Happy 50th Birthday, Margaret USA!
When we celebrated the 50th birthday of our sometime blogger, Summa – a Scotsman now resident in Australia – I promised, solemnly, that I would enter the date of Margaret USA’s 50th birthday in my diary to remind me to post a Birthday thread for Margaret – and so today, 13 June being that landmark birthday, let the jokes roll in along with the birthday greetings. Margaret isn’t a regular “regular” here but she does pop in from time to time… and, anyway, a promise is a promise!
Allow me, then, to be the first on the blog to wish you, Margaret, a very VERY happy 50th birthday. Enjoy!

Happy birthday, Margaret USA – have a wonderful day!
Many Happy Returns of the day Margaret – have a good one!
A very happy birthday, Margaret USA. Have a great time!
I did! Btw, if I had a dollar for every time someone called me “Margaret Mary” (my real name is Margaret Ann), I’d be a rich lady by now. That’s another reason why I go by Margaret USA – so we don’t get mixed up! 🙂
True story: On my first Ignatian retreat, a lady who had been on pilgrimage from Rome to France gave me a relic (I don’t know which class it is) of St. Margaret Mary. She got it from Paray-le-Monial in France and gave it to me out of the goodness of her heart. I wear it with my Byzantine crucifix.
A belated happy Feast of the Sacred Heart to you and the CT family.
In Christ,
Margaret 🇺🇸
Since Margaret is an American, I thought she would enjoy this joke:
Q: What do George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Christopher Columbus all have in common? A: They were all born on holidays.
LOL!
I wish you every happiness today, Margaret USA. Have a wonderful 50th birthday!
Lily,
Love the joke – LOL!
Many happy returns, Margaret, I hope you have a lovely 50th!
Happy Birthday, Margaret USA – and many more to come!
BTW, a tip for reaching 50 is to make friends with people much older than yourself – you’ll feel so much younger, LOL!
Margaret USA,
I wish you the happiest of days on your 50th birthday – God bless you!
Margaret USA,
Wishing you a very happy birthday, you are 50 years young. God bless you.

Margaret USA,
I remember 50….vaguely….Happy Birthday!
Vaguely? You seem pretty sharp to me!
Dear Madame Editor and all the CT family,
Thank you very much for the birthday post, greetings and jokes! My birthday also is:
1) the Feast of St. Anthony of Padua (Thank you, St. Anthony, for all the times you helped me!) & St. Aquilina, martyr (if you think you have troubles, google her story!)
2) the anniversary of the second apparition at Fatima
3) the anniversary of the appearance of the Most Holy Trinity & Our Lady at Tuy, requesting the collegial consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
4) the 36th anniversary of priesthood & 22nd anniversary of episcopal ordination of our retired Archbishop Stefan Soroka
5) and also Joseph R., my birthday buddy – he’s older than I
and
6) Basil Rathbone – Turner Classic Movies did a birthday salute to him
Here’s a Starbucks joke for everyone:
Q: Do you know why it’s called Starbucks?
A: Because when you pay the bucks, you see stars 🌟 🌟 🌟
Thank you everyone and God bless you!
In Christ,
Margaret USA 🇺🇸
That’s some company you keep on your birthday, Margaret! Impressive!
Glad you enjoyed the thread. I’ll try to remember the next landmark, ten years from now if we’re all still around!
God bless you and, again, many happy returns!
Dear Madame Editor,
I loved the thread – it was so kind of you to remember my birthday (oops, anniversary as you say over there ;-))!
Mom and I especially loved your cartoon. She turned 85 last month.
And for your viewing pleasure:

I’ve seen most of it.
God bless!

Margaret
P.S. Btw, where Athanasius?
Margaret USA,
We say “happy birthday” over here. Only “anniversary” for things like wedding anniversaries.
BTW the video won’t load in this country.
Sorry – mea culpa! I know that on the Continent, they use “anniversary” for “birthday”. Re the video: Maybe it’s just this particular video? I know Madame Editor has posted videos of Tucker Carlson (btw, he got criticized by his fellow journalists:
http://thehill.com/homenews/media/392600-tucker-carlson-criticized-for-warning-viewers-to-assume-the-opposite-in-news?amp) and they always play.
Thank you!
P.S. Please see my reply to Michaela on this thread re Tucker Carlson.
Margaret, happy belated 50th Birthday.
God bless.
Thank you, Chloe. I always learn something from your comments.
God bless!
In Christ,
Margaret 🇺🇸
I think that should be Summa: one-time blogger, not some-time 😊
A belated Happy Birthday to you Margaret USA!
(Sorry I didn’t post before, but I was on holiday and didn’t manage to get online often.)
I hope that you had a lovely day 🙂
Thank you, Gabriel! Yes I did. Best of all, I went to Liturgy in the morning and spent the whole day with my mom (who turned 85 in May).
Margaret 🇺🇸
