The Mail Online report goes on to bemoan the fact that this supposed great “new knowledge” can be “harnessed for negative purposes” – citing the scandal of UK doctors caught by undercover reporters illegally providing gender selection.
However, what’s the bet that what the Mail Online today thinks is “negative” and is rightly illegal, tomorrow will be advertised as a wonderful advancement which must be allowed in law?
After all, if couples are permitted to design their own babies in a test-tube, why not allow them to go the whole hog and choose a boy or a girl … or even a “they” from among the 72 or so genders now on offer…
Gimme strength; that’s my opinion! What’s yours? And what about your priest? Bishop? They need to preach against this sort of attack on the natural order, to inform Catholics who are as ignorant about the (im)morality of these contemporary scientific “advancements” as everyone else.

Nothing new here Ed except that as you have commented on and again I fully agree with you and am like yourself not Joking what Evils are going on in these Laboratories. I don’t know if you seen an article about 2 years ago in the D. Mail about 2 so called Married Homosexual Men ( to each other of course ) who are Brits but are running a company in the US that provides Catalogue Children to Homosexuals mostly Male. Anyhow 2 Reprobates had ordered a Child with Green Eyes and straight hair. I kid you not one of the Guys was wanting to give the Child back because it had curly hair. I don’t know if it actually went through as these Deviants were Multi Millionaires through this Child Catalogue Service and this was one they had ordered on their own. As you have also said although there’s no evidence yet that I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if there trying to create Theybeis. Like God Forgive Me a cross between a Boy and a Girl. What a great coup that trophy would be to some of these Evil Hollywooders who would Love to have a proper Theybei to dress up every day at least until they got tired of the occasion and then wanted to dump the poor Theybei. Finishing on a better note am just after reading an article by the Feminist Jill Admington in the nearly and hope to be soon defunct Guardian. Please don’t take offence, but a simple comment from you expressing a desire (or not) to hear your priest preaching about this teaching from the pulpit would have been more beneficial for our readers.
We are all aware of the extremes of nonsense that are going on in the world today, but unlike those who are not internet savvy and have no way of knowing WHAT the Church teaches about this, you are blessed to at least know that IVF is, itself, condemned by the Church and no Catholic should use it, and thus, logically, it would be an outrage to use such a technique, not only to create a child, but a child of a particular gender. I know of people who were totally unaware that such procedures are banned until a family member enlightened them – and, needless to say, said educated family member was treated like an extremist from some mad cult.
If I may be your very good friend and suggest something, in conclusion, it is this…
You appear to be anxious never to miss an opportunity to have a go at our homosexual brothers and sisters, calling them various names, no doubt, with the intention of providing some light-hearted entertainment. I know you have no intention of being malicious, be assured, but those many flies on the wall, lurking in the wings, blah blah, just might draw the (wrong) conclusion that you are an uncharitable person. Perish the thought.
However, it really doesn’t help the cause – any cause – to do turn every discussion into a “reflection” (shall we say) on homosexuality.
This thread is about IVF / gender selection. That’s it. It’s either right or wrong, moral or immoral, ethical or unethical. Taking up one of these positions and then providing us with useful quotes and/or links to reports and articles, will help make a success of this topic (and any other topic).
This blog is about education, FOOF, and you are more than well enough equipped to play your part in that work, so beware of allowing yourself to become side-tracked.

Ok point taken . On the topic in hand i did think that it was relevant though to bring up the Catalogue Baby story as these are the type of things more than anything ( in my opinion) which is driving the so called I V F culture more than any other. Of course I stand corrected if am wrong.

Ask around all your Catholic family and friends to find out how many of them know whether or not the Church has spoken on the matter of IVF.
Don’t ask if they KNOW the Church has CONDEMNED it, just ask to find out how many, if any, know that it is prohibited.

I wonder how the test-tube scientists playing God will square “gender selection” – only two of which are possible, according to objective reality – with the ever-expanding gender demands of the LGBT brown shirts?
In my own locale, we are battling said brown shirts, who have the ear of the idiot Mayor and a couple of Council members, to prevent a “Human Rights Commission” from being created by City Council. The draft Ordinance seeks to make “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” protected classes, and speaks of “gender assigned at birth.”
So tell us, LGBT brown shirts, who exactly “assigns” the baby’s gender when he emerges from his mother’s womb? The doctor? An observer from the UN? And this “assignment” is based on……what?

I really liked the video talk by the young priest. He explained the Church’s position clearly. I do agree that very few Catholics will know what the Church teaches, and they will think it’s OK, your choice etc.
