Climate Cult & Conforming Kids…

Climate Cult & Conforming Kids…

In the above short discussion, the speakers acknowledge that the Climate Change movement is, in fact, “religion replacement”.

Julia Hartley-Brewer tries to pin down one of the leaders of the Green Party to “facts not fearmongering” – doesn’t work!

Comment:

What is MOST shocking about the entire climate change baloney is that Pope Francis has given the movement his full backing. Earlier this week, one of our Irish readers sent me  a leaflet circulating in the Diocese of Kerry (and no doubt the rest of Ireland) which opens with an unequivocal  statement that we have only “11 years to save Our Common Home” and then the following quote from this worst-ever pontiff:

“Time is runnning out!  Deliberations must go beyond mere exploration of what can be done, and concentrate on what needs to be done.   The climate crisis requires our decisive action, here and now and the Church is fully committed to playing her part.”  [Pope Francis].

If he were to exhort young people to work hard to build virtuous lives and so avoid the truly terrifying prospect of eternity in Hell, Pope Francis would, of course, lose his star appeal and the airwaves would be full of shocked “liberals” demanding that children be allowed to enjoy their lives without being filled with fear about Hell.  Fear about the end of the world in a mere 11 years, however, that’s fine.  No problem.  Anyway, it’s a moot point.  Papa Francis is never going to terrify youngsters with talk of Hell … Why?

Answer:  because somewhere along the line, he has lost his Faith. Agreed?

Why There Is No Anthropogenic Global Warming
The scientific conflict about global warming/climate change is rooted in the scientific question of whether or not the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has an impact on climate. There is a difference between climate and weather. Climate has social relevance and is determined from weather data by averaging over a certain period of time.

Water vapor has an impact on climate because it absorbs infrared radiation and there is more water vapor in the tropics than in a desert. Every traveler should know that at night a tropical island is warmer than a desert. On the other hand, the core of the Earth is very hot, and a small amount of heat reaches the surface of the Earth. It is reasonable to say this heat affects the weather but not the climate. Another example of the difference between weather and climate is the very unusual weather event in which a lake emits a large amount of carbon dioxide. The 1986 Lake Nyos disaster in Cameroon killed 1746 people and 3500 livestock through asphyxiation. It is absurd to say that the climate of Cameroon is dangerous.

Many scientists who studied the connection between temperatures and the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and know all the forces that change weather explain in articles and books that the amount carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has no affect on climate. There are also many scientists who have studied the data and disagree.

Influenced by these studies, the U.S. federal government and state governments have spent about 40 billion dollars over the years promoting and subsidizing solar and wind energy even though solar energy is 4 times more expensive than gas, oil, and coal and wind energy is 2 times as expensive. The rationale behind this expense is that decreasing the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by burning fossil fuels will make the climate colder than it would be without the renewable sources of energy. The scientists who support this large expenditure are the scientists who say carbon dioxide has an impact on climate.

The atmosphere mostly consists of nitrogen (78%), oxygen (21%), and argon (1%). There is also water vapor, which varies depending on location. There are also trace gases. Carbon dioxide accounts for 96% of the trace gases. What follows is the atmospheric composition in terms of the number of molecules in a dry area of the planet:
    carbon dioxide: 1 molecule
    argon: 25 molecules
    oxygen: 525 molecules
    nitrogen: 1950 molecules

The carbon dioxide in the atmosphere comes from animal and human respiration, oceanic and mantle degassing, volcanoes, decomposition of biota, and burning of oil, gas, and coal. Only 3% comes from burning fossil fuels, which can be referred to as anthropogenic carbon dioxide. We can re-write the composition of the atmosphere as follows:
    anthropogenic carbon dioxide: 1 molecule
    non-anthropogenic carbon dioxide: 33 molecules
    argon: 850 molecules
    oxygen: 17, 850 molecules
    nitrogen: 66,300 molecules

About half of the anthropogenic carbon dioxide in the United States comes from producing electricity which is what solar and wind energy are used to replace. We can revise the above table:
carbon dioxide from electricity: 1 molecule
carbon dioxide from transportation et. al. : 1 molecule
    non-anthropogenic carbon dioxide: 66 molecules
    argon: 1,700 molecules
    oxygen: 35,700 molecules
    nitrogen: 132, 600 molecules

As a result of this enormous expenditure, 2% of electricity in the U. S. is now produced by solar and wind energy. Revising the table:
carbon dioxide from electricity removed: 1 molecule
carbon dioxide from electricity not removed: 50 molecules
carbon dioxide from transportation et. al. : 51 molecules
    non-anthropogenic carbon dioxide: 3,366 molecules
    argon: 86, 700 molecules
    oxygen: 1,820,700 molecules
    nitrogen: 6,762,600 molecules

This means that for every 8, 673, 468 molecules in the atmosphere there is one less carbon dioxide molecule thanks to the 40 billion dollars. But this change was spread over the entire globe. This raises the question of what benefit the U.S. got from the expense. Since the U.S. emits about 1/7th of the carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels, it is reasonable to use the factor of 7 to estimate the impact on the U.S. of this reduction in carbon dioxide molecules. What the U.S. got for the 40 billion dollars is one less carbon dioxide molecule out of 60, 714, 276 molecules.

There is another consideration. The reason carbon dioxide is considered to be bad is that it absorbs infrared radiation. But water vapor also absorbs infrared radiation and there is about as much water vapor in the atmosphere as argon. I think it is reasonable to use the factor 100 to account for the impact of water vapor. In other words, the 40 billion dollars spent eliminates 1 molecule of carbon dioxide for every 6 billion molecules in the atmosphere.

There is yet another considering. People prefer living in Florida than Minnesota. This means there is a 50% chance that the change in climate will be beneficial. So we can say that 1 molecule of carbon dioxide was removed from 12 billion molecules in the atmosphere. It is safe to say that the 40 billion dollars spent on reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was a waste of money, and that people who say it is money well spent can’t be trusted.

      David Roemer,

Not being a scientist myself, I’ll need to take time to read your post really carefully, but can you post a tutorial type of video which is quite short and clearly explains the key points? That would be really helpful.

One thing I am curious about that you might be able to answer.

The climate change protesters say we need to be careful with water, and use it sparingly. But I have always understood that there is always the same amount of water in the world, and that the only problem is that some poorer nations are suffering drought only because they don’t have the proper infrastructure to manage their water. Is that true?

Even Vatican News is reporting on Pope Francis maintain that climate change is an issue of great importance for humanity and the whole of creation….https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2019-05/pope-francis-on-climate-change-time-is-of-the-essence.html

What happened to reminding humanity of the Four Last Things – Death, Judgement, Heaven or Hell? For there seems very little happening to remind people that one day we die and thence face our Judgement of where we spend our eternity.

But, was there not something about there are no souls in hell – these souls disappear.

    https://consciousreminder.com/2018/04/14/apparently-pope-francis-says-there-is-no-hell-and-sinners-just-disappear-after-death

We must and we have a duty to pray for Pope Francis and Catholic clergy of all ranks especially in this longstanding crisis.

      Theresa Rose,

I wanted to say thanks for that reminder about Pope Francis comments about souls disappearing, instead of going to Hell. I think that must be the clearest ever case of wishful thinking, LOL!

Those are two great video discussions at the top – thank goodness there are some people talking sense about this stupid climate change rubbish.

These climate change clowns have caused disruption by blocking a motorway exit and gluing themselves down. Absolute idiots. The oldest is 91 years old – wouldn’t you think he would have learned some sense by now?
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/09/21/extinction-rebellion-protesters-cause-chaos-gluing-a20-exit/

It just amazes me how easy it seems to be to whip people into a frenzy about supposed “causes”. Stupid is as stupid does, as the saying goes.

LOL! I saw that report on MSN – what idiots, as you say. These so called protesters are really making fools of themselves, and bringing science into disrepute at the same time because there are young people in the schools who go into the science of it and know the “crisis” is not a crisis at all. You won’t find them on any of these protests.

I think I’ve already mentioned recently that I’m in the middle of a book called “The Red Decade” by Eugene Lyons, which is a detailed account of the Communist infiltration of America in the 1920s and esp. the 1930s.

The tactics used then are the same now, including the use of harmless or benevolent-sounding front groups to attract idealistic non-Communists – influential idealistic non-Communists in particular. This puts a window-dressing of respectability on what would otherwise be recognized as revolting Communist jingoism.

Two of the current major drives by the disguised Communists and their idealistic fellow-travelers (aka useful idiots) are climate change and LGBT-ism. The purpose of the climate change hoax is to empty your pocketbooks and your refrigerators, starving you half to death economically and physically.

The purpose of LGBT-ism is to destroy Christianity.

But back to the use of youth. Chapter 18 of Lyon’s book is entitled “Stalin’s Children’s Hour in the USA.” Here are some quotes:

“The young men and women passing hazily and in a condition of glandular overexcitation through the difficult years between childhood and adulthood are credited with a sort of collective wisdom and competence, with special rights and special moral authority…Their opinions are more crudely colored by undefined emotional urges, at this stage of rapid adjustment, than at any other time in their lives. Because of immaturity and youthful eagerness they “follow the leader” more blindly than any other age group, and are perfect raw stuff for demagogic molding.

The glorification of Youth is a modern development . It puts a premium on lack of experience, mental fuzziness and intuition as against intelligence and maturity . I watched both Italian Fascism and German Nazism at close range in their formative stages . It is not generally appreciated to what a large extent they were both Youth movements . Demagogues who knew what they wanted used the energies and emotional drives of young people who had not the remotest notion what they really wanted . In both those countries, Youth was deliberately mobilized to beat civilization into a pulp.

American Youth was no longer descriptive of an age group passing through adolescence-its organized and regimented minority had become a sloganeering political lobby, a bigger and louder pressure group, competing with elders for handouts and privileges as though it were a permanent class rather than a period of biological transition . The more articulate and capable were making professions and careers as Youth leaders . Partly through sentiment and largely for political advantage, politicians flattered the Youth lobbies and catered to their pretentious self-importance . It was inevitable that the most rigidly organized, disciplined and purposeful minority would take over this Youth racket and use it for its own purposes-and for a long time the elders, from the President of the United States down, were content to applaud the antics instead of exposing the influences and motives behind the whole show. Those who should guide young people are content to follow, leaving that function to crackpot “champions of Youth” or political demagogues aiming to capture the campus and the youth . A lopsided liberalism has led teachers to believe that Youth must be given complete independence, that its preferences are inviolable . The result is that young people are set adrift just when they need and crave steering ; the first group with a plausible and exciting program takes them over. Why the authority of a disinterested pedagogue should be evil and the authority of an interested demagogue good is beyond explanation . It is just another phase of the mythology of fashionable “modernism.” The practical effect is that the influence of teachers, parents and adjusted elders is displaced by the influence of ax-grinding outsiders and political charlatans.”

Pope Francis, being a Marxist, has dutifully followed this strategy in his efforts to create a new church: viz., the “Youth Synod.” I do not know what faith he practices, but it certainly isn’t the Catholic Faith. Meanwhile, the news needs to be broadcast far and wide that this hoax is just International Communism in one of its numerous disguises.

      RCA Victor,

Very interesting article indeed. Many thanks for posting it; the headline says it all “Utopian Authoritarianism” – exactly!

On the news today, several cities, including London, enjoyed “car free” days.

Crazy people, sitting on green sofas, looking ridiculous. How they will cringe in the years to come, when the planet is still here and gone from strength to strength free of the shackles of the EU!

Thank you for reminding me of this story, it made me smile too. Oh for the practicalities of those days – some said it was a matter of waste not, want not. Never a mention of climate change.

I was shocked that the EIS teaching union urged schools not to take action against pupils who engaged in truancy to attend these idiotic demonstrations. Could you imagine if pupils didn’t attend school to join a rosary crusade somewhere? They’d be quick enough to discipline them then!

It’s disgraceful that all those kids were out of school for this nonsense. The two TalkRadio videos are great – those interviewers nailed the lies brilliantly. What are their parents thinking of, letting them take time off school. I heard one saying it was always on a Friday, as if the lessons on Fridays don’t matter. If that’s the case, they should make school a four day week all the time!

As this article asks in conclusion, “If global warming is not a fraud, why do the promoters of it so often do the sorts of things that fraudsters do?”

      RCA Victor,

That article is a very welcome reminder of the fraud that was in the news a few years ago but which got glossed over and is now ignored here in the UK.

The last paragraph, quoting the London Times, really does lay bare the fraud. I wonder if Greta Thunberg knows about that fraud?

I watched Greta Thunberg on the news this evening, lecturing people at the UN saying “how dare you!” over and over. This poor girl is truly being manipulated and when she gets older and finds the planet is still here and doing well, how will she feel then, at having made such a fool of herself?

    • westminsterfly

She is definitely being manipulated. Apparently, she has had issues with Aspergers Syndrome, depression etc, which would partially explain her morbid obsession with this stuff. I read that her parents are quite into it, which would also explain a lot. I have worked with people with Aspergers in the past and they can sometimes be obsessive and also impressionable. It’s wicked that the ‘left’ and the media are using this girl in this way. It will all end in tears. And besides, I’m sure most of the children who took part in this nonsense just used it as an excuse to bunk off school. Certainly the youngsters in the school/college right next to where I live don’t seem to have a clue about protecting the environment. The playing fields opposite where I live are used by the students in the lunch hour and they always leave it strewn with litter.

Here’s the climate star giving her tearful address to the UN – a clip from Sky News… Gimme strength! Does anybody know what, exactly, they think is going to happen in 11 years time if “action” isn’t taken? Is the world going to explode/implode/disappear – what?
