Scotland’s Covid-19 Up-to-Date Figures Suggest Lockdown Should End – Now!…

From Scottish Government Website Daily Update For Coronavirus…   Scottish numbers: 1 June 2020

Of the people who have tested positive:

3,695 inpatients have been discharged from hospital since 5 March

735 were in hospital last night:

20 of whom were in intensive care, with another 7 with suspected COVID-19 in intensive care

2,363 have died   Source

Scotland’s population is approximately 5.4 million so, lamentable as are the above recorded deaths from Covid-19, we’re hardly looking at a deadly plague. Yet, the application of the severe lockdown restrictions, with all the consequences to come, are set to continue in some form, with the First Minister threatening a return to the strict regime if the newly introduced  relaxation leads to, well, the population being relaxed and returning to “normal” everyday life.  People continue to monitor neighbours (I heard a horror story of someone I know myself and regarded as a friend snitching on people she thinks are not keeping to the rules – because she’s terrified of catching the virus) and there are plenty of people calling for the restrictions to continue because they fear a second wave or just don’t want to return to work. Whatever.

What’s going on?  Don’t the above figures show, really, no cause for concern?  Should we be returning to normal life – not the “new normal”, the real normal – immediately, if not sooner?

Why are not the church authorities, the Scottish Bishops and priests pastorally responsible for providing traditional Masses, not insisting that the churches re-open, as has happened in other parts of the world. Or are they to be counted among those who simply don’t want to return to work?   The above figures speak for themselves.  So, what, I repeat, is going on?

There’s a protest march in support of George Floyd (RIP) organised in Glasgow for Sunday, and there’s a “take the knee” for George tonight (same as the clap for carers idea.)

But just as I was wondering why is this necessary, all right-thinking people are appalled at the death of George Floyd and want the police responsible to be taken the whole way, legally, locked up for life, meaning life, I came across this article:

I don’t think it’s off topic, Editor, and hope you agree, because I think that the protest planned in Glasgow for Sunday will maybe not end well, because there will be troublemakers turning up at it, possibly, who will use it to send a message to the Scottish Government about lockdown, people are getting very frustrated with the restrictions.

The first thing you have to grasp is that these orchestrated demonstrations have nothing whatever to do with the murder of George Floyd, they are merely an excuse for anarchy, especially in America where they hope to do further harm to the Trump Presidency. The policeman who killed George Floyd has been charged with his murder, the law has therefore done its job, and yet everywhere the violence increases. These are Communist agitators engaging in urban warfare to harm our societies. They are doubtless funded and planned by external foreign agencies. You won’t catch any of these Anarchists of feigned outrage protesting abortion, by far a worse crime happening daily by the tens of thousands in every corner of our so-called “civilised world”.

Athanasius has nailed the true nature of the “protests,” but to answer your question, no, it isn’t “necessary.” It’s merely the socialists in your country (of which there seems to be quite a few) deploying one of their favorite axioms:

“Never let a crisis go to waste.”

as RCAVictor will no doubt verify, all the out of control anarchists, seem to occur in Demoncrat controlled States and cities.
Perhaps a better word than ‘occur’ would be condoned in an attempt to remove the President.

As far as I know there will be protests in Glasgow this Sunday. So if this is pre-planned and it looks like it’s allowed, why can’t we (1) go to Mass and (2) have a public rosary in George Square?

I’m sorry to say that the answer appears to be, because the clergy are enjoying their extended holiday.

    John Rayner,

If I were you I would sign a fake name (and fake address and phone #, if that is also required).

This report published this morning, suggests more than a little dishonesty in the Scottish Government – and not just about the data for the virus…

    Dear Editor
I know how you like a good laugh – and don’t need one now – but I saw a comment about our dear leader Saint Nicola today which made chuckle.
This guy said that the halo above her head was a reflection from her brass neck.

Don’t we NEED one just now.

This is why President Trump has finally decided to classify these thugs as a terrorist organization. Another video I watched this morning reported cases of counterfeit US dollars caught by US Customs at the Minneapolis airport just before the riots began. The counterfeit money was from China…

Oh, and another video report was about pallets of bricks being dropped off at various locations before the rioting started. Well-planned, well-funded, nothing to do with the murder of George Floyd, a lot to do with destroying America.
