11 June: Feast of the Sacred Heart…
Below, a couple of traditional hymns to honour the Sacred Heart of Jesus on this great Feast day – with thanks to those who performed. They are young volunteers who are keen to emphasise that they are not professional singers, but simply wanted to honour Our Lord. Enjoy!
Comment:
Today is a good day to pray for our special intentions – not least for the return of friends and family members who have abandoned the practice of the Faith. And, of course, as ever, feel free to discuss relevant issues and to post your favourite prayers, novenas, stories of wonderful graces, and hymns. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in Thee…
Happy Feast to all Catholic Truth bloggers and readers !

For Feast of the Sacred Heart:
Troparion, Tone 6: You revealed Your most Sacred Heart as the abyss of Your love for us, O Christ our God. Let our observance of Your commandments in the present age be the return of love for us, so that in the age to come we may enjoy in perfect love the contemplation of Your divinity.
For the Feast of St. Aquilina (June 13th):
Troparion, Tone 4: Your lamb, Aquilina, O Jesus, cries in a loud voice:* “You, O my Bridegroom, I love; and, seeking You, I undergo martyrdom.* And with You I am crucified and buried in Your baptism,* and I suffer for Your sake that I may reign with You.* And I die on Your behalf that I may live in You.* Receive me as a spotless sacrifice,* sacrificed for You with love.”* Through her intercession in Your mercy save our souls.
St. Aquilina was martyred when she was 12 years old. Her story should be made known. This is from a Maronite Catholic source:

Margaret USA,
That is a lovely prayer to the Sacred Heart. Thank you for posting it.
This is interesting about the way Our Lord himself is encouraging devotion to his Sacred Heart.

Happy Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to all!
This “miracle prayer” to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is short but is said to be very powerful for special intentions. I have just prayed it for the return to the faith of a “lost sheep” family member.

A very happy Feast of the Sacred Heart everyone!
Josephine,
Thank you for that prayer – I can think of several “lost sheep” in my own family, and I think a lot of us would want to pray it today.
Josephine,
Many thanks for that prayer – I will be praying it for the three consecutive days, for a very special intention.
Happy Feast everyone! I love the hymns to the Sacred Heart – they’re just beautiful.
A very happy Feast of the Sacred Heart to all at CT.
That is a commendable effort from those boys. Unfortunately, Editor, I did not send you an audio file of the accompaniment transposed to a lower key, and consequently, the boys, who have low voices, had to sing an octave lower. As you will remember, I wasn’t able to accompany them live due to last years lockdown and travel restrictions palava. I wish I had offered to come and record a new version with them this year, but I forgot to suggest it to you.
Miles,
It’s lovely, the one with the boys’ singing – it’s great that you accompanied them.
Sweet Heart of Jesus is one of my own favourites – I just love it! I found this version

Happy Feast day everyone at CT.
Laura,
I absolutely LOVE “Sweet Heart of Jesus” – that’s a new recording, or at least not one I’ve heard/seen before.
Happy Feast!
MI,
Not at all – you were very good to help us get the recording done, and I had emphasised to the boys that I was keen for O Take me to Thy Sacred Heart to be sung gently. On previous occasions I’ve struggled to reach the notes when joining in, so now I can do so with ease. That lets me kid myself that I’m a great singer 😀
So, again, thank you for your invaluable input.
Thanks to those who contributed to this thread today, in honour of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Before I close the thread to comments, I thought I would mention to those who have not yet made the Nine First Fridays in honour of the Sacred Heart, that today might be a good day, the most appropriate Feast day, on which to make that resolution. You can read about this devotion at the following link https://mostsacredheart.com/devotions/first-fridays.html
