Bishops Closing Churches & Building Mosques: Crazy…Or Diversity in Action?

Bishops Closing Churches & Building Mosques: Crazy…Or Diversity in Action?

Christianity exhorts its adherents to be charitable, but it is really charitable to affirm people in a belief system that tells them that hatred, contempt, and violence are blessed by the deity? The question is pertinent because recently in Nigeria and France, Catholic bishops have used the money donated by their own Catholic people to build mosques for Muslims. Charity, foolishness, or both? History will be the judge, but we can see right now a great deal of what is coming.

Gloria.tv reported Saturday that in France, “Tours Diocese donated money for the construction of a local mosque,” and that “Tours Bishop Vincent Jordy justified his donation on April 15 with the fact that for John Paul II’s 1996 visit to the city, the local Muslims made a symbolic donation which the diocese wanted to reciprocate. Riposte-Catholique.fr adds that in 2015, Auch Diocese – where John Paul II never visited – donated €5000 for a mosque.” Also, the amount of the Muslims’ “symbolic donation” was not reported, but it is not likely to have been enough to build a church, much less two churches.

Meanwhile, Bishop Stephen Mamza of the Catholic Diocese of Yola in Nigeria is building houses in Yola for people who have lost their homes due to jihad terror activity by the Islamic group Boko Haram, whose official name is People Committed to the Prophet’s Teachings for Proselytizing and Jihad. Since many of those displaced are Muslims whom Boko Haram didn’t think were Islamic enough, Bishop Mamza also built them a mosque.

In an interview in Nigeria’s Punch, Bishop Mamza explained that “at a certain stage we had over 3,000 people living on our church premises,” and “we thought of what we could do to improve their living standards.” Ultimately, with help from German backers, “we started last year in January the construction of 86 units of houses to be built for the 86 families still in our camp. On the housing estate, we built a church and a mosque and a school for the IDPs,” that is, Internally Displaced People.

Mamza maintained that building the mosque was a simple act of charity: “In the first place, when we played host to these IDPs, we did not discriminate against any one of them. We didn’t ask what religion the IDPs belong to; we didn’t ask for their church denomination; we just treated them as human beings who are in need of help, irrespective of their religion, denomination or tribe.” He explained that “if we were able to build houses for all of them, and also built a church for the Christians among them, then it is only a matter of justice and fairness that we also provide a space of worship for the few Muslims among them….I just felt that since we didn’t leave out the Muslims while providing food for the Christians or leave the Muslims out while building houses for the Christians, it is only just that we also build a mosque for the Muslims as we built a church for Christians.”

As good as this bishop’s intentions were, his gesture didn’t sit well with many Christians in a country where Islamic jihadis murdered a Catholic priest in March and burned a Catholic Church to the ground in February, and where jihadis killed 2200 Christians during 2020, an average of six every day. Would the mosque that Mamza built stop this jihad violence against Christians in Nigeria? Not likely. And so, Mamza recounted, “even from within, people did not see it as a good gesture, at all….Some of them even pointed out that the Boko Haram insurgents are Muslims and they have caused a lot of the havoc for us; they ask, ‘Why should we even go ahead and build a mosque for them?’ But I say, ‘Well, not all the Muslims are Boko Haram (members), not all of them (Muslims) are evil. Those that I know, that we have been living together and taking care of them for the past seven years, I know them to be good. So, there should be no reason why I should discriminate against them. I think that is the reason we built the mosque.’”

Of course that is true that not all Muslims are evil. It is odd, however, for a Christian entity to spend money on building a structure in which congregants will be taught that Jesus is not the Son of God and belief in the Trinity is “excess” (Qur’an 4:171, 19:35), and that Jesus was not crucified (Qur’an 4:157), and that those who believe in the divinity of Christ (that would include Bishop Mamza) are unbelievers (Qur’an 5:17), and that those who (like Bishop Mamza) believe that Jesus is God’s Son are accursed (Qur’an 9:30), and that Christians who do not accept Muhammad and the Qur’an must be fought against and subjugated under Islamic hegemony (Qur’an 9:29).

Also, a hadith has Muhammad predicting that Jesus will return at the end of the world and break the cross, as it is an insult to Allah’s power to say that he would have allowed one of his prophets to be crucified: “Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, ‘By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, son of Mary [Jesus] will shortly descend amongst you people [Muslims] as a just ruler and will break the Cross and kill the pig and abolish the Jizya [a tax taken from the non-Muslims, who are in the protection, of the Muslim government]. Then there will be abundance of money and nobody will accept charitable gifts.’” (Bukhari 3.34.425)

So the gestures of these two bishops may be dangerous: the jihadis who attack his own people could be incited in the mosque he built. Now that may not matter to Bishops Mamza and Jordy. They are Christian clerics, and Christians are taught to “love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return” (Luke 6:35). Very well. Still, in building a house where essential doctrines of Christianity will be denied, and the congregation will be exhorted to fight against Christians, subjugate them under Sharia, and make them pay the jizya (Qur’an 9:29), are they being loving to their Christian flocks? Does they have any obligation of charity to the Christians, or only to the Muslims? After all, it is their own people who may bear the consequences of what is taught in the mosques built with Church funds.

This mosque-building by Catholics is a mistaken idea of what constitutes charity, not surprising amid the general confusion of our age, in which being nice is routinely conflated with being charitable, when there are numerous instances in which they are not the same thing.

But for Catholics, what the Pope would say carries immense weight. Given Pope Francis’ actions since he became Bishop of Rome, Bishops Jordy and Mamza may be on the fast track to a Red Hat.  Click here to read above report at source…

Comment:

If they don’t need to build Catholic churches in France or Nigeria, their financial charity would be welcome elsewhere in the Catholic world. No question about it.  Speaking of questions…

RCA Victor emailed the above report, with the query: “Could it possibly get any crazier”?

Well, I was answering “no” to that question almost twenty years ago, so I’ll pass this time. Over to you!

Crazy, is the answer. Totally mad, like everything else these modernist bishops and priests are doing.

I’d stop giving to the collection in those dioceses. They’ve obviously got much more money than they need to live.

      Lily,

Excellent point about the collection money. They’d get my next donation twenty years after Hell freezes over. That is, the day after I take the Covid vaccine!

      Lily,

I would definitely stop giving money to those dioceses. They are sinfully wasting money given in good faith for the upkeep of the churches and clergy. That’s beyond dispute.

        Laura,

A very good point indeed – what these bishops are doing is sinful on so many levels and abusing the generosity of the lay donors is one of them. As you say, “beyond dispute”.

If you give them the Benefit of The Doubt ED, maybe the Good Bishops are using the Old Don Corleone Trick.– Keep your Friends Close But Your Enemies Closer Still.–Or maybe it could just be that their Following The Godfather Himself in His Saying, that were all Jock Tampsons Bairns. Well i dont know the Italian or Spanish for Jock Tampson or Bairns but am sure you get the Gist of what am getting at. To be Honest it would actually make you want to throw the Towel in. Also maybe again, to give these Bishops the Benefit of the doubt. They certainly have never heard of the Pakistani Moslem Hoards who want Catholics Burned alive who Dare to drink from the same Water Well as Moslems. As for being Charitable towards them . Sorry but they have been coming Here to where i live for as long as i can remember and i know of no one who can even speak a Good Word about them. I of course know that Our Lord said ” Love your enemies,do good for those who Hate You “. What he didnt say was Join them and Build Houses of Worship for them against ME. As for the Red Hat quip am sure that one of these is a Future Pope. Thanks for the Information Victor and God Help those Persecuted and Murdered by Moslem Hoards .

      FOOF,

There is no doubt for them to be given the benefit of, if you can makes sense of my dreadful grammar there!

You are, of course, absolutely correct – Our Lord did NOT condone such scandal as His bishops promoting a non-Christian religion to the point where they are building places of worship for them! Honestly, you couldn’t make this stuff up.

Wake me when it’s all over – can’t be long now, surely…

NEXT MORNING… Seems I’m not the only one intending to sleep this one out! Surprised at the lack of interest in this bombshell news. Things are even worse than I thought – twenty years ago 😀

        Editor,

        Sorry, I take lazy spells!

I am appalled at this news, as any Christian must be, but are we really shocked any more, it seems that anything goes these days.

In Glasgow, we’ve already had some Catholic schools being overtaken by Muslims and they are Muslim schools in all but name. The bishops welcome that!

Somehow, until God acts – as I believe He will – I don’t think anything will change for the better now.

        Josephine,

I wasn’t getting at you! Or anyone else, for that matter. You’re entitled to any number of “lazy spells”! I was just a little surprised that such an unusual (I thought) topic was taking its time getting off the ground, but no big deal…

Yes, I well remember the newspaper reports about Catholic schools in Glasgow being overtaken by Muslims, as you say. I think St Albert’s in the south side was one.

But who can blame them? If the Catholics are not providing sufficient children to keep the school open and the Muslims are doing precisely that, they can’t be blamed for the fact that theirs is the majority population in the school. It’s a wonder they don’t object to the “trimmings” of Catholicism remaining (assuming there ae still crucifixes, statues etc.)

Agh ED I think we’d all like to do a Rip Van Winkle in this Supposedly Christian Western Society but Imagine Waking up 20 Years from now. By your post it takes me back . I was on holiday,Approximately 25 Years ago where I was Shocked to see 2 Men ,Homosexuals Obviously walking Hand in Hand down a street ,past where we were eating outside in Ibiza. Fast forward to now and not only in Ibiza but we would be Shocked to see a Man and Woman walk hand in hand down the street. Remember that song by Bob Dylan ( I think) The Times They Are A Changing. God Help Our Children 20 Years from now. Of course that’s saying that some Old Dodering Clown doesn’t Push The Wrong Button.

I’m not sure I wanted to know this about the Church funding Islam. But is it really surprising given the state of the Church in France following the obvious sign of the burning of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris? It’s clear that Muslims no matter how well they appear to live are not followers of Christ, who tells us that anyone who is not with Christ is against him. I should expect a bishop to understand this! Encouraging the denial of the Son is a grave offense against God and a sin against the Holy Spirit.

This is a long ways away from the Tours, France, where in 732 Charles the Hammer Martel defeated the Muslim invasion of Europe.

As far as what is coming but what is already here, a couple years ago I attended university in the U.S. at a supposedly public institution and what do I find one day tucked away in a stairway but a Muslim prayer mat. Regarding the safety of having obstructions in the emergency exits (for everyday use of course there are brand new elevators that I preferred not to use) this instiution also goes out of its way to fund a Mosque on the edge of campus and to fund a special university dining hall for Muslim and Jewish students for their dietary restrictions. Concerning the unclean things one has to wonder if the custodians at this building were instructed not to sweep up the dust around the Islamic prayer mat, not for fear they might slip on it and fall, but to avoid offending the offenders of the true God.

      Victor,

I can’t agree with your opening words – although I sometimes take the defeatist, “I’m fed up with this” line, I do want to know as much as possible about what is going on because it’s the Devil at work and you know the saying about keeping your enemies closer than your friends!

Regards your final paragraph – that is very typical. The Catholic authorities at any institution, will go to endless trouble to cater for non-Catholics and non-Christians but ask for a traditional Latin Mass, and the venom comes out. It really is diabolical.

        Josephine,

Your final paragraph reminds me of a trip to Lourdes when one of our group represented us at one of the pilgrimage meetings on arrival. We were asked to lay out any concerns or requests. Our rep (Jim) asked if we could have a traditional Latin Mass provided, but was flatly refused. No way.

Later, when one of the priests came over to our table at dinner for a brief “chat” the matter was raised again, but again the response was “no way”. I had to put in my tuppence worth so I asked if it would be possible to arrange an ecumenical meeting in Japanese.

He was livid (getting the point, which is exactly the point you make) and told me that I should go away and say some prayers!

If I’d been a bit quicker off the mark I’d have asked, smiling, of course… “in Latin or Japanese?” 😀

      Victor,

A major problem in the Church today is that Catholics don’t want to know about such scandals.

Interesting about that Muslim mat but it’s not unusual for contemporary Catholics – especially those involved in religious education – to have the signs and symbols of non-Christian religions in their homes. It shows a worrying ignorance of the nature and purpose of symbols, not to mention a shocking failure to grasp the significance of Christ’s coming into the world, which makes redundant pre-Christian symbolism.

I’ve sometimes wondered if Fatima was chosen for the apparitions in 1917 because of the connection with Islam. I don’t know, but I do wonder, since Islam has become the dominant religion and the Fatima apparitions (especially the Secret) were really about the apostasy in the Church.

It’s disgraceful that those bishops are using the people’s money to build mosques – you really do have to wonder what on earth goes on in their minds.

      Laura,

This article I found in the Fatima Centre and it might be what you are thinking about a connection with Islam.

      https://fatima.org/news-views/fatima-and-our-lady-of-good-success-part-2/

It seems this woman named Fatima, the daughter of Mohammed stayed in Portugal after the Moslems were forced out of the country, having fallen in love with a Portuguese (I think nobleman). She became a convert to the Catholic faith – well you can read the story.

I am appalled too that Catholic Bishops dare give money to build Mosques, that is not charity. They are confirming that Moslems should live within a false religion

Your 100% correct their ED about us all being watched. Let’s hope it’s not by ones who seemingly with just ONE complaint can get a Website shut down completely. I also have a Question to ask you, if it’s too personal then let it go but it’s this . We all I.E. have an Internet Server in Our Homes . Now some are Sky . Some Virgin some B.T. Talk Talk or whatever. Mine is a B.T router which could be better but at £35 a Month for unlimited Broadband am O K with. The Question is this . Lots of people I talk to say things like ” Well the Internet is free ” which is wrong. Am maybe going around the roundabouts to what am really trying to say here but basically it’s this. If I pay for my Internet which I do from B.T and some Leftist Organisation gets My Favourite Website Shut Down. Surely under Financial Rules ETC B.T. of whom I pay £35 a Month to should have if not a Moral then a Financial Obligation to Me their Customer to get said Website back up for Me . After all it’s Me who’s paying for it . O and I know it’s well off Topic but ad like your Opinion as do WE have any rights as Paying Consumers. Of course I know I can have the Internet removed but even at that as I ,and probably All on Here also have a Contract. Mine is 2 Years, which I would have to pay for the Internet even if I didn’t use it . Sorry for the gobbledygook at this time of night. But we who are paying for something shouldn’t just be at the Mercy of someone who doesn’t like what we say.

        FOOF,

I am afraid – to the best of my extremely limited knowledge – the answer is in the negative. If a favourite website is pulled down, we can’t claim anything. Our first website WAS pulled down after a complaint and there was nothing for it but to move to another provider. Of course, that first website was a free site, as far as I know, so our webmaster explored the market until he found one where we were assured that legal letters would have no effect on them. To quote: “lawyers are entitled to their opinion…” Nothing more!

If anyone else knows differently, of course, I am sure they will post here but as far as I know, there’s nothing any of us can do, no matter our internet provider, if a favourite website is taken offline. It’s actually not the fault of YOUR internet provider – so, for example, if a website if hosted by WordPress (as is our blog) then it’s WordPress who would remove it, not your internet provider. It’s like saying that if someone fails to pay their phone bill and BT cut off the line, that YOUR provider, say Talk Talk, should somehow compensate YOU.

Maybe that will clarify, but again I’m typing at several thousand words per minute and need to be elsewhere shortly.

I think we’ve reached a point where we need an Apostle to the Disoriented – whose epistle to the Bishops of Tours and Nigeria would begin somewhat as follows:

“To the Bishops of Tours and Nigeria, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hath left thy first charity: Our Lord and His Church. Be mindful therefore from whence thou art fallen: and do penance and do the first works. Or else I come to thee and will move thy candlestick out of its place, except thou do penance.”

Actually, I have to wonder whether Our Lord has already removed their candlesticks, in response to this insanity. Hollow out the One True Faith to the point where it is nothing but humanism and paganism with a few Catholic accidentals, and meanwhile build houses of “worship” for the mortal enemies of the Church!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go make an online donation to Black Lives Matter, in reparation for my white privilege…

You know Victor av spoken to you before about this White Privilege as in De Camtown Ladies Sing This Song Doo Dah Doo Dah. And mentioned My Fathers and probably yours also going to work in Filthy Stinking Conditions underground for a Pittance. As your also off of Italian Stock am sure you are well aware of The Massacre of the Striking Copper Mine Men’s Children in 1913. Men who went on Strike mainly for Support Beams in The Mines as so many were being Killed by roof Collapse. Of course the owners of the Mines said that Dead Men were a lot cheaper than Beams which was True . Which of course showed how much the Rockefellers Etc ( of who Francis kissed one of His Descendants Hands ) valued us white Peasants. Of course the same if not worse was happening also on this side of The Atlantic. So av racked my Limited Brain and the only thing I can come up with in The White Privilege Stakes is that I have never been Starving. O don’t get me wrong I have on Many Many Many occasions went to Bed on a Hungry Belly as My Parents couldn’t afford to give us a Piece in Dip as we called it then . Which was Basically a Piece in Cooking Fat which if we were lucky enough had Brown Sauce put on it . My these B.LM. O and I noticed that the Website you got that article from are Banned By Discuss for so called Hate Comments. Again no doubt caused by White Privilege. Editor,

Actually there is a remote connection between this topic and FOOF’s sidebar on racism: it’s in the headline, “Diversity in Action.” That headline makes this topic more than just two allegedly equal religions, one plotting to destroy the other, and the other, having completely lost their way, actually lending a helping hand to the plot.

As we all know, “diversity” is one of the many words that have been redefined by leftists, and obediently copied by useful idiots. Its real meaning is “anarchy,” or the elimination of any dominant social order in favor of a cultural tossed salad, each ingredient allegedly equal, but competing for their nonexistent moral high ground.

Part of that anarchy objective is to completely discredit the formerly dominant element, which in this case was European and Christian civilization. How to discredit them? Why, critical race theory, of course! Just wave your Saul Alinsky magic wand and make all white Christian Europeans racist! Then our diverse utopia will be achieved!

I rest my case, but with one eye out for a certain rolling pin….meanwhile, FOOF owes me a pint for the rescue….

There is no question that unless there be genuine repentence and reparation by these co-called Catholics then, theologically, they have consigned their souls to eternal damnation. Putting aside all the practical and societal issues surrounding the building of Mosques, the infallible Catholic dogma is “outside the Church no salvation”. Hence Catholics who help to build Mosques act contrary to divine charity by confirming their fellow men in their false religions, which is directly repugnant to Almighty God. Such inter-religious Catholics don’t serve Our Lord Jesus Christ, they serve Lucifer, “the Father of Lies” while presenting themselves as angels of light.

      Athanasius,

That’s the shocking thing about this, that these bishops obviously don’t believe the dogma “extra Ecclesiam nulla salus” – and if so why do they want to pretend to be Catholics? It’s nonsensical.

I agree with the others who say they would not put money into the collections in those dioceses. The rule of the Church for us to do so obviously assumes the bishops and priests are Catholics and deserve to be supported!
