The lawyer in the above video won, impressively, when he represented priests and rabbis in court, challenging the lockdown rules in New York which militated against places of worship…
As for Scotland – do we have any lawyers who are concerned at the way our personal and religious liberty is being eroded? As we face the continual introduction of fresh rules and regulations, with a further lockdown always hanging over our heads, do we have any legal recourse to challenge the removal of our personal freedom? Should we simply accept the fact that we cannot invite people into our home or visit the homes of our relatives and friends? Should the Government really be able to issue such orders? Restrict the number of people who may gather for a chat?
And what about our religious liberty… In the event of another full-blown lockdown, with a repeated ban on attending church, do we have any clergy who might pursue a case to challenge the State’s interference in Church matters?
The New York case, as Chris Ferrara points out, was not brought by diocesan clergy/bishops, but by traditional priests, so that means, in Scotland, that either the priests of the Society of St Peter (FSSP) or the priests of the Society of St Pius X (FSSPX) are in the frame. There are not a lot of them, to be fair, so it seems unlikely that either of those groups will be plaintiffs in court any time soon. And, of course, as we know, the diocesan bishops are very keen to keep the churches under the thumb of the Government. So, they’re never going to institute a legal challenge. In any case, is it desirable? Or should we all just accept our lot, and offer up the injustice? Share your thoughts…

That was prophetic all right. I’ve always loved the talks given by Archbishop Fulton Sheen. It was a disappointment when he went along with the Vatican II “reforms”. I’m amazed now that he couldn’t see through them.
To answer the topic questions, I definitely think it’s desirable to hold the politicians to account in court, if only we had the funds and an experienced legal team to do that, and I definitely don’t think we should just accept these restrictions as our “lot”. They are tyrannical rules, forced upon us. I can’t believe how few people in the population can see that.
I’m finding myself feeling more and more helpless about this. Nicola Sturgeon is talked about as if she’s a hero, a strong leader. I disagree, she’s coming across as loving this, forcing us to be isolated because that’s what this is all about, this latest rule, don’t have people in our houses and don’t go to theirs. It’s totally bizarre that the majority are going along with this.

Yes, that’s probably the keystone of the current phase of this scam: a positive “test,” which results in 80-100% false positives, using a PCR test that was not intended to identify any disease, and which allegedly claims that a person without symptoms is sick (“asymptomatic”).
Ever hear of a flu without symptoms? That’s because there’s no such thing. Neither is there any such thing as a “case” with no symptoms.

I remember Cuomo – he was the one dancing with delight when they passed a law allowing abortion up to birth! A supposed Catholic, too! So, that was a fantastic victory.
As for anyone here likely to go to court over the infringement of our liberties. No way. I can’t see any priests, lawyers or lay people who care enough, frankly. They all think it’s a real health scare and we need to “stay safe” – it’s even written all along the motorway! People have lost all sense of perspective. It’s madness.

To answer the last question in the introductory thread first: No, we are not permitted to just accept our lot and offer up the injustice. We are only encouraged to offer up injustices that are personal and do not impact on our supernatural life or the life of the nation. Where injustice affects either of the latter then we are not only permitted to resist vigorously, we are obliged to do so in accordance with our Confirmation duty.
Hence all priests of the FSSP or SSPX in the UK who fail to take a very public stance agianst the present impositions of government (not to mention the Catholic hierarchy), especially in relation to the unlawful impeding of the primary supernatural mission of the Church, contradict Church teaching and fail catastrophically in their priestly duty. There are various ways these institutions could finance a court action, the main ones being Crowdfunding and Justicefunding online. I still maintain that the closure of our churches for 4 months was a clerical scandal, highlighted as such by the legal action of those faithful and zealous SSPX priests in New York.
Concerning Dr. Fauci, I think the article linked by RCAVictor says everything that needs saying about this man. I will never quite understand why President Trump made him the primary voice of his government in regard to this virus, given his obvious left wing agenda. At any rate, Fauci, like Ferguson in the UK, has been shown to be little more than a medical quack, though a very damaging one. I hope one day to see him and Ferguson brought to justice for misleading the nations on Covid-19.
Regarding this “R number” they keep talking about in relation to infection spread, the only significance this has for people’s lives is the explosion of (R)edundancies that will soon follow on the back of our destroyed economies.
RCAVictor is absolutely right, there is no such thing as a sick “asymptomatic” person, it’s just another fabrication to back the power grab of governments. And the so-called testing for the virus is so absolutely insulting to the intellect that it hardly bears commenting on. There is no Covid-19 test, only a general test that picks up antibodies from all manner of respiratory infections suffered by people both past and present. No wonder the numbers are going up, with all those false positives.
Simple bottom line: The world is presently subject to one of the worst crimes ever perpetrated against humanity, the removal of all civil liberties under the pretext of a plague that doesn’t exist. The first fatality of Covid-19 was democracy, replaced now by a Communist totalitarianism that is here to stay by popular consent. The majority simply refuses to acknowledge what is going on right under their noses. In fact they are so blinded by fear that they cannot even grasp the basic concept that this virus, largely harmless as it is, can never be fully eradicated from the world.
Just a reminder here that the greater majority of deaths associated with Covid-19 have been frail elderly people decanted from hospitals back to locked down care homes by government command. As per the official stats and declarations, Covid-19 poses no risk to the health of the general population, hence it matters very little how widespread infections become. This “R number” garbage was never about saving lives in the UK, it was about saving a crumbling, outdated and utterly unfit for purpose NHS at any and all costs.

I’m not sure if Fr. Altier is an exorcist, but he has a long history of fighting lies and the leftist agenda. He got in trouble with his bishop about 15 years ago for exposing the truth about the “Safe Environment” scam, i.e. the US Bishops’ response to the first wave of sex abuse scandals. Turns out that program, called “Virtus” was in part developed with the input of an organization called “Coyote,” which promoted legal prostitution! Once again, truth is stranger than fiction.
Oh, almost forgot: the Bishops’ response, through the above program, made sure that everyone except themselves and their priests were screened about sexual abuse!

I can’t believe how people are going along with it and all they talk about is obeying the restrictions without questioning them at all.
I agree with you that we can’t, as Catholics, just decide to offer up the injustice, that would be wrong for the reasons you give. If we accept the ending of our liberty, then we accept that the state can control our religious beliefs and practice as well. That just cannot be right.
I’d love to see a court action against the government but I don’t see it happening. Everybody, including the courts, are in the pockets of corrupt politicians. I’d like to be wrong.

I hadn’t heard about the R number, so just looked it up. Its definition is so completely vague as to be meaningless, not to mention the fact that it is based on phony testing. But apparently not meaningless enough to be effective in promoting more fear. Apparently, if you put on a white lab coat, you can say just about anything and call it science.
Those of us who are awake need to start using the “L” number: i.e. the number of lies we are being fed.
I’m getting to the point where I’m tempted to ask people who avoid me on the sidewalk – even moving into the street to get around me – “What are you afraid of?”

I’m glad the author mentions cultural Marxism, which lies at the heart of these massive societal changes we have been witnessing. Sadly, unless a majority of people waken up to what’s going on there is little hope of a return to anything like normal living any time soon. Too many people have been programmed for too long, a tragic consquence of them having abandoned God and His eternal laws. There have been no end of threads discussing vaccines and other associated matters. This is the first thread devoted to legal action, so I’d be interested to know how you would answer the questions in the blog introduction.
The overall issue in this entire fiasco, it seems to me, is actually about tyranny and the removal of our freedoms. Everything else is only of interest insofar as it relates to the advent of tyrannical government in the UK. Or, so it seems to me.

I think that probably finance is the reason that the SSPX / FSSP in the constituent parts of the UK have not sought to combat restrictions via legal battles. I think these groups have a comparatively small presence in the UK, compared to (say) the SSPX heartlands of France and the USA.
The great victory the SSPX & Christopher Ferrara won in New York could well have been repeated here. There is the same disparity between the heavy restrictions placed on worship, versus the allowance of any and all manner of protests.
Even so, I think the SSPX in the UK looks very good in comparison to the weedy, compliant dioceses, who believe that allowing Godless politicians to dictate to them means they are “relevant”.
This is why I’d love to find someone, anyone, who could form a legal team to challenge the State here in the UK. Nottinghamshire Police have just handed a £10,000 fine to a young man for the crime of hosting a party ahead of the 6 persons rule which comes into force on Monday. This is a disgrace.

The chances of any legal action to reverse it being successful are zero.
I compare the success of the propaganda in scaring the population into subservience over this Chinese Flu, to the success of the global warming scam.
Yesterday whilst I shared a wee beverage and some food with two friends in our local club, we were served by a lovely young lady who we all knew.
She is a university student waitrissing part time.
She was wearing the dreaded dog muzzle and complaining about being too hot and feeling a bit light headed.
I asked her what she knew about carbon dioxide. She replied she learned it caused “climate change” and should be reduced/eliminated.
I explained to her that every time she breathed out she was expelling up to 80% CO2 which she was then breathing in due to her mask.
It was obvious that this poor child has been so indoctrinated that she would not be convinced by the logic of my (or any) scientific facts contrary to the ‘religion’.
This was borne out by the results of u gov survey last week where up to 80% of those surveyed said they agreed with Boris who is thinking of introducing curfews to “defeat” the second wave which will be here ant minnit’ now.

I smiled at your concluding sentence because I have just arrived home from making the video and was wishing, as I read your comment, that I’d read it before we finished the video! It’s a tremendous example of the ignorance around us.
It’s no blockbuster though (the video, I mean, not your example!) took three attempts to get it done, because I kept making daft mistakes – at one hilarious moment I took a coughing fit which the video master said didn’t really fit the narrative of “this virus is nothing to worry about”! 😀
Anyway by the time we got finished with the third attempt, I was whacked so I hope I don’t look half asleep – which is how I felt by the time we’d finished #3 “take”!
Hopefully, we’ll get the technicalities finished and have it online tomorrow evening.
