Sadly true – we can only pray that when the diabolical disorientation is overcome in the world and the Church, Ireland will be restored to its former Catholicity.

Happy Saint Patrick Day to all and probably like most on here it brings a little tear to the eye also .On this Day many of us ( I most certainly do ) cast our minds back to those days when we used to sing that Great Hymn with Gusto with our Ancestors in mind .Sorry if I seem a bit off key but it was always a little Emotional for me . As for the Lady of Knock it is a most Beautiful Hymn sang by a Lovely Person . Also the song to Monseigneur Horan who as you will know Ed laid the Foundations for Knock . I don’t remember his name but I remember that the priest who was at the forefront of promoting Knock was quite a character. He was interviewed on the bad old BBC and – to be fair – they gave him a fair chance to promote the shrine, laughing themselves at his enthusiasm.

Once you watch the video below, with Fr Sherry’s account of the histories of Ireland and Scotland – where Ireland was actually the first Scotland – you’ll realise that the Irish flag had to come first because the Scots would NEVER copy like that; we’re talented and original, so the Irish flag had to have been first… 😀

Here’s a speculative question for any historians or anthropologists on the blog: I wonder if there is something in the character of the Picts which made both the Reformation and socialism so attractive to them that they were widely embraced.
