Scotland’s First Minister: Mask Rule For Thee, But Not For Me! Police Agree…
From Police Scotland…
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We’re aware of a photograph of the First Minister which appeared in The Sun, on 23 December, in which she was not wearing a face mask at a wake. The First Minister has acknowledged this inadvertent breach, for which she has apologised.
“We remind everyone of the requirement to wear face coverings in indoor public places for public health reasons. Police Scotland will not be taking any further action in relation to this matter.” Daily Record…
Comment:
A friend was telling me about conversations she’s had with more than one member of the public recently, casual conversations in shops, mostly, where she’s been amazed to learn that the person(s) hated wearing the mask, didn’t actually need to because they were exempt, but were afraid that people would tell them off if they didn’t wear one – afraid, too of someone reporting them to the police. Now they can rest assured that there will be no police action as long as they apologise. Yeah right.
On The Telegraph YouTube channel, there were sympathisers, with the point being made that plenty of other people do this (not wear a mask) so what’s the difference if Nicola Sturgeon does it? Here’s one printable reply… “The difference is, she makes the rules and fines normal people for not following them. People like you are the reason they’re getting away with the [bleep!] they’re feeding us.
Well, do you agree? Or were the police correct not to impose a fine for this “inadvertent breach for which she has apologised”... ?

I Personally think that Janet Macranky AKA We Nippy should be wearing a Mask constantly as lets face it Shes Not lets just say very Pretty .In fact even with Her own personal maker upper it doesn’t do much for Her looks .Am sure she used to have part time work around Halloween scaring the Kids .But boy am I glad that this Wee Megalomaniac has herself now fell into the You Know What and She has to go . Her Doctor Friend told none of us to travel ( except Her ) as we all know and Her position was unattainable so Janet Macranky must go She has to . But not to worry am sure that shes fixed up a really good pension for Herself and Will Not as has been rumoured be selling Copies of The Big Issue outside that Horrible Scottish Parliament . Its Christmas time and I wish Her The Best of Wishes in finding a New Job .
FOOF,
She will not be going anywhere. She doesn’t have to worry about “staying safe” as we now know for sure… She IS safe… She’s in with the in-crowd.
Is there any need for the uncharitable name calling and comments? As for not travelling, as far as I am aware, she went to funeral in the same city as her office which is hardly the same as traveling hundreds of miles, which is what the medical officer meant.
I have a close friend whose husband died during the first lockdown, and she wasn’t allowed to attend his funeral. So, if you’re looking for sympathy for Sturgeon here, I doubt if you’ll find any.
About your question, is there any need for uncharitable name calling – yes, I think there is. We have nobody representing us, it’s a waste of time to write to MSPs or MPs – they’re all quite happy, on full pay throughout this whole nonsense. This is one of the few – I think it’s the only – outlet where we can speak out minds and one person’s “uncharitable comment” is another person’s “truly charitable comment” because saying nice things or phrasing criticism nicely isn’t always the right thing to do. Sturgeon needs to get the message that she’s only popular with her brainwashed fans, not with the rest of us.
Josephine,
I’m sorry that you think that name calling like “Janet Macranky AKA We Nippy” and nasty remarks like “lets face it Shes Not lets just say very Pretty .In fact even with Her own personal maker upper it doesn’t do much for Her looks .Am sure she used to have part time work around Halloween scaring the Kids.” are acceptable. Even if one doesn’t agree with another person, resorting to personal insults is nasty, childish and unchristian and has no place in a Catholic blog.
LittleCharlie
Don’t be sorry, it’s because we live in such a strange world, where you can abort babies and kill off the elderly, but you can’t say an improper word, that you are so shocked. It’s called being PC.
I’m interested that you are an expert on what has “no place in a Catholic blog” – correct me if I’m wrong, I know you will, but I don’t remember you making any serious comments on this blog, just telling us off now and then. There’s been no shortage of trolls doing that. If I was the editor they’d be gone in a jiffy but she’s too soft IMHO (sorry, Ed.)
So what if a blogger has been a bit OTT about Nicola Sturgeon’s looks – she won’t care. She’s lining her pockets and enjoying being a dictator. When it does bother her, she’ll shut down the internet, so don’t worry about any of this – she’s a dictator and whether or not someone insults her looks – which I agree is best not done – doesn’t change the fact that she’s a dictator who doesn’t care about you or me.
The fact that you are focusing on such trivia and not bothering about the “big picture” (her dictatorship) speaks for itself.
Josephine
Very good points made by you. Too many people these days straining on gnats while swallowing camels. You can always spot the people who come on here with no intention of making any meaningful contribution, just noise everyone else up. So what if the comments about Nicola Sturgeon’s looks are a bit OTT, it’s nothing in comparison with the pain and sorrow the wee dictator has visited upon the people of Scotland and not remotely close to the insults she has publicly offered to Almighty God.
Josephine,
I don’t know where you get the impression that I only post to “tell us off” as to the best of my knowledge, this is the only time I have criticised anyone. I just believe that there is no reason to descend to uncharitable remarks.
LittleCharie,
I was taught by my mother, as a young thing, that it was not right for adults to correct one other. I’d leave it, if I was you. To each his own, as the saying goes. If you think speaking in a particular way is uncharitable, don’t do it, but the minute you criticise the person making the remarks you think are uncharitable, then you become the uncharitable one, LOL! It’s one of those no-win situations!
There were times believe it or not Charlie that one could actually make jokes about society people IE BBC and SKY Broadcasters and also Sportsmen in the Public Eye . Personally if I were getting Wages of £200.000 a week I would stay behind and let the crowd Boo me all they want .In fact one Footballer who is on £300.000 a week, Plus win bonuses who plays with one of the Top English clubs has come out crying saying that he more or less is persecuted .Then of course you have the other ones who sit behind a Driving Wheel who moan about the discrimination they received in our Society. A Society BTW that has made them so Rich that am sure if they Had actually to count their weekly wage even with £100 notes they wouldn’t be able to in a 24 Hour Day 7 Days a Week timescale .The only acceptable Obscene Jokes are against Catholics IE us ,and of course worse and more Obscene Jokes against Good Catholic Priests .As for myself if i had £1 for every time i was called a Fenian Quickly Followed By Bstard i would be a very wealthy Man indeed .Of course one has also to remember the Obscene and total Gestures against not only President Trump but also against his Family .So look first to the Log in your own Eye before you look at the Speck in mine . Happy New Year .
Your post exhibits the same kind of irrational thinking and double standards as those who enforce the medical dictatorship we are now all living under. So it’s OK to travel without a mask, as long as you’re traveling within the same city? When exactly does it become not OK? As soon as you cross the city line? 15 km past the city limits? 100 km? Ridiculous. Stop grasping at straws.
Yours is the same kind of so-called rationale as these unlawful edicts which proclaim that, due to the scam-demic, we can have 6 people in a room, but not 7. 25 people at Mass, but not 26! Oh my! The virus knows when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake! He knows if you’ve obeyed the Communists, so be a good little sheep, for goodness sake!
And as for “uncharitable name-calling,” Sturgeon’s actions are dictatorial and tyrannical. That makes her a dictator and a tyrant. That is not name-calling, it is a statement of fact. Learn the difference.
RCA Victor,
The critic has become confused and passed on her confusion to your good self. It’s not “OK” to not wear a mask if you “cross” city lines. The problem was that – in the total irrationality of the whole daft exercise – the maskers must keep on their masks in pubs etc unless they are seated at a table. Her Holyroodness had stood up from her table to go to the Ladies and stopped to speak to some non-Ladies-going ladies, if you get my drift. The virus knows when you’ve stood up, and knows when you’ve stopped to speak and so everyone is in mortal danger. I’m livid that Mzzzz Sturgeon forgot to put on her mask. I wasn’t in that pub, but that’s not to say that I won’t somehow cross the path of someone else who WAS in that pub – maybe one of those women with whom the First Minister stopped to chat. Shocked. That’s what I am. Shocked and terrified.
This extremely sensitive and very clever virus knows – as you so seasonally appropriately put it – it/he/she knows when you are sleeping, knows when you’re awake, knows when you are sitting, so put it on when you stand up for goodness sake… !
Second chorus… the virus knows when you’re in a pub, knows when you’re in your house, knows (as already sung) when you are sleeping, knows when you’re awake, so, be good for goodness sake OR… you’ll be fined, I’ll be fined, we’ll all be fined – except for…
Drum roll….
The people making the rules, for goodness sake!
I don’t think any of it rhymes but – well – it’s “happy holidays” time, as wee Nicola would probably say… 😀
Here’s a TV news report showing her actually breaking the rule and also broadcasting her “heartfelt” apology – as I keep saying, she should have been given an Emmy award for Best Television Actress a long time ago…
Well let’s see: this provides an opportunity for all the serfs who have been ordered to wear masks but who are caught not wearing them. All you have to do is apologize to the police state, and you’re off the hook!
NOT!
RCA Victor,
If I’m ever stopped by the police, that is exactly what I’ll be saying – “Sorry officer, but you know what it’s like, so easy to make a mistake, an inadvertent breach, you know what I mean, even the First Minister had one of those, so allow me to apologise… I was/am in the wrong. Sincerely sorry. Just like Mzzzzzzz Sturgeon. So, can we forget it now?”

Ed I posted on another thread the Hypocritical ruling of Masks .8 of us on the Bus ,4 wearing masks and 4 without .The 4 without maybe had exempt passes because of possible breathing problems .Of that I know not .What I do know is last week I forgot to put on my mask on entering the Bus .The Driver wasn’t for letting me on if I had no mask . I was talking to my Brother about this as he is an avid follower of the rules. He said but the exempt people are sticking to the Law .I nearly fell out with him as the Law on this Chinese Disease is an Ass . What am really saying is that Maybe just Maybe Wee Nippy now has a Mask exempt Certificate .
A golden opporchanceity, as some would say, for Police Scotland to show they mean business has been wasted.
Nicola will be glad to wear a mask to hide from Big Alex when he comes calling.
Frankier,
They mean business all right but only when dealing with the lower classes, the hoi polloi…Those in high places are allowed to go free (literally) just like in other dictatorships. The dictators do very well out of dictating… check out China; check out Russia; check out North Korea. Ever seen any of those dictators NOT smiling?
I cannot believe these politicians and their enablers.
The fine is £60 but if you pay it right away, it’s only £30. Why didn’t Sturgeon not just apologise but pay the fine? She’s hardly going to have a criminal conviction on her record, is she?
It’s the apologising without actually meaning it or really believing you’ve done anything wrong.
Personally, I don’t think anybody should be fined for not wearing a mask but if some people are being fined, then so should she and her likes. The headline is right – one rule for thee but not for me, is what’s going on here and it’s a disgrace.
I see the insincerity pouring out of that women. Just imagine if she was running an independent Scotland. Shudder! There’d be no holds barred – her dictatorial streak would be allowed to run amok.
Fidelis,
You are absolutely on the button there – what would it have cost her to add to her apology a promise to pay the fine? As you say, a mere £30. She’s shameless
I agree – she should have had to pay the fine. It’s a total disgrace that she’s got off scot-free with her supporters claiming it’s no big deal. It would be a big deal if any of the rest of us were caught disobeying these ridiculous restrictions, so how come it’s not a big deal for her? She’s the one making the rules, so the least she can do is keep them or cough up for the fine, same as we would have to do.
As I’ve just seen on another blog (comments under a news report about Sturgeon) this shows that the elite are not one bit worried about the spread of this virus. Exactly.
If I believed the baloney they are spouting about this, I’d be wearing the PPE, head to toe, face mask and shield, and anything else I could get my hands on…. but I don’t.
Neither did Neil Ferguson; neither did Dominic Cummings; neither did Catherine Calderwood; neither did Margaret Ferrier. And neither does Nicola Sturgeon.
Yes, I think this is a great point. It would appear to be an obvious clue that the dangers are not what the media represents them as – yet people still accept the narrative. How can people be brought round? Facts don’t seem to work.
My concern is it will take things getting worse in 2021 for people to become more aware of what is going on. It would be an *ideal* time for the Church to stand up for the truth, and to bring people to God, but I am not optimistic about this.
James,
The fact that people are still accepting the narrative both astounds me and makes me angry. Are they really that stupid? By the time they do wake up, it will be too late. Dictators don’t suddenly become benign. They tighten their grip. Sturgeon will tighten her grip, as will Boris and the rest. Among other things, there’s big money involved here, of that there is no question.
And in news just in… This will be next in Scotland – according to reports, Nicola Sturgeon is considering another full blown lockdown in January, so this is the sort of thing we’ll soon be seeing here, and across the UK – a prominent doctor fired for simply questioning the lockdown strategy.
https://www.wnd.com/2020/12/4879933/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=wnd-breaking&utm_campaign=breaking&utm_content=breaking&ats_es=42af19f218de4cce2341bc53904ddf78
I saw an American doctor interviewed on Newsmax a day or so ago, where they were discussing the “panic” in the UK over the “new strain”. That doctor said that new strains happen all the time, no big deal and that if anything this new strain is MILDER than the previous one.
As Dr Mike Yeadon said a while back – referring to the UK Government advisers – when interviewed on the Anna Brees channel they are lying to you
Without a shadow of a doubt.
Well Ed you have Half a Football Team there .So maybe they can get together and play 5 a side .They of course wouldn’t have to wear strips to be identified as the other 5 a side Team would all be wearing Masks .
This video sums up the ruling mentality at Holyrood – it’s closer to the truth than may first appear. Ignore the 30 second intro and then, if you’re not Scottish, grab your translation book and enjoy!
https://youtu.be/UpO3ve4MlHU
Athanasius,
I think most of our English and American bloggers will have got the “oven chips” at the end (so to speak)!
Editor
I fear that will be the only part they’ll understand!
As we say That’s A Cracker ,and its not nearer the Truth it is the Truth . Thanks for the Giggle .
Nothing Nicola Sturgeon does ever surprises me – I don’t believe that she will be keeping the rules at all – she’s just been caught this time.
I’ve been reading a very worrying article about the World Economic Forum plans for us to own nothing and be happy. At one point, the writer says: “Adolf Hitler was proud of saying, “Make the lie big. Keep it simple. Keep saying it and eventually, they will believe it.”
https://internationalman.com/articles/you-will-own-nothing-and-you-will-be-happy/
I see the stages listed in the article playing out right now – we are being led into totalitarianism, and I know this has been said on this blog loads of times, but it is becoming clearer all the time. I think we’re already trapped because so few are objecting.
Nobody in the political class is speaking up for us. Isn’t there anything we can do, aside from praying of course?
The terrifying thing is that Sturgeon is likely to be re-elected – and that is a real puzzle because she represents (or doesn’t!) a very poor, deprived area of Glasgow which has got poorer and more deprived since she became the MSP. I’m beginning to wonder if our elections are also rigged.
Nicky
It’s not a puzzle now that we see how the mail-in voting fraud got Biden in. That’s how she’s doing it – through postal voting. I wonder if anyone ever checks these ballots for authenticity? I doubt it. Personally speaking, I haven’t spoken to anyone who likes her or her party – people generally detest everything she stands for. Fake polls and fraudulent election counts, me thinks!
A very good point are they rigged. In my own part of the woods I would say no as many I knew voted for the dreaded SNP even members of my own Family. Am ashamed to say .There was also in my Area a good turnout of which most switched from Labour to SNP . Still that’s not to say it couldn’t have been rigged .
I think the less I say about Nicola Sturgeon’s dishonesty, the less I’ll have to say when I go to confession next time, LOL! “Mask rule for thee but not for me” is about right. Rank hypocrisy.
Dr Birx in the USA, the sidekick of Dr Anthony Fauci, has now retired after she was caught breaking the rules. It’s unbelievable the way these supposed experts don’t feel any bad conscious in breaking these rules, aside from their affected apologies. I don’t think Birx even gave a pretend apology, LOL! She was just indignant that at the backlash!
Fidelis,
Not only did she not apologise, she acted like a toddler in a tantrum: look what you did to my family!
Well, as others have pointed out, other families have to abide by the rules or get screamed at in supermarkets and public transport, stopped by the police to check if they are out of the area/district in which they live…
Tyranny. And it’s the likes of her to blame. No question about it.
I think the elitist mentality – hubris – can be explained as a manifestation of Lucifer, whom they serve. They live in a privileged world of delusion, inhabited only by people like themselves, an echo chamber of overweening pride and conceit.
As for us? Well, we’re just the hapless peasants who need to be told what to do, from cradle to grave.
But here’s a reminder for all you corrupt, power-hungry, money-hungry traitors: the Lord of the peasants, Who happens to be the Lord of Heaven and earth, was born in a cave, wrapped in rags, and placed in a feed-box used for animals. And when enough of us peasants remember to call upon His infinite power, your hollow power is finished.
RCA Victor,
Exactly right – the people imposing these ridiculous rules on the rest of us, know perfectly well they are unnecessary, so they don’t abide by them themselves and look down on the rest of us for questioning them. “Hapless peasants” as you say.
And Amen to your concluding paragraph. Amen
I think the whole thing has been blown out of all proportion. It was nothing more than a genuine mistake, one that I, and family and friends have also done. Just last week i was in a cafe and went to the toilet and forgot to put my mask on. It can happen to anyone. Even her political opponents haven’t said anything about it as they know it was a genuine mistake.
Well, I thought the whole thing was blown out of all proportion when Piers Corbyn was thrown in a police van and fined £10,000 for attending an anti-lockdown rally a few weeks ago. I also though it was blowing things out of all proportion when a family were thrown off of an American plane because their toddler refused to wear a mask, even though they had done their best. See the video in this report
https://nypost.com/2020/12/13/family-kicked-off-united-flight-after-toddler-refuses-to-wear-mask/
The mother is heard saying they can’t force her – definitely not in Nicola Sturgeon’s world were it is now against the law here to smack a child at all. Of course, since masks are so essential and the virus is so deadly, maybe the cops will waive that law as well, if Sturgeon tells them to.
It’s interesting that you say you and your family and friends are also guilty of “forgetting” to put your mask on – don’t you realise that if you actually truly believed this thing was deadly, and masks are helping to “save lives”, you just wouldn’t forget it, ever?
It’s because you know fine well and so does Sturgeon, that the whole thing is a scam that you are casual about keeping the rules.
Josephine,
Well said; that is an A+ answer – keep up the good work 😀
I forgot to say that, re your forgetting to put on your mask last week, if the cops had seen you do you think you’ve had been let off or would you have had to pay the fine?
Josephine,
That is THE question to which we would all like an answer. Not holding my breath though and suggest you don’t either – we both know the answer, truth be told…
Littlecharlie
She should be sacked and imprisoned for making people wear masks in the first place given that there never was a plague and there is NO peer-reviewed science that even remotely suggests that face coverings protect anyone from airborne viruses.
She’s like Boris and the rest of the world’s Socialist leaders – an evil dictator and destroyer. Their day is coming though when the truth about Covid-19 will come out and they will stand trial at the Hague for the greatest crime ever orchestrated and perpetrated on humanity.
Worse still, they will not escape the eternal justice of Almighty God for the global lies and misery they are responsible for. Nor indeed will the wilfully compliant hierarchy of the Church escape the divine wrath for their adulterous union with Communist totalitarianism, which is the same as turning from Our Lord to serve Satan.
Athanasius,
I’ve been wondering about when the big news is going to come after you posted a video from a man you were calling “Woof” (he kept saying that during his report, LOL!)
He was implying there was big new to come that would see Nicola Sturgeon off but there has been no hint of anything.
Can you clear that up? Have you heard anything more (I don’t even remember the man’s name of the title of the video or I would check it myself on YouTube).
Fidelis
Like you, I can’t remember the exact video link, though I remember WOOF! Someone passed that video link to me but I suspect he was jumping the gun a little on what he thought was coming next. You can Google this WOOF person, he has umpteen YouTube videos on the Scottish Parliament. He’s lost a bit of credibility with me, though.
Athanasius, Fidelis,
I think I know the video you mentioned: I believe it was when the Scottish Parliament voted to make the SNP release the legal advice they had received prior to the Alex Salmond court case.
Seemingly this was to contain evidence which would make Sturgeon’s position untenable and so force her resignation. I think it was claimed the documents would show that the legal advice said there was no chance of prosecuting Salmond, but the complainers went ahead anyway (and lost) at great cost to the taxpayer.
Of course the SNP had still not released the documents, even after a second vote by the Parliament. I am not sure of the current status, I believe the SNPP were dragging their feet and redacting the material.
Why has he lost credibility, Athanasius?
Crofterlady,
I think he’s lost credibility because he made out that there was some big news coming, that Nicola Sturgeon was in big trouble, and then out with a whimper – nothing happened.
