices, empowering women to continue with their pregnancy. This is what women need and deserve and we will continue to stand with them as we have done for 48 years.”

Jean Stephenson Absolutely appalling, have you any idea how many women do not actually want an abortion but feel this is their only choice when a pregnancy is unplanned? How about instead of seeking how Bpas might more easily kill your unborn constituents, you look to see how you might help in the provision of support for women in a crsis pregnancy situation? There are few women who ‘choose’ abortion, rather, they felt they had no other choice.

Picture the situation: A woman discovers she is pregnant and it was unplanned. Her partner/parents/ ‘friends’ tell her the solution is simple, ‘get rid of it’, after all, abortion is legal, she won’t even have to pay! And then add, if you keep the baby, our relationship is over or the parents give the ultimatum that the daughter will have to leave her home, if she keeps the baby, or the student who is told she will ruin her life, if she does not abort her baby, always time for children later … So, reluctantly, she complies and heads for the Bpas or Marie Stopes who will take care of the problem. No one was going to support her keeping her child and she did not know what help, real help was actually available to her to continue with her pregnancy.

Are you aware Mr Smith that Bpas even campaigned hard to try to reverse a government grant awarded to Life Charity for a project to house vulnerable pregnant women in West London and the surrounding area? Fortunately, Bpas did not win and those vulnerable pregnant women who would otherwise have been homeless are housed – no thanks to Bpas! I even asked Bpas several times who they would refer women to, who felt they would have to abort due to being homeless. I heard nothing from them. I note however they respond speedily to those who want to donate to them!! So, you see, women who feel abortion is the only route they can take will not be directed to anywhere that is equipped to give them the very real practical help they would gladly take if they were made aware of it. Oh, and just to add, Bpas want to keep it that way as their push for buffer zones will ensure that women are not offered any information that would give them real choice. Laws are already in place to deal with anyone who behaves illegally outside a clinic, like shouting at women, following them, blocking them – anyone behaving like that should be dealt with using the laws already in place so use them, where the concrete evidence proves such appalling behaviour. However, that is not the way the majority of people offering help behave and a blanket ban on women being offered any information on alternatives to abortion is nothing less than a wider attack on freedom of speech.

Do you not think that it is rather convenient for Bpas and abortion supporters to applaud a man, such as yourself who want to know how they can assist in some way, the killing of unborn children whilst any man who stands up for the rights of both women and their unborn children is told ‘No uterus? No opinion’?

Pat McKay Do tell us, Mr Smith, did you see any ‘anti-abortion protestors’ outside the Crawley BPAS? You know, those ‘wailing, shrieking in-your-face hooligans with placards and loud hailers, who bully, intimidate and harass poor wimmin who have ‘agonised’ over their decision to have their ‘unwanted cluster of cells’ butchered’….

This is what the deeply-prejudiced mainstream media would have us all believe of course, but as anyone who has actually witnessed for themselves will know, those brave stalwarts who carry out peaceful prayer and witness vigils for the unborn do not bully, harass or intimidate ANYBODY.

    ABORT67
    5 September at 15:29 ·

    LETTER TO PETER CHOWNEY:

    Dear Mr Chowney,

I am writing to you regarding your public Facebook post on the 18th of March of this year. In it you said:

“I would strongly support the introduction of buffer zones around clinics and health centres. We’ve had problems in Hastings with anti-choice groups targeting women going into the Station Plaza health centre, handing out distressing and inaccurate ‘edcational materials’. Some councils have introduced Public Space Protection Orders to prevent the harassment of women at health centres, which we’re considering in Hastings. But national legislation to introduce buffer zones would be far better.”

I am concerned about a couple of things:
As someone who has taken part in educating the public on the reality of abortion in Hastings, your comments could be interpreted as referring to our Abort67 public education project. This involves using abortion victim photographs to prove the humanity of the unborn child and what abortion does to him or her.

Please could you clarify who you were referring to? Your post could, to an uninformed mind, be confused for the work that we do in Hastings and elsewhere which I am sure was not your intention.

My second concern is that, particularly as a Labour party candidate, you would support restrictions against expressive rights. Would you advocate for buffer zones around hospitals or airports to ban disgruntled workers from publicly raising concerns about perceived injustices in the work place?

As well as emailing you this I am putting it up on our Abort67 Facebook page. You are welcome to reply in either place but as your initial comment was public I would like to publish any response you give.

    Kind regards,

    Andy Stephenson
    Director

Graeme Thompson Labour under Corbyn is an evil, totalitarian, anti-Semitic party with no respect for human life at all. All it has is a lust for power and that involves silencing those who expose the evil it believes in. Unless the Parliamentary Labour Party forms a breakaway centre-left party, there is no democratic party of the left in our democracy.

    Dear Wendy,

I would like to ask for your help!

Firstly, please ask as many people as possible to contact the Home Secretary on sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk, thanking him for

upholding free speech and for allowing help and real alternatives to abortion to be continued to be offered at the gates of abortion centres. Many women have stated that had that help not been there, they would not have their child today. Many of these women who have had their babies, in the most challenging situations (also, women who regret abortion) are extremely grateful that this choice can still be offered to others. Please ask people to show their appreciation for Mr. Javid as a man of principle, with courage of his convictions, in the face of great opposition and we wish him great success in his political career.

Secondly, would you also be able to ask people to contact Refinery 29, asking Refinery29 to take down the article below and retract the statement where they allege amongst other things that someone at 40 Days for Life hit a member of Sister Supporter with a car!? This is totally and utterly false and defamatory! If somebody had been hit by a car, there would have been a criminal offense and Police would have been involved. This would all have been on record. As it is, there is no Police record as there has been no such incident! No-one has ever been prevented from walking into Marie Stopes, nor is the information 40 Days provide inaccurate.

The email to contact them on is

    feedback@refinery29.uk

Here is the relevant paragraph and link to the article.

Redmond shared examples of the behaviour she has seen from various people while demonstrating in Manchester. “Some of the stuff we’ve seen there is ten times more horrific than what I saw when I was going to [my appointment]. They hit one of us with their car, threw holy water over the steps of the clinic; they wouldn’t let one woman walk past them into the clinic and shoved leaflets into people’s hands that said ‘ask to see the scan’,” she recalled. “They have misleading dolls of fully grown foetuses which are obviously not [the same size as] what the majority of people are aborting when they go into the clinic.”

A quick update for you all: we are over 95% of the way to the £50,000 target goal! It is just incredible. The goal felt a million miles away when I first launched the appeal, but the response has been overwhelming. In just over two months, over 650 people have given so generously to make the appeal a reality! Words simply cannot express my gratitude for the support and kindness that you have shown me with your donations and your messages of encouragement. Thank you all so much.

While we wait to hear from the Court of Appeal, there has been some wonderful news from the Home Office who said last week that they will not impose censorship zones through national legislation. They recognised that police already have wide powers available to them to protect the public from genuine harassment and intimidation, and there was no need to take action against peaceful activities such as prayer and handing out of leaflets. It is a very encouraging and timely development in the lead-up to the appeal against Ealing Council.

Thank you again for your support, and I will keep you updated.

    Dear Wendy,

This week a BBC investigation has revealed widespread evidence of women coming under intense pressure to undergo sex-selective abortions in the UK. This has lead to renewed calls from MPs for the Government to take action on sex-selective abortion.

As you are likely aware, this is not the first time that this has been an issue in the UK. A previous investigation by the Telegraph revealed that doctors were agreeing to provide sex-selective abortions ‘no questions asked’.

There is widespread support for an explicit ban on sex-selective abortion, with recent polling undertaken by ComRes showing that 89% of the general population and 91% of women agree that gender-selective abortion should be explicitly banned by the law. This is an area of the abortion debate where the vast majority, other than a small group of abortion activists, agree that there should be a ban on abortion.

Unfortunately, the Government has repeatedly avoided taking action on this issue. Availability of new NIPT pre-natal testing for gender appears to be making this problem far worse so it is vital that the Government takes action on this as soon as possible.

    HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We need to ensure every MP in Parliament is aware of this new evidence and that they are asking the Government to take action.

The Stop Gendercide campaign has launched a tool on their website which you can use to contact your MP to let them know that you are deeply concerned about the evidence revealed in the BBC investigation and urge them to ask the Government to take action.

Click here to email your MP now
Once you have emailed your MP, please do consider asking friends and family to visit the Stop Gendercide website and email their MP on this issue.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Urgent action to defeat abortion bill
    26 September 2018

    Dear SPUC Supporter,

Urgent action to defeat abortion bill

I am writing to you as a matter of extreme urgency. A dangerous new abortion bill is coming up in the House of Commons on Tuesday 23 October 2018. This is another bill being introduced by Diana Johnson, the Labour MP for Hull North, which again seeks to remove criminal sanctions for abortion, in other words to decriminalise abortion.

The bill is being introduced under the Ten Minute Rule. Such bills do not generally reach the statute book and are used to raise a particular issue in the House of Commons. However, the outcome of Ms Johnson’s bill will be significant in terms of future parliamentary action by the pro-abortion lobby.

Ms Johnson wants to repeal Sections 58 & 59 of the 1861 Offences Against the Person Act. This Act is the primary law which governs abortion in Northern Ireland. This is also the basic legal protection against abortion in England and Wales.

If Ms Johnson is successful on 23 October, this could lead to changes in the law which would remove any effective legal protection for unborn babies and their mothers in Northern Ireland and also in England and Wales.

It is vital that we win the vote on Tuesday 23 October 2018
Please order our campaign postcards here for distribution among family and friends and at your church. The postcards enable you to send a message to your MP urging him/her to vote against Diana Johnson. You can find out who your MP is here.

This bill is the most severe threat to the lives of unborn babies and the welfare of their mothers, in decades.

Thank you for your continuing support in this dark period of pro-life history.
    With every good wish,

    Antonia Tully
    Director of Campaigns

Join us for a New Lepanto!

    Join Cardinal Raymond Burke
    in storming Heaven for a
    New Lepanto!

    Dear Wendy,
In case you haven’t heard, Operation Storm Heaven will be occurring on October 7th for this month only, on the 448th Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary and anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto.

This date change is due to Cardinal Burke’s flight from San Diego on September 30th across the international date line, which will cause him to lose a day and arrive in New Zealand on October 2nd.

This providential situation allows you, me, and all Rosary Warriors to pray together with Cardinal Raymond Burke on October 7th, the 448th Anniversary of Lepanto.
    The New Lepanto!

About 5 centuries ago, the massive army and navy of the Ottoman Empire launched a military campaign to conquer all of Europe, turn St. Peter’s Basilica into a mosque, and destroy all traces of Christianity in Europe.
During this time, the Christian nations of Europe were greatly outnumbered and were fighting amongst themselves.
    But how did they survive?
Pope Pius V called the Christian nations of Europe to band together to protect Christendom, but more importantly, he implored all of Europe to pray the Rosary, asking God to save the Church from the wrath of the Ottomans.
On the day of the battle, the Catholic fleet faced a much larger Ottoman navy. The battle raged fiercely, fighting with guns, cannons, and swords. The leader of the Christians forces, Don Juan of Austria, was killed in battle.

Yet, on the hour that the Christians won, Pope Pius V got up from a meeting, walked over to a window, and shed tears of joy as he said, “The Christian fleet is victorious!”
Thus, the Church was saved from one of the most powerful empires in history through the power of the Holy Rosary.
    We need a New Lepanto!
Today, the Church faces a much greater threat than the Ottomans: a grave crisis of apostasy and depravity of priests, bishops, and laity within the Church.

We are under attack by “the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (St. Paul, Eph 6:12).

Just as the Church turned to the Rosary 448 years ago to be delivered from the Ottomans, we Rosary Warriors, all 123,000 of us, must again turn to Our Lady through the power of the Holy Rosary to defeat the work of the devil.

Do you believe in the power of the Holy Rosary?
If so, join Cardinal Burke and 123,000 other Rosary Warriors to fight for the integrity of our Catholic Faith!

To support the growth of Operation Storm Heaven by helping us recruit more Rosary Warriors, please consider joining the Faith Defender Family, a special group of faithful Catholics passionately defending their Faith.

    Dear Wendy,

On Tuesday 23 October 2018 Diana Johnson MP is bringing forward a Ten Minute Rule Bill to the House of Commons. She is seeking to introduce one of the most extreme abortion regimes in the world right across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

While Ten Minute Rule Bills rarely become law and the vote will not be binding on the Government, the abortion lobby are attempting to use a vote on this Bill to create momentum in Parliament, ahead of bringing forward an amendment to the Domestic Abuse Bill to introduce these radical changes to abortion legislation.

It is vital that we have as many MPs as possible vote against this radical proposal to ensure we can stop it gaining momentum in Parliament.

You can help by urgently writing to your MP asking them to attend the debate on Tuesday October 23rd and encourage them to vote against this radical bill. This only takes two minutes on our website by clicking the button below.

Please click here to email your MP now
Further information on the Bill is available in the short briefing note here.

We know that MPs will be receiving a large number of emails from abortion campaigners pushing them to support this proposal. It is vital that your MP is aware of the extreme nature of what is being proposed here and that many constituents are encouraging them to vote against this Bill.

Please do therefore ask your friends to write to their MP and share this on social media.

    Many thanks,

    Drafted with BPAS and Amnesty…

Diana Johnson releases text of abortion bill
    10 October 2018

This dangerous bill must not pass

Diana Johnson, the Labour MP for Hull North, has released the text of her upcoming abortion decriminalisation ten minute rule bill.

Showing just how much the the abortion industry is behind this parliamentary move, it was uploaded onto a BPAS campaign website called “Now for NI” and was “drafted with support of Amnesty International UK, the Family Planning Association, BPAS, Professor Sally Sheldon and others.” Amnesty have today also released polling which they say supports the imposition of abortion on Northern Ireland.

The public mist be able to lobby politicians on abortion
SPUC Deputy Chief Executive John Deighan said: “This extreme bill would remove abortion from the criminal law in England and Wales, and also impose abortion on Northern Ireland by overruling devolution.

“Decriminalising abortion treats it like a medical treatment which should be regulated by the healthcare profession – it is not. Abortion does not cure any disease, but is the deliberate ending of an innocent human life,” he continued. “There is strong social controversy about abortion, particularly around allowing it on demand, at the expense of the taxpayer. It is thus ridiculous to suggest that the power to regulate it be taken away from elected politicians and handed to factions of the medical profession, who won’t have to answer to anyone. It is vital that the democratic link be maintained and the public can lobby their accountable politicians about this matter.”

Campaign with us to Kill the Bill!

SPUC supporters are already campaigning hard to defeat this bill, Mr Deighan said. “Now that the text of the Bill has been published, we will be campaigning all the harder. As well as the dangers for women and unborn children, the Bill as it stands has very alarming clauses about making it legal to conceal the birth of a child and about conscientious objection. It must not be allowed to progress.”

Extremist abortion agenda, not human rights
SPUC spokesman in Northern Ireland Liam Gibson also slammed the attempt by MPs outside Northern Ireland to impose abortion on the Province. He said: “The pro-life people of Northern Ireland are being attacked on all sides. What is being proposed would leave unborn children with absolutely no legal protection. That idea is shocking in itself but the way the pro-abortion lobby in the House of Commons is going about this flies in the face of the democratic rule of law. Diana Johnson represents no one in Northern Ireland, her party doesn’t even stand candidates for election here…

Here’s a brief blog post stating that the USCCB refers clients under its Unaccompanied Alien Children Program (UACP) and the Trafficking Victim Assistance Program (TVAP) for abortion and contraception services, for those desiring them:

“The ACLU focused particularly on the refusal of sub-grantees to directly refer clients for abortion or contraception services. However children in custody in UACP who sought an abortion were transferred to a secular provider that did not have objections, and to an independent medical provider when contraception services were sought. The Bishops’ Conference ultimately removed language from its documents that would have prevented TVAP sub-grantees from providing abortion or contraception services.”

Re above LAMBETH COUNCIL OFFERS A LIMP APOLOGY TO LIFE FOR THROWING THEM OUT OF COUNTRY SHOW

    October 17, 2018 at 12:30 pm
  • wendy walker

    Dear wendy

Last week I told you about plans to hijack the Domestic Violence and Abuse Bill in an attempt to introduce abortion extremism in the UK which could even permit abortion up until birth. It turns out this is only part of a larger plan to ultimately remove any legal regulations, and therefore protections for both mother and child, surrounding abortion.

On Tuesday 23 October 2018 (next week) Diana Johnson MP is bringing forward a Ten Minute Rule Bill seeking to introduce one of the most extreme abortion regimes in the world right across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

While this Ten Minute Rule Bill is unlikely to become law, the abortion lobby are attempting to use a vote on this Bill to create momentum in Parliament, ahead of bringing forward an amendment to the Domestic Violence and Abuse Bill to introduce these radical changes to abortion legislation.

It is vital that we have as many MPs as possible vote against this radical proposal to ensure we can stop it gaining momentum in Parliament. Our friends over at Right to Life have created a simple way for you to contact your MP directly.

Right to Life have pre-written a letter, which you can send as is, or amend as you see fit, which will automatically be sent to your MP.

We have consistently found that the best way to influence these votes is for you to contact your MP directly. He/she is accountable to you. He/she is your representative. We must do everything we can to ensure your MP represents you.

Please click on this link to email your MP directly urging him/her to vote against Diana Johnson’s Bill.

    Yours sincerely,

      Pat,

That is a shocking report – truly shocking, and its’ heading here, to the UK, for sure.

I just wish HLI wouldn’t refer to “Saint” John Paul II. It identifies them as modernist Catholics and that is a pity. They do a lot of good pro-life work, obviously, but I just wish they were not so obviously going along with the revolution in the rest of the Church’s life. After all, there are plenty of Muslim, Hindu, Protestant and pagan prolifers. It’s a matter of natural law not Catholic doctrine.

    Dear SPUC Supporter,

Today’s on abortion decriminalisation has given a wake-up call to all of us in the pro-life movement. MPs voted went in favour of Diana Johnson’s Ten Minute Rule bill; 208 to 123. Ms Johnson now has leave to take her Abortion Bill to a Second Reading on 23 November 2018. (See division list here.)

Although Ten Minute Rule bills rarely make their way through the process to become law, we are rightly shocked at the barbaric nature of the proposal and the level of support it was given by MPs. Diana Johnson wants abortion for any reason up to 24 weeks of pregnancy, and it is to the shame of those 208 politicians who voted in favour of such a proposal.

Thank you for all you’ve done

We are however in a position to fight back against this assault on human life and that is due to the supporters like yourself who are willing to stand with the unborn. I therefore take this opportunity to thank you. Thank you for your continuing dedication to protecting the lives of unborn children and the welfare of their mothers. Thank you to all those who ordered SPUC’s campaign postcards to ensure that MPs heard the voices of pro-lifers in their constituency.

SPUC supporters gave of their very best in the last few weeks to defeat this Ten Minute Rule bill. Thank you for everything you did.
No less than 130,000 campaign postcards were sent out from SPUC HQ to good people around the country. We know that supporters in over 342 Parliamentary constituencies ordered cards to send to their MP. This was a tremendous achievement and we could not have done any more.

There’s no doubt that today’s vote is a blow to our campaign to stop the decriminalisation of abortion. But we will not give in to despair. This setback will strengthen our resolve to keep fighting for the lives of unborn babies and for the wellbeing of their mothers. In particular, our hearts go out to the people of Northern Ireland. We know that their pro-life spirit will not be broken by this untimely attack on their political structure and this cruel attack on their unborn babies.

Urgent – contact your MP NOW asking them to vote against dangerous abortion amendment TONIGHT

Defend Democratic Process in Northern Ireland

    Dear SPUC Supporter,

The latest desperate attempt by pro-abortion MPs to foist their views on abortion on Northern Ireland is taking place today as an amendment to the Northern Ireland (Executive Formation and Exercise of Functions) Bill. The proposal under New Clause 7 (NC7) would not only offend against the proprieties of the devolved settlement but aims to create guidance directing senior officers of all Northern Ireland departments to act contrary to the existing law in the Province.

Please call or email your MP NOW asking them to vote against NC7.

You can call your mp at the house of commons on 02072193000. You can find your MP and their contact details here – https://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/mps/

Liam Gibson, Northern Ireland Officer for SPUC commented, “This attempt to by-pass the democratic process and overrule devolution makes a mockery of the Bill which is intended to help reinstate the devolved institutions. The devolved governance of Northern Ireland is crucially important. We do not need and do not want politicians who are not accountable to the people here, dictating to us about matters which have rightly been devolved to Stormont.

“Abortion is an emotive issue and one that elicits strong opinions. That makes it even more important that it is addressed by our own elected representatives.”

Than you for taking this urgent action.

    Antonia Tully

    SPUC Campaigns Director

    Dear Wendy,
Please will you send out this invitation to the 500 Crosses for Life Prayer Procession as soon as you can to your mailing list.

500 Crosses For Life is peaceful public prayer procession held in the city of London on the Saturday before Remembrance Sunday which we call “Remembrance Saturday”. We start from Westminster cathedral at 13:30 with white crosses and walk towards Parliament and the river Themes. There is a mourning ceremony for unborn children that die in abortion, and the day ends at Westminster abbey forecourt before the plaque laid there for the victims of oppression, violence and war. This is a witness to the most vulnerable in our society, it is an act of deep compassion and mournful love that all Christians can support and partake knowing that Christ himself is present, “Where two or three are gathered in my name I am with them” (Matt 18:20).

Did you know that in the UK some 500 unborn babies are killed every day and 500 mothers’ are wounded. Few know how many fathers’ suffer in this shameful tragedy. Many doctors abuse their conscience and profession believing they are helping mothers but in fact they are trying and satisfy Satan’s insatiable desire for innocent human blood. And most of our politicians’ hands are drenched in this innocent blood along with the mercenary organisations like Marie Stopes, British pregnancy Advisory Service and International Planned Parenthood Federation that profit from abortion. We do not judge anyone since we do not know their situation or motivation yet it is for all these that we process and pray that Our Lord’s Divine Mercy may be granted; and we know that His forgiveness is so great and His mercy so vast that all wrongs are righted and sorrows are healed in His embrace for love for us.

This procession is organised by EuroProLife and is present in many cities in Europe. The sight of Christian people carrying simple white crosses while praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet through European cities begging for Our Lord’s forgiveness is moving since the reality of the culture of death touches us all and we need to respond as followers of Jesus Christ. You are strongly invited to be with those who care and counted amongst those who love in response to Love. So Join us on 13:30 on Remembrance Saturday at Westminster Cathedral in a peaceful Public Prayer Procession for Life, love and mercy.

    Dear wendy walker,

Thank you to everyone who has written to a peer about Clause 4 and encouraged them to oppose it in the Lords.

We have some good news for you. Lord Mackay and Baroness O’Loan have brought forward an amendment (16) that will lessen the impact of Clause 4 that Stella Creasy added to the Bill in the Commons.

Unfortunately, Lord Aldonis has also brought forward an amendment (10) to the Bill which will severely worsen the impact of Stella Creasy’s amendment in the Commons. Whilst this amendment does not change the law, by directing that the law should not be enforced, it effectively renders the law null and void. This could effectively permit abortion in Northern Ireland on any basis up to 28 weeks gestation, imposing the most extreme abortion regime in the British Isles to the region.

    HOW YOU CAN HELP

The debate on the Bill is this evening and we need as many peers as possible to support amendment 16 and oppose amendment 10.

Please help ensure peers are there this evening by clicking the button below and taking one-minute to email a peer asking them to turn up on tonight, support amendment 16 and oppose amendment 10.

Please click here to email a peer now
For those on Twitter, we will be live-tweeting the debate in the Lords as it progresses tonight here. Please follow us on Twitter to keep up-to-date as this Bill proceeds.

    Many thanks,

    Birmingham, England
Isabel in Birmingham reported that a woman on the cusp of her third trimester of pregnancy entered the Marie Stopes abortion facility for her third late-term abortion.

“She told us her last aborted baby lived for three minutes [after being born alive,]” Isabel said. “She had been told if she gave birth to these children they would be taken in [by the state.]”

Volunteers offered support to the mom and her husband, but they proceeded with the abortion appointment anyway.

That same day, volunteers were encouraged when they learned of a baby saved from abortion at their vigil. And just a few days later, God used vigil participants to save a set of twins!

Here is a very brazen pro-abortion advert from the diabolical Planned Parenthood, which Trump is doing his best to defund… Notice, no more pretence that we are dealing with a “mere” bunch of cells or not a real human being. Nope. They are boasting about this little girl being nothing more than a “choice”. Shocking.
