Morality: Cohen Plea – What SHOULD Trump Do Now?

Well, the knives are out for The Donald, no question about it – at least, judging by the reporting of the Michael Cohen guilty plea here in the UK, with reporters and presenters hardly able to conceal their delight at the possibility that President Trump will find himself either impeached in the near future, or in prison after he has left office. You could almost hear the champagne corks popping in the TV news studios today…
I may be wide of the mark here, and for goodness sake don’t take what I’m about to say as justification for either extra-marital affairs or ‘hush’ payments, but I can imagine a businessman like Trump thinking nothing of paying off some female blackmailers for the sake of avoiding the predictable publicity their stories, true or false, would bring – a distraction, to put it mildly, during a campaign to win the presidential election. After all, his reputation was not exactly squeaky clean, was it? So, assuming the payments were made from his personal bank account, I’m not sure they’re as significant as his enemies are implying. But then, I could be wrong. Bound to happen some day. What do you think – is Donald Trump implicated in criminal activity as a result of the Cohen guilty plea, and if so, what is the right thing, the moral thing, for him to do now – resign? Apologise and move on? What, then?

What does strike McCarthy as unusual is prosecutors lodging a felony charge over the payments. He says campaigns often make mistakes and usually the problems get resolved without litigation. He says the Obama campaign is a well-known example.
“The one we typically talk about is the 2008 Obama campaign, which had about $2 million worth of illegal contributions, which obviously dwarf the amount of money that we’re talking about in connection with these hush money agreements. Yet, that was settled with a $375,000 fine to the Federal Election Commission,” said McCarthy.
The entire report is well worth reading from start to finish. It really would irritate the socks off the Sky News brigade, so, for that reason alone, it’s worth a read 😀
I have been following the Mueller investigation since its inception some 18 or more months ago and I have to say that the corruption in U.S. politics at the highest level is quite staggering. They speak of justice and yet the injustice with which they pursue a hoped-for destruction of the Trump Presidency is clear to every objective observer in the world.
The moment Bob Mueller was appointed to lead the investigation into so-called “collusion” between Russia and the Trump campaign, initiated on the basis of a fabricated intelligence report and a misuse of U.S. intelligence tools, Mueller, a Clinton man, proceeded to stack his team with investigators who are all Democrats (13 of them to be precise). There is not a single Republican investigator on Mueller’s team which says all that needs saying about the intention of Mueller.
He began by investigating various political and financial advisors to the Trump team during the run up to the 2016 election. Of those, Paul Manafort, Carter Page and Michael Cohen were targeted. These have since been indicted for shady business practices, not something unusual in big business, but enough to bring criminal charges with a view to making them “flip” on Trump and provide prosecutors with any kind of information, true or false, that might assist them in their evil determination to bring Trump down.
Paul Manafort was found guilty in 8 of 18 charges of tax evasion and bank fraud. He faces decades in jail for his crimes and may well now be pressured into giving dirt on Trump to save his skin. This is what Cohen, a very unscrupulous lawyer, has just done. To be fair to Cohen, his offices should never have been raided by the Mueller team because there was no evidence linking him to Russian collusion, which is Mueller’s only investigative remit. It is also unheard of that a sitting President’s lawyer’s office gets raided by the DOJ with complete disregard for the lawyer/client privilege relating to information held at the lawyer’s office. As it happens, the matter is further damaging in that Cohen had been secretly recording his conversations with Trump, an appalling breach of trust on Cohen’s part for which he should be struck off.
Cohen once said he would take a bullet for Trump. Well, Mueller has managed to turn that around pretty quickly to the extent that Cohen is now stabbing the same Trump in the back.
Throughout all of these revelations involving Manafort, Page and Cohen, however, not one single piece of evidence has been found linking the Trump campaign to “collusion” with Russia. All they’ve done is find as much financial and sexual sleaze as they can to throw into the public domain to paint a picture of a President who is linked with high-roller criminals and prostitutes. They know well enough that mud sticks!
It is not unusual for mega rich businessmen to pay off blackmailers like Stormy Daniels, the “porn star”! It is often easier to silence these people with some hush money than to have to go through the humiliation and character damage of a full-blown public expose in the media. Very hard to prove years later that certain things didn’t take place! So Trump paid her off, he doesn’t deny it, it’s a common practice amongst the wealthy elite. So much, then, for what Cohen has to offer.
As for Paul Manafort, he only worked for the Trump campaign for five months, so quite how Mueller plans to turn that into a conspiracy of the Trump campaign with Russia remains to be seen.
While all this Mueller stuff is going on with ever more desperate haste to find dirt, not a single word is being said about the known corruption of Hilary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation, even her collusion with the Russians. And not a word about the secret whisper from Obama to Sergei Labrov, while Obama was President, saying that he would have more flexibility to deal after the election. He didn’t know the mic was still on when he whispered that to Labrov, yet not a word of outrage, no questions about “collusion”.
I think most reasonable people know that Trump has upset the “deep state”, the secret powers running the U.S. and the rest of the world. They own most of the media and a good number of politicians, judges and others with sway. They know well enough that Trump did not collude with Russia, that’s the excuse they’ve came up with to end his Presidency, just as criminal proceedings against Manafort and Cohen are an excuse to get them to “flip” on Trump.
This is real evil in your face and not remotely attempting to hide itself. Trump is hated by these people with a demonic hatred that is common to atheistic Communists. It’s just as Sister Lucy predicted all those years ago concerning America, that it, too, would fall under the Communist yoke. Trump is trying to free his country from that bondage, to “drain the swamp” as he puts it, but he is up against incredible evil in the high places and it remains to be seen which side will trump.
What we know for certain is that one day Our Lady will crush the high level corruptors in American and European politics, including the religious contingent infiltrated into the highest levels of the Church, destroying forever their Socialist/Liberal anti-Gospel and restoring all things in Christ. Until that happy day all we can do is pray for President Trump and all politicians of good will in the hope that they will win out over their evil detractors.

I agree with your analysis of the way they are going after Trump and can’t find a shred of evidence about Russian collusion, but ignoring the evidence that Hilary Clinton did collude. It’s very unjust.

That’s a very good summary of the real situation behind the Mueller scam. In fact, Judge Jeanine Pirro just called Mueller “the cleaner,” which is the same term as “the fixer.” His job is to (a) get Trump impeached, and especially (b) to make sure that Hillary Clinton is not prosecuted for her numerous crimes, by creating endless media-amplified legal distractions such as those you’ve summarized.
Mueller should be in jail, along with the Clintons, James Comey, John Brennan, Peter Strzok, etc. etc.
I’ve been praying for months now that the Mueller witch hunt be utterly destroyed, and that the real criminals be brought to justice. It seems that things are reaching their denouement as far as the Satanic Deep State’s malicious efforts go.

Agreed. We can only hope that the American people see what’s happening and give their vote to the Republicans at the mid-terms. If that happens then Trump can finally move on the criminal element in Washington and then get on with running the country.

The teaching of the Popes and the lessons of history are what makes Catholics know the truth about Socialist/Liberal principles in action. Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, is – you’ll never believe it – right here in Scotland today, up in Aberdeen playing golf.
He was cornered by James Matthews, Scot who reports for Sky News, and it was really fun watching Matthews trying to unsettle Giuliani – didn’t manage it.
I’ve tried to find it on YouTube, without success. Maybe later or tomorrow. Will check as and when.
From the get-go, Giuliani dismissed the whole Cohen/impeachment affair as going nowhere. Poor James Matthews didn’t know how to proceed. Priceless. It’s always so clear that if someone is truthful, they can’t BE unsettled, not really, not in Aberdeen 😀

Ed we know from day 1 that Trump was never the Medias choice or Soros choice for President. He was underestimated and there’s noway he would have been allowed to be voted in if the Media hadn’t underestimated the American People and let a True Vote run . Giuliani is a cool customer but I think he will be secretly concerned about the lengths the Trump haters are going to. I hear they have now promised imunity from prosecution to some newspaper editor who has agreed in return to tell what he knows about the Stormy Daniels affair.
Mueller is really stepping up the pressure to soil Trump’s character before the red herring “collusion” investigation finally gets shut down. He knows the more dirt he makes public via the fake news before November’s mid-term elections, the better the prospect of gaining a Democrat majority in Congress.
