Transgenderism: Catholic Journalist Facing Prison For Telling the Truth

Transgenderism: Catholic Journalist Facing Prison For Telling the Truth

From CitizenGo:

CitizenGO’s Campaign Director for the UK and Ireland, Caroline Farrow, could find herself in prison for nothing more than telling the truth about male and female!

Earlier this year Caroline found herself under investigation by her local police force after she described the sex-reassignment surgery performed on a sixteen-year old boy as ‘castration’, ‘a form of child abuse’ and ‘mutilation’.

Following a media backlash, Susie Green, director of the transgender lobby group Mermaids decided to drop the charges. However, another activist, Stephanie Hayden, decided to pick up where Mrs Green had left off and ensure that Caroline was punished.

Stephanie Hayden, who was born as Anthony George Steven Halliday, has a concerning criminal record which includes the following:

Violent affray with a golf club

Several offences of dishonesty
Sexual assault

He began targeting Caroline over social media in a relentless campaign of abuse, including attacking her Catholic faith and made several threats, supposedly in the form of a joke, to come and play golf at her house.

Caroline, who is a mother of 5 young children, was understandably very frightened, especially as her family had already been receiving a number of threats from activists who had found out where they lived and so she stood up to and highlighted his abuse on her Twitter account.  Read and sign petition here

Comment:

Caroline is a Catholic journalist who was interviewed on breakfast TV with Susie Green, Director of the transgender lobby group, Mermaids   You can see the original interview on Good Morning Britain here

Is this really the sort of thing that should be brought before the courts?

Your thoughts welcome – but don’t forget to sign the petition!

That’s absolutely NOT what the courts are for! That poor woman, all that worry on her mind, and for what? Saying men and women can’t change their sex. It’s patently absurd.

These people who have nothing more to do with their time than look for reasons to make other people’s lives miserable, are idiots They really do need to get a life.

      MM,

I, too, wonder at the time these nuts spend making other people miserable. One wonders why they don’t catch themselves on, as the saying goes, and stop playing silly beggars to use their time more productively.

        Ed,

The reason these nuts spend time making people feel miserable is because they are miserable themselves. I genuinely do pity transgender people and homosexuals as they suffer an affliction, but they labour under the misapprehension that we hate them. Nothing could be further from the truth. We want them to receive the full blessing of faith in Christ and membership in His Church, and obtain true liberation from sin.

        CC,

Well said. We need to always remember to keep these endangered souls in our prayers, bearing the mind the many spiritual warnings in Scripture and in the writings of the saints. Not least this observation from the patron saint of priests, St John Vianney (Cure D’Ars)…

“If we were required to die twice, we could jettison one death. But man dies once only, and upon this death depends his eternity. Where the tree falls, there it shall lie. If, at the hour of death, someone is living in bad habit, the poor soul will fall on the side of hell. If, on the other hand, he is in the state of grace, it will take the road for heaven. Oh, happy road!”

Our Lord warned us to be ready for death at any moment, because death comes, as a thief in the night – and we do not know the day nor the hour.

If we all truly kept the truth about death at the forefront of our minds, we would not be doing – as this young person is doing – causing calculated unhappiness to others, in this case worrying the mother of a large family with the prospect of having to spend two years in prison – for speaking the truth. Incredible.

        Ed,

I for one have been dwelling upon my soul after such a long time from Church and the Sacraments and am going to go for confession tomorrow morning. The Church is in crisis, and I believe that the members of the Church are being chastened and purified, as by fire, and I pray that I will return to the faith stronger than ever. Please pray that I make a good confession.

I agree – it’s ridiculous that this woman is to be dragged before the court next Tuesday.

Piers Morgan was a wimp in that interview, worrying about the hurt feelings of the transgender lobby. He just ignored what Caroline Farrow said about the facts of what happens to a young person and interrupted her to bleat on about hurt feelings and being careful in discussions. There’s something about effete men that is terribly unattractive.

I will be praying for Caroline Farrow now and I look forward to hearing that the case has been dismissed in court. If she goes to prison over this nonsense, it will surely be a turning point and bring sensible people out onto the streets.

      Lily,

I agree about Piers Morgan. He can be very strong on the “trans” issue, but he was definitely out of order in that interview with Caroline.

Yes, we should pray for Caroline, definitely. She must be very worried indeed, although I think any judge in his right mind, will throw the case out of court within minutes.

I think that the power and influence wielded today by such deranged and dangerous people like Tony Haliday is a chilling sign of the decay of our culture and society.

There is a significant number among the “LGBT community” who seem to rely on conflict generation and obsessive bullying as distractions from daily life. Which is strange, given how wonderful and happy their lives and claimed to be, especially after such a long struggle for the right to live as they saw fit.

I think that tells its own story.

      Gabriel Syme,

I think you’ve hit on a key feature of these disturbed individuals: they’ve learned by observation how to weaponize their victim mentality. This is quite useful to those who are busy creating a Communist police state, and also quite useful to the individuals themselves, since attacking others is much easier (and much more profitable) than putting the blame where it belongs: on their own disordered minds and emotions.

I continue to maintain, in fact, that through the state enforcement of political correctness, i.e. cultural Marxism, (a) the UK is already a Communist police state thanks to the Muslim invasion and LGBT-ism, and (b) LGBT-ism in particular is just Communism in disguise. It uses the same tactics against truth as were used in Stalinist Russia, and its objective is the same: the destruction of Christianity.

        RCA Victor & Gabriel Syme,

I’m interested in the references to “disturbed individuals”; “deranged and dangerous” [people], relating to this report about a “transgender” individual.

I’ve never given the matter much thought but this evening I felt prompted to Google to see if there is any connection with being LGBT+++++ (!) and mental illness. And is there, just !

Even the thoroughly leftie Guardian can’t dodge the fact – the report below was penned by a “gay” man: :

The thing is, in many cases, mental illness and being queer go hand in hand. It’s an uncomfortable but important reality that LGBT youth are four times more likely to kill themselves than their heterosexual counterparts. More than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. Even among Stonewall’s own staff, people who dedicate themselves to the betterment and improved health of our community, 86% have experienced mental health issues first-hand. It’s a morbid point to make, but it makes perfect sense that we, as a community, struggle disproportionately.
        https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/may/12/lgbt-mental-health-sexuality-gender-identity

This explains the over the top reaction of this young “trans” man to any objective criticism, and it explains, too, the lack of emotional intelligence in men (and probably women) in the LGBT+++++ (!) camp – if you’ll excuse the pun 😀

I agree – it’s the victim mentality that gets to me. These LGBTQ people have got their lifestyles accepted and they are all over the place, in politics, media, business, medicine, law, everywhere, yet they still manage to present themselves as poor wee souls who are not accepted in society. What else do they want?

        Fidelis,

The leadership of this “community” (as if pornography consumers could possibly constitute a community…) wants, as I posted above, the destruction of Christianity.

As for the rest of the community, they are just the useful idiots being encouraged to play their victim game.

I think Caroline Farrow had some involvement with the dubious ‘Catholic Voices’ media group. I don’t know if she is still involved. Despite that, I have signed the petition. If anyone tries to extol the virtues of the ‘trans’ lifestyle, point them to this website http://www.sexchangeregret.com and also, stop buying National Lottery products as they are funding the ‘trans children’ project called ‘Mermaids’ to the tune of £500,000 over 5 years: https://mermaidsuk.org.uk/blog/mermaids-blog/lottery/ If you look on the site there are other trusts and charities that are supporting them. No Catholic can support this kind of thing in good conscience.

      WF,

Yes, Caroline was one of the early members of Catholic Voices but I believe she became disenchanted with them and stopped appearing for them, because of their failure to wholly speak the truth about Catholic teaching in the media.

Thank you for those useful links.

One more thing. I am frequently criticised for my forthright personality which, I’m told, prevents people from hearing the full “message”. My “personality” is frequently given as the reason why I, personally, (to quote one critic) have not succeeded in attracting more people to the Catholic Truth apostolate. Of course, as I explained on another thread, our apostolate is an emergency apostolate and not suited to everyone anyway. It struck me on digesting that particular criticism, that I don’t go out of my way to “attract” anyone – more bloggers would be great but, even then, we seem to attract more trolls than those with an intent to help to educate or educate themselves. I suppose that’s what they call “life”!

However, my point is, that nobody could accuse Caroline Farrow of having an off-putting personality. She has a lovely personality. She spoke so humbly, not at all forthright – in fact, I found myself talking to her on screen, telling her to not let Piers Morgan get away with his continual interruptions and ask him why he is ignoring these devastating facts; she did none of that. She very quietly put the facts in a calm voice and humbly accepted the interruptions.

So, there is no excuse for attacking Caroline on any front – she has done nothing except offer the facts about the truth that we are created male and female and that cannot be changed, just because someone imagines that they “don’t feel comfortable” in their body.

      October 10, 2019 at 10:55 am
      • Petrus

“I don’t go out of my way to “attract” anyone”

This isn’t true. Didn’t you recently ask for advice on how to attract others to the Catholic Truth Apostolate?

        October 10, 2019 at 11:37 am
      • editor

        Petrus,

Yes, I remember that – it was a jokey rhetorical question, in response to someone who was thanking me for my advice… just like when I stood at the table in the church tearoom last Sunday, for a few words with a couple of readers enjoying their coffee, and suggested that if they have any spare time they might want to do a bit of blogging – I was laughing at the time so I can’t blame them if they didn’t take my suggestion seriously. I should have spent a bit more time with them, sat down to do a sales pitch instead of remaining standing for a couple of minutes – (selfishly, I was keen to get back to my own table, tea and chocolate biscuit!)

I do, of course, from time to time, publish exhortations in the newsletter encouraging readers to sign up for the blog (haven’t done so for a while, but that’s due to my own carelessness) so I suppose it all depends on what one means by “not going out of my way” – so far, I’ve not taken out a full page ad in the London Times… but there’s an idea… 😀

And, hey, if you have any ideas, spill !

On topic: what do you think about poor Caroline Farrow. SHOULD she be facing two years in jail for merely speaking the truth about transgenderism?

        October 10, 2019 at 1:04 pm
      • Fidelis

        Editor,

I completely agree – Piers Morgan treated Caroline very harshly, refusing to take on board the medical scientific facts she was providing. I had him down as someone who isn’t into political correctness but I was wrong, more’s the pity.

She definitely must not go to jail. That would be a total outrage.

        Editor,

I’m not here for the personality, I’m here for all those zeroes in my paycheck…

But seriously, Catholic Truth is an email apostolate, and the blog is an internet apostolate, so the question of personality, or any personal characteristic, isn’t even relevant. That would be akin to someone saying “I don’t like the personality of Editor’s computer, so I refuse to participate.”

Crackers…and merely an excuse for not participating.

And speaking of forthright personalities, how about St. Jerome?

        RCA Victor,

I’m wounded! I thought my magnetic personality was keeping you here – how disappointing!

As for St Jerome, described as

        wayward (me? RCA Victor, you kidding?! I hope you can tell that I typed that with an American accent);

        his love of extremes (OK, I eat too much chocolate, but still…calling me an extremist? I’m totally wounded…);

        his exceeding sensitiveness (how COULD you! Now, I’ll have to make an urgent appointment to see my therapist!);

how he was in turn exquisitely dainty (Yes, that’s me. So sweet!), and also

        bitterly satirical (when I’m finished with the therapist, I’m off to see a lawyer);

unsparingly outspoken concerning others and equally frank about himself.

OK. I give up. Guilty as charged… My final word, though, is a word of warning – don’t think because you’re an ocean away that you’re safe… Remember, crazy people can get into America as well – I proved that once, and I can prove it again 😀

Nay nay, good Editrix, my point lieth elsewhere. Namely, that St. Jerome, probably the greatest scholar the Church has ever produced, got himself into difficulties because he also had a “forthright” personality.

So if low participation on this blog is allegedly due to your forthright personality (which I think is nonsense), I’d say you were in excellent company.

As for you crossing the Atlantic in search of revenge, I’m not worried: I have some friends high up in the straitjacket biz….

        RCA Victor,

I knew that was your point. I got it right away. They don’t say I’m a genius for nothing. In fact, they actually don’t say I’m a genius at all. 😀

I just thought I’d have a bit of fun with it.

The saints do give me some comfort. St Jerome was well chosen – thank you! And my own favourite saint, Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower, who is generally thought of as a gentle, poetic soul (she did write in prayerful poetic terms, describing her love of God) also revealed, in her autobiography, that, as novice mistress, her novices found her “severe”.

There’s no “one-size-fits-all” spiritual or religious profile. We’re all trying in our various ways. And I have to confess that I am well aware that I am very trying 😀

        Editor,

I had to read St. Therese’s autobiography when I was a Third Order Carmelite, and my reaction to her early life was “What a brat!”

But, what that has to do with the truth about transgenderism, I couldn’t say….meanwhile, if this poor woman might face jail time because she told the truth about that, then all I can say is that it’s not just the Church which is under the cloud of diabolical disorientation.

        October 11, 2019 at 2:06 am
      • editor

        RCA Victor,

St Therese admits to having been a very difficult child but because she was so well taught by her sister(s), she knew, even at three years of age, that she wanted to love God above all else. However, as you say, what has this got to do with transgenderism – except to recall the words of GK Chesterton that “when people stop believing in God, it’s not that they believe in nothing – they’ll believe anything!”

I emailed Caroline Farrow to tell her that we are supporting her on this thread and praying for her as the court date approaches. She replied in gratitude, so let’s not forget to keep her in our prayers as she suffers this “cloud of diabolical disorientation” as you put it. You are so right – it’s not just the Church, but the world which is diabolically disoriented.

I had a conversation at work with colleagues about transgenderism and homosexuality. I said that I would never accept it if my child was transgender or homosexual. I would accept them, and assist them to lead a chaste life, but would never support practice of the lifestyle. All I got in response, from a lapsed Catholic colleague was, “it’s their choice”, and from another, “you don’t know what you’d do if it was your own child”. Er, well, sorry, but I do know as I’m loyal to Catholic doctrine before any earthly consideration. I never understood unconditional support for people’s lifestyles. What if my children turned out as drug addicts or axe murderers?

    October 10, 2019 at 5:06 pm
    • editor

      CC,

Sadly, the responses you experienced from alleged Catholic colleagues is typical. The “their choice” mantra reveals an inability to think for oneself. As far as possible, most folks these days simply follow the crowd. As GK Chesterton wrote: “Only dead fish go with the flow.. Live fish swim against the current.”

I don’t know if you ever watched Fargo, the TV series, but the main character Lester Nygaard had a poster in his cellar with 10 fish swimming one way, and one going the other and a caption saying “what if you’re right and they’re wrong”.

I told him that I was keeping everyone updated on the blog, and he seemed pleased about that, asking for as many prayers as possible. John was an indefatigable pro-lifer and a very active advocate of the Fatima Message. He has also been a strong and faithful supporter of Catholic Truth since the very beginning.

It is unlikely that he will be able to return home, so our prayers are really best focused on a happy and peaceful death for him, and comfort for the family.

Here is a shocking case of a mother convincing her 3 year old* son that he is a girl – and the father’s custody battle to save him. https://savejames.com/

    * In the original report, where I read about this case, it said that the son was three years old – in the “save james” link he is said to be seven. There is a short video clip of him at three, on the site, but I’m guessing that he is now seven. Hope that’s clear! Anyway, whether 3 or 7, as the father says in the radio interview, he is being sexually abused by his mother. A shocking case.
