Ascension Thursday: “I am with you always…” Pray for the Church, Urgently!
Comment:
Our Lord’s final words on this earth were an exhortation to go out into the whole world, bringing souls into the Church, and a promise to be with His Church “…always, even to the consummation of the world.” (Matt 28:20)
But who believes that any more? Where are the bishops and priests today who believe they have a duty to seek converts to the Faith? Who actually believes that Christ’s promise to be with His Church always still holds good, given that the widespread apostasy (notably the manifest loss of faith in key dogmas such as the Real Presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament) is hiding in plain sight… How can we claim that Christ is still “with His Church”?
If so, why are bishops and priests so keen to spread false religions? If you haven’t signed this petition to stop the public broadcast of the Muslim Call to Prayer, please do so now, because this will not be a temporary measure for Ramadan in Lockdown – this will remain as a permanent feature of life in those particular London boroughs and will likely spread from there to other parts of the UK. No doubt about it.
There’s no need to ask whether or not Catholic clergy approve this – that’s a given. Otherwise, what’s with all the ecumenical and inter-faith dialogue over years now?
So, today, on this important Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord into Heaven, let us pray especially for Holy Mother Church, so betrayed in our times by faithless religious leaders, even to the very top of the Church. On this important Feast, then, we offer the following prayers for the Church and the Pope…
Almighty and Everlasting God, have mercy on Thy servant Francis our Supreme Pontiff, and direct him, according to Thy loving kindness, in the way of eternal salvation, that with Thy help he may ever desire that which is pleasing to Thee and accomplish it with all his strength. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
A PRAYER TO SAINT GREGORY VII, POPE AND CONFESSOR
O invincible defender of Holy Church’s freedom, Saint Gregory of great renown, by that firmness thou didst show in maintaining the Church’s rights against all her enemies, stretch forth from Heaven thy mighty arm, we beseech thee, to comfort her and defend her in the fearful battle she must ever wage with the powers of darkness. Do thou, in an especial manner, give strength in this dread conflict to the venerable Pontiff who has fallen heir not only to thy throne, but likewise to the fearlessness of thy mighty heart; obtain for him the joy of beholding his holy endeavors crowned by the triumph of the Church and the return of the lost sheep into the right path. Grant, finally, that all may understand how vain it is to strive against that faith which has always conquered and is destined always to conquer: “this is the victory which overcometh the world, our faith.” This is the prayer that we raise to thee with one accord; and we are confident, that, after thou hast heard our prayers on earth, thou wilt one day call us to stand with thee in Heaven, before the eternal High Priest, Who with the Father and the Holy Spirit liveth and reigneth world without end. Amen.
Note: although we are dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass at this time, live-streamed Masses can be found if you search on YouTube.

Happy Feast Day everyone, today.
I think Cardinal Burke’s renewed call for the Consecration of Russia gives us some cause for hope, evidencing, as it does, the fact that there are some “top churchmen” who realise the truth about the state of the Church and the world and the only way to put things right.
I’ll also post the link below on the Fatima thread, but I think it’s appropriate to post here as well, given that we are invited to express our concerns – and remedies – for the state of the Church now, as compared to when Our Lord gave His mandate to be missionaries, to His disciples right before He left this earth to return to Heaven, charging His Church with the responsibility of spreading the Faith to the ends of the earth. How well is that going?
https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/cardinal-burke-consecration-of-russia-to-our-lady-more-needed-now-than-ever
Happy Feast!
That’s good that Cardinal Burke has called again for the consecration of Russia but what I’d like to know is whether he has talked to Pope Francis about this? Did he talk to Benedict before that? I suppose it shows at least that some are realising the bit about it being “late” – it can’t get much later!
Regarding the intro questions – the whole ecumenical and interfaith movements have killed off the whole missionary work of the Church. You can’t try to convert people when you think their religion is just as good.
Ascension day is a very good time to realise this, and pray for a re-awakening of the faith in the souls of the clergy and hierarchy.
I agree – even the Pope has said anyone can get to heaven, even atheists, so what will he be celebrating on this feast day, LOL!
If we are not supposed to try to bring people into the Church, what’s the point of today’s feast.
Happy Ascension Day everyone!
Fidelis,
I’m afraid Cardinal Burke is a pariah in the sick Marxist world of Francis and his cabal, so given the deafening silence of the vast majority of the hierarchy regarding any defense of the Faith – let alone the Consecration of Russia – I’m not very optimistic that his speech will create any positive waves.
That said, we need to storm Heaven for some Heavenly waves….
Here’s a little light relief – and wise words to apply to ourselves, from a toddler!
Editor,
Loved the video – what a darling little girl! I’m sure her parents had a great laugh over that telling off, LOL!
Editor
What a wee cutie, and a wee granny as well by the sound of her. That is absolutely hilarious, worth watching over and over again, especially when we need a laugh.
Editor,
What wisdom from such a little girl! It gives me hope that God is bringing such wise souls into the world, in numbers unbeknownst to us, to prepare us all for the dark times ahead….
I’m posting a link from Rorate Caeli – it’s a sermon about how so many Catholics seem quite content with virtual Masses. How sad is that?
Fontgombault Sermon for the Ascension: “We feel a deep sorrow when we read that the experience of virtual Masses seems to satisfy a not inconsiderable number of Christians.”
Ascension of the Lord
Sermon of the Right Reverend Dom Jean Pateau
Abbot of Our Lady of Fontgombault
Fontgombault, May 21, 2020
https://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2020/05/fontgombault-sermon-for-ascension-we.html
Margaret Mary,
That’s a very good sermon. I am copying part of it here, because it struck home to me in a special way:
“Was Jesus wrong on the evening of Maundy Thursday? Did he do too much, say too much? Why wasn’t He content with asserting a vague and remote love of God for men? No indeed, the disciples did hear this:
“This is My body, which is given for you. […] This is the chalice, the new testament in My blood, which shall be shed for you.” (Lk 22:19-20)
Did you, through radio, television, or internet, receive communion, receive the flesh and blood of Christ? These means of attending Mass can be acceptable only when faced with a true inability, or an insuperable hindrance. That has been the case for many weeks now. Many Christians have lived what has been the daily lot of several monasteries of cloistered sisters, deprived of the daily Eucharist by the lack of priests. May all of them feel the sorrow of these nuns, and may they not get accustomed to virtual Masses!
Let us answer the gift of divine love. The decrease in priestly and religious vocations, and the decline in Mass attendance, are but the consequence of the cooling off of human hearts.”
How very sad that is but he is right. The love of God and his Church has been cooling for a long time now in the hearts of the people. Maybe this lockdown will force everyone to rethink their priorities. Usually in times of crisis or tragedy, we head for the church. Now we can’t. It just might make some people think again.
Happy Feast Day to everyone. Love the address of Cardinal Burke, hope it’s the start of something big. A few more senior Churchmen calling for the Consecration of Russia to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart and who knows, the desire for it may spread as fast as the desire for Covid-19 lockdown. God knows, we need Our Lady desperately now with the evil forces closing in on their NWO without any real opposition. I can’t remember exactly where I read it, but I recall Our Lady telling someone that just when they think they have the victory she will snatch it from their hands. Evil will never succeed!
Athanasius,
I fully agree, especially with your final words. Snatch the victory from evil hands, she will definitely do. I’m praying it will be very soon.
I watched Nicola Sturgeon’s address at lunchtime today, when she was setting out her “route map” or plan to ease the lockdown. Many times she referred to helping us to get ready for “the new normal”.
I want to know what that means – I keep hearing it, but it’s never explained.
The sermon I just posted from Rorate Caeli is a priest who is clearly saying “no” to the new normal of virtual Masses. I think we all need to find out what is meant by the new normal in other ways and say a firm “no” to that as well, if it means continuing restrictions on our freedom of movement etc.
Margaret Mary,
I suspect the “new normal” plans are vague on purpose. It gives the totalitarians plenty of wiggle room to advance their evil agenda, which will no doubt not be revealed even to useful idiots like Sturgeon, except in dribs and drabs.
But you can pretty well bet that the first drib and drab includes required wearing of masks, “social distancing,” contact tracing, temperature checks, and vaccines. All bowing down before the WHO science god…whose director, btw, is a former member of a violent Ethiopian Communist group:
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/04/10/5-shocking-facts-about-who-chief-tedros-adhanom-ghebreyesus/#
(This shouldn’t be a surprise, since the NWO always staffs its bureaucratic machines with fellow Communists).
Margaret Mary
I agree with RCAVictor that the term “New Normal” is a loose term, but it’s not a vague term. I think the servants of the NWO have a good outline of what they want to achieve, it has, after all, been in the planning for many decades. One thing we know for certain is that whatever detail it involves, the outcome will be suppression of rights and oppression of peoples. That’s what Communism and its evil twin Freemasonry work towards, the eradication of God and the enslavement of nations. It will fail!
Athanasius,
I think there are one or more Catholic prophecies (if I remember from Yves Dupont’s book) that state that the evil cabal/Freemasons/Communists/Luciferians etc. will not be given enough time to complete their plans. Considering how advanced their plans are at the moment, I hope their time is about to run out!
A Happy Feast Day to all!
RCAVictor
I, too, hope their time is running out but my instinct is that the change will only come when the present Pontificate comes to an end. Pope Francis, God have mercy on him, is without doubt the most destructive Pope in Church history, a man with a Communist world view who has empowered the enemies of God and the Church to take their boldest step to date, an attempt, through the fake pandemic, to establish Lucifer’s New World Order. Sadly, almost all of the hierarchy have gone along with the sell out and will undoubtedly face the most horrendous judgment for their betrayal in the next life. In the meantime, we can only keep praying that Our Lady’s triumph is now much closer given the near proximity of the Luciferian threat. We know for absolute certain that Lucifer and his servants will fail. How their downfall will come about I have no idea, but it’s not far off now. Happier times to come, I think!
A reader in England emailed to ask me to post this link
https://remnantnewspaper.com/web/index.php/headline-news-around-the-world/item/4900-minnesota-bishops-defy-governor-reestablish-public-mass
I’m guessing that she hopes our bishops will follow suit – I refained from offering my opinion!
I don’t think there is any sign of any UK bishops breaking ranks. If only. Good on those American bishops, though. They are setting a great example.
Having read the Remnant Newspaper article I am delighted that the Minnesota Bishops are defying the Governor of the State in re-establishing Public Masses. And, like Lily I agree that there seems to be no sign of any UK bishops following their American counterparts.
I wonder, if and when this lockdown is “discontinued” or at least “eased”, how fast will Catholics return to Catholic Churches for Mass and the Sacraments. Especially if they have gotten used to Streamlined Masses.
https://fatima.org/news-views/our-lords-ascension-and-the-fatima-message/
In the above article about the connection between Our Lord’s Ascension and the Fatima message, mentions that many Prelates are no longer teaching the Dogmas of Faith. Hell and Purgatory readily denied. Is Mass no longer considered “essential” for our spiritual life?
If ever we need the Pope and Bishops to Consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary – it is long overdue. Let us pray and hope that Cardinal Burke will be the beginning of the groundswell encouraging other Bishops to join him to twist the arm of Pope Francis, whether he likes it or not.
I have just logged a petition to the Scottish Government at Change.org, if anyone would care to sign it. Here’s the link, I think!
https://www.change.org/p/scottish-government-government-suppression-of-civil-liberties-must-end
Signed and sent it to family members.
I’ll also include it in my introduction to the next thread – watch this (or rather, that) space!
Brillant, thanks. I’ve posted it on Facebook and Twitter, so we’ll see if that draws a few signatures, or rather a few hundred thousand of them! We can always dream, even in a daft world.
But there must be something wrong with the way they are counting the votes – when I signed in to vote, it said 2 had already signed and on checking just now, it still says only 2. It should be at least 3 if my vote is counted, and I’m sure there will be more.
I have signed in to vote too, when I did it also said 2 had already signed in – it now says 3.
The new post is up there now – I had planned to wait until later but what the heck. If there’s going to be a new normal anyway, a gal surely has the right to change her mind! Here’s the link, only a few seconds old!
https://catholictruthblog.com/2020/05/21/tell-nicola-sturgeon-that-we-want-our-freedom-back-now-sign-petition/
I have been a bit busy on this great Feast Day.
Mind you I managed to get a good bit of vital anti Wuhan Flu vitamin D here on the balmy east coast of Scotland – it got up to 70 degrees in old money.
We did get a great Mass celebration on the old Cathode Ray Tube this morning Deo Gratis.
I was wondering if the wee woman said anything about opening churches in her rambling speech today in Edinburgh?
Perhaps someone on here had more patience than I to listen to her.
Thank you.
Patrick, if you visit the new thread, you can see a clip of the “wee woman” NOT mentioning churches…
https://catholictruthblog.com/2020/05/21/tell-nicola-sturgeon-that-we-want-our-freedom-back-now-sign-petition/
And don’t forget to sign the petition. Your country needs YOU!
Well, if Bill Gates gets his way with a compulsory vaccination program (a vaccine that seems to be ready as far back as 2005 see horror video below) all churches will be closed permanently, as the vaccine will eliminate such behaviour as celebrating Ascension Thursday. Bill Gates may class the action of attending Mass as ‘religious fundamentalism,’ or ‘religious fanaticism.’
Before this leaked Bill Gates video link is censored (see link below) please send this to as many people as possible. They might finally wake up as to what is happening!

It is good that Christ has not remained here on earth in visible form. It is better that He is ascended into heaven and instead remains with us under a veil, the Holy Eucharist. If Christ were visible to us, we would behold Him in all His glory. But when we kneel before Him in the tabernacle we kneel before Him on His cross on Calvary. Therefore to see Christ in the Holy Eucharist is even greater than to see Christ in visible form!
It’s just so sad that very few UK churches ring the angelus or even have bells.
Personally I only know of two.
I think everyone here, including lurkers, should commit to doing something much more powerful than signing petitions and blogging (both of which I’ve done and continue to do), namely, storm Heaven daily with the Chaplet of Sister Marie of St. Peter (scroll down about 2/3 to the Chaplet, which you don’t need to say the prayers):
https://theholyface.com/prayers-of-the-holy-face/
Several years ago, Human Life International in Ireland sent me their booklet on the Holy Face devotions, and here is what their introduction to the Chaplet says:
“The following Chaplet of Reparation contains prayers composed by Sister Marie of St. Peter after Jesus asked her to battle in prayer against the ‘enemies of God,’ especially Communists.”
And we can rest assured that this scam-demic is the work of Communists, aka globalists, aka Freemasons, aka all the useful idiots on their seemingly inexhaustible fractional reserve banking payroll. But that payroll means nothing to Heaven…
RCA Victor,
I think we are regularly reminded on this blog that prayer and sacrifice come at the top of the list – it’s at the heart of the Fatima message.
It’s good for everyone to have their own private devotions, but for me, nothing is as important as the Rosary, because Our Lady told us via Sr Lucia, that the Rosary has been given a particular efficacy for our times. And no prizes for guessing why, LOL!
One of my friends has been using lockdown to say the entire 15 decades every day for the state of the world and the Church, and especially for the Consecration of Russia.
RCA Victor,
I once had a friend, a Carmelite Sister, whose name included “Holy Face” (in the days before they returned to using their baptismal names – something like Sr Mary of the Holy Face…)
That’s a very nice website so thank you for postng the link. And the prayer is beautiful – I note the litany, too, all very devotional and it is bound to be pleasing to God and thus efficacious.
You are totally correct in that we need to do much more than sign petitions and blog – I always take that as a given, since I don’t feel equipped to offer spiritual lectures. Can you imagine if I added that to my job description! My inbox would be fizzing even more than it is at the moment! And believe me, it’s fizzing at the moment 😀
So, thank you for that very timely reminder of our duty to put on spiritual armour to fight the principalities and powers attacking the Faith and just about everything we value as God-given, in the world today.
Editor and Laura,
I posted that because we had a powerful sermon about it last night, so I wanted to share it.
Meanwhile, Ed, I think you should stop dropping Alka-Seltzer tablets into your inbox. That would clear up the fizzing immediately, if not sooner….
