Scottish Government Goal: “Much Greater Normality” – Not Freedom…

Scottish Government Goal: “Much Greater Normality” – Not Freedom…

Comment:

A couple of days ago, the BBC  Reporter, Glen Campbell, remarked – in a throwaway comment at the end of his report on the Scottish evening news programme – that we would not be returning to life as we knew it prior to “the virus”.  There would be, he said “a new normal” and apparently this is to be spelt out to us in writing (he mentioned that the Government is working on “a paper”) so the question is – will the Scottish population continue to accept this new form of governance? The majority of Scots have been very meek, totally obedient, so far. Will  this compliance continue?

Shouldn’t we demand a General Election to vote for such a massive change in the way we live our lives?  People in dictatorships such as North Korea don’t know anything about the outside world – they do not even know the concept of freedom, brainwashed as they are from their earliest days to think that they live in the best country in the world.  We do know about freedom and we want our future generations to know about it.  Surely, then, we are not going to hand our freedom over on a permanent basis?

I wonder if anyone else has noticed the deep, dark rings around Nicola Sturgeon’s eyes, evident in the above video clip and many others? I wonder if she is having sleepless nights – a touch of conscience, after all, about what she is doing to us, at the bidding of those pulling her strings? Just a thought…

      Editor,

Yes, indeed, I have noticed many times recently that the FM is looking very tired and strained and it’s not because she’s working late into the night. If she was sleeping soundly, with a clear conscience, she wouldn’t look so haunted. God will bring her to account for what she has done and is doing to us in the name of this virus, which hasn’t even been isolated using the tests to define it as a virus! The whole thing is an outrage.

        Michaela,

Yes, it’s an outrage, no question about it.

To end on a slightly less sombre note, given these days of feigned outrage for the slightest imagined offence, I thought this would make us all smile…

        Warydoom,

It would seem not, but I’m trying to work out why she looks like she hasn’t slept for a year or ten. How would you explain the awful state of her eyes, those deep, dark, rings? Maybe somewhere inside, she knows that the numbers, the reality, and the “cure” don’t match?

        Editor,

This appeared in my inbox just now. I don’t really know much about this organisation but as it pertains to the discussion re coercion and penalties in the UK, I thought I’d post it here.

‘Postcode lottery’ for councils’ ASB and covid penalties

        Embargo: 00.01 Friday 18 June

A new report investigates the dramatic increase in council enforcement powers, and finds that these lack basic checks to ensure that they are used fairly and consistently.

The report – From ASBOs to Covid Marshals – Are local authorities becoming too much like the police? – includes the first FOI research into councils’ use of covid powers.

Over £1 million fines for covid offences including ‘mingling’

Local authorities reported levying 1,201 penalties to businesses for violating covid restrictions, to a value of £1,076,820. These included £1000 fines for failure to maintain 2m distance between tables, failure to prevent ‘mingling’, allowing mixed households on the premises, and failure to display a QR code.

The report also found that local authorities currently employ 1,867 covid marshals, who are passing on intelligence to council enforcement officers and the police. 40% of councils said they used private companies to supply covid marshals, including Kingdom Security and NSL. Several councils said that their marshals carried out joint patrols with the police, while some marshals wear body cameras.

There have been 295 covid ‘directions’ issued by local authorities to restrict access to public spaces or events, between 18 July 2020 and 9 April 2021.

Councils responding to the FOI request said that they levied 222,702 penalties for motorists driving in new low-traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs) in 2020. These LTNs were introduced under the government’s Emergency Active Travel Fund, all without prior public consultation.

All penalties varied dramatically between different council areas.

Council on-spot fines rise from 1000 to millions of penalties per year

Other council fixed penalties have risen from just over 1000 environmental fines in 1997, to millions of penalties in recent years.

These include 4.7 million penalties for parking offences, 250,000 for litter, 1 million for moving traffic offences, and 10,000 anti-social behaviour offences.

Whereas police on-the-spot fines pass to the treasury, councils are allowed to keep the money from fines, creating the potential for corruption and ‘fines harvesting’.

Councils are also allowed to employ private companies to issue penalties on their behalf, with 22 councils employing private companies to issue fines for ASB offences, and 73 employing private companies to issue fines for litter.

The report says that such fining for profit ‘resembles the practices of pre-police “thief catchers” more than modern public enforcement’.

New-style ASBOs reach 32,170 per year

The report found that there were 32,170 new-style ASBOs (Community Protection Notices or Warnings) issued to individuals in the year up to October 2020.

These CPNs and CPWs included instructions to members of the public to obey covid restrictions, to stop a crowing cockerel, or not to beg or sleep rough within a council area. Barnet Council issued several orders telling people ‘not to enter the London borough of Barnet without the written permission of the Metropolitan Police or Barnet Council’.

The report also found that there were 5,491 on-the-spot fines for people violating Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) in 2020, including penalties for begging, loitering, swearing, sleeping rough, and cycling in the town centre.

Criminologists identify low legal standards and ‘postcode lottery’

The report is published alongside new research by Sheffield Hallam University criminologists, which found that councils were using different legal thresholds for issuing Community Protection Notices, and that there was a ‘postcode lottery’ on whether people received these orders or not.

        Criminologist Dr Vicky Heap commented:

“We uncovered great variations in issuing practices, which could lead to an uneven application of the powers across England and Wales. Our work with recipients highlights the need for greater procedural safeguards to reduce disproportionality and bolster due process.”

        Recommendations

From ASBOs to Covid Marshals makes a series of recommendations for the future role of the local authority, including: the scrutiny and reporting of statistics of local authority penalties and orders; the end of ‘pseudo police’ such as covid marshals; and the prohibition of the use of private companies to issue fines.

Josie Appleton, Manifesto Club director and report author, comments:

“Government seems intent on piling more and more enforcement powers on local authorities, but these lack basic accountability. Government doesn’t even keep statistics on the use of these powers, let alone ensure that they are being used fairly. As well costing people money, penalisation can lead to criminal records that can affect employment and higher education opportunities. Instead of becoming second-rate police, councils should focus on their unique and important mission of improving local areas and representing the wishes of local people.”

        Warydoom,

I’ve skimmed that information (will check out the links later) and it is very sinister indeed. If, indeed, the powers of Councils are being extended to duplicate those of the police, then that is appalling. And if it’s happening in England and Wales, you can be sure that it’s happening here in Scotland.

Well, all I can say to that is, she should be having sleepless nights, her conscience should be bothering her and she should be worried about how this is all going to end because it won’t be good for her. Previous dictators came to sorry ends and so will the remaining ones and she, Boris and the rest will be counted among the criminals who imposed totalitarianism on the people. She and they will pay a price in the end. I just hope it’s sooner rather than later.

Given that Pope Francis is so old now, the chances are we’ll get another pope soon who will do the Fatima consecration of Russia and that will see the beginning of the end of this nightmare.

I thought I’d post this article which is from 2019 on the Fatima.org website, but I think it’s worth reading again. https://fatima.org/volunteer/vl202/

Or do these shameless politicians have something in the pipeline to protect or compensate their own relatives as this tyranny progresses to new levels?

I mentioned the other day, on the lockdown thread, how the bad conscience of Boris Johnson is etched on his face. It now seems, from your sharp observation, that Nicola Sturgeon is displaying similar facial signs of bad conscience. No matter how hard they try, conscience is not easily suppressed and it shows on their countenance.

She, Like Johnson and the rest, is a criminal of the worst order, right up there with the Coomunist leaders of China and North Korea, as well historical despots like Hitler, Stalin and Napoleon. They will ultimately meet the same fate as these evil people but will go down in the record books as being so much worse because the crime against humanity that they’re presently perpetrating is global in nature.

I reckon her “new normal” for the country will include perpetual masking and distancing, those things that Sir Desmond Swayne spoke of yesterday as unthinkable and horrible, as well as enforced vaccine through a vaccine passport system. There will be a few other surprises up her sleeve of course, inhumane rules that decent people would never think of, but I believe the aforementioned will definitely be there.

Nicola Sturgeon is the worst kind of Marxist dictator – she loves the power and she enjoys imposing laws against God and nature. Remember the “gay marriage” consultation that went against her when the democratic public said no, and how she just overruled that voice and imposed the evil anyway? That’s what despots like her do, they pretend to be democratic but they hate and destest democracy. She rules by tyranny, that’s why she was put there. Still, as I say, her end will come at some point and it will be tpyical of the end met by despots who hate God and abuse power to the detriment of human society.

As regards the Scottish people rebelling against the present evil – forget it! I am utterly ashamed at thw way the Scots have just meekly accepted this Communist totalitarianism. A few decades ago they would have been on hte streets in their millions demanding the political head of Nicola Sturgeon and her low-life Party, but not today.

The reason why the English are protesting more is that England is not nearly as steeped in Socialism (Communism) as Scotland. Our nation has been under the thumb of Red subversives for generations, thanks largely to a history of Tory disdain for, and abuse of, the working class. People in this country have therefore been submitted to years of a system of cultural Marxist propaganda rather than education. What that means effectively is that they are no longer sufficiently educated or inclined to question what they’re told to believe. I’ve noticed this over a long period, it’s like a new class of people has emerged in Scotland in recent decades, much lower in education and moral standards than the average working class citizen. It’s hand reared on State handouts and Marxist doctrine and consequently utterly subservient to what the “great leader” declares. There really hasn’t been a great difference in this regard between the people of North Korea and the Scotland. The only difference, until now, was the absence of totalitarian brutality forcing a removal of all freedom and liberties. Well, it’s effectively North Korea now and they deserve all they get for their idiocy, intellectual laziness and easy compliance. Our Scottish ancestors would be ashamed of the present day Scots, a people that even the Romans couldn’t conquer. Just shows what psychology can do!

      Athanasius,

I think you are referring to Sir Desmond Swayne MP speaking in Parliament about the latest extension to lockdown in England which also means Scotland because the FM follows Boris like a wee dog, pretending that she’s not. If only we had one Scottish MSP who would challenge this whole lockdown business as well as he has done.

Yes, that is the video of Sir Desmond Swayne that I was referring to. I agree with both you and Margaret Mary that while we hear such voices in Westminster, there’s no equivalent up here in Scotland. That just proves the point I made about Scottish politics being dominated now by Marxists. No matter what political party they represent, the MSP’s are all compliant cultural Marxists by any other name. They live in terror of Nicola Sturgeon and her SNP thug subordinates.

        Michaela & Athanasius,

Hear, hear. Sir Desmond Swayne is in the minority but he is to be commended for speaking up. I remember being critical of his initial interventions where he was very much the showman – something for which he is apparently famous in Westminster. But as the above clip shows, he’s not seeing the funny side of this any more – I think he’s sincerely concerned.

Athanasius I don’t know of any Conscience on Nippys Face as I haven’t seen it for months of course av seen photos of Her and that’s enough for me. As far as a Conscience Look ,as you say She is a Despot ,a Disciple of the Evil one so probably it’s just Wrinkles with age and a Bad Diet. As for Scotland’s past your most certainly correct as I went through the No Unions to the Unions taking over so their was no Balance as was most certainly seen under Thatcher who let’s not forget also suppressed our Freedoms and although some Industry was needing overhauling She destroyed others that were Very Good . In fact the Clysdale Steelworks in Mossend was Stripped even to the Very Nuts and Bolts ,taken to China and Rebuilt with the Help of British Engineers.

As for the People being led by Nippy you are Spot on and most actually think
( how I do not know) that the Sun Shines out of Here rear end . The S.N.P. of course are loved by the young ones as they have more or less dropped the Voting age to 16 . I know not if Sturgeon still does Her Daily The Reverend I Am Jolly Speech but last year She just Loved telling the Peasants what they could and couldn’t do. Of course we still know this Chinese Disease is around but av yet to Even Read on The Internet ONE Scottish So Called Expert telling the Peasants to Eat a good Diet and to take Vitamin D . Vitamin C and a Zinc supplement to keep our immune systems at least in good order . For of course there is No Way their actually going to give out the Real Medicine for this Chinese Disease which is Ivermectin and that alone is Enough to make them all Criminals of the worst kind . Governments that will not give Dying People the correct Medicine to save them. That is not my opinion it is Doctor Kory Pierre and a group of Very Good Scientists who have been saying that Ivermectin is the Best Medicine for Covid and have been saying it for over a Year . BTW I owe you an apology concerning a comment I made back to you on another thread about ” Foreign Influence ” sorry about that.

Re the nature of the present generation: I am terrified of what future generations will turn out like. I refer to the obscene brainwashing and education in moral relativity and early sexualisation of children , and the effect on them of cruelties and abnormal treatment in the form of masking them, isolating them from friends with social distancing (horrible word) and locking them up at home. The general dehumanisation. I think many will develop into emotionless monsters who will not baulk at any cruelty or abomination. Not to mention the damage to their body and brains by experimental vaccines since they’ want to come for the children now. According to Rainer Fuellmilch , interviwed recently by Jerm Warfare and James Delingpole respectively, thinks this is because they’re panicking; they rushed this through and things are going wrong. Adverse reactions particularly. Plus I heard amazingly that 3 British Airways pilots have just died from the jab. Yet they’re forging ahead and getting more dangerous and desperate than ever. I’ve heard rumours that July will get very interesting, possible cyber attacks engineered by them perhaps but blamed on the Russians? The start of the economic meltdown?

        Mary,

I fully agree with you about young people and future generations – they will certainly suffer from this scandalous medical tyranny.

Indeed, only this morning I was thinking about the difference I can see in the young people who are going along with the masking etc in schools, and the home-educated youngsters in my life.

The latter are independent thinkers. They are able to articulate the nonsense of it all and none of them will wear a mask. One fifteen year old tells me that when a gatekeeper person asked him at the door of one of the shops why he wasn’t wearing a mask, he replied “I don’t WEAR a mask!” End of – and walked right on into the shop. A bit like Joe Biden, thanks to only interacting with his favourite reporters, he’s never been asked a follow-up question 😀

Seriously, though, children who have been forced to go along with the stupid restrictions will definitely be damaged, many of them permanently. I think that is self-evident, sadly. And their parents should be utterly ashamed of themselves for not having the instinctive parental common sense in sufficient amount to alert them to the importance of protecting their offspring from this whole medical and social experiment. Crazy people.

I agree about Sir Desmond Swayne MP – he’s been great speaking out in Parliament quite a few times on this, and he’s every more angry in that clip. I noticed that the opposition benches are almost completely empty! The only opposition is coming from the government’s own benches, LOL!

There’s another MP in Westminster speaking out well and I’d never have thought it. I would never have thought I’d say I wish Theresa May was still PM ! It’s just amazing that there is no Scot in Parliament speaking up for our freedoms. I can’t believe it.

    June 17, 2021 at 4:55 pm
    • mary

Teresa May speaking up for our freedoms? Not genuinely, no way. She’s the one who said (2012) that EU paramilitaries with diplomatic immunity would be welcome on our soil, and prepared the Security Treaty ensuring that we would still be subject to arbitrary arrest and long imprisonment under the EU Arrest Warrant arrangement. And at the mercy of the EU Public Prosecutor. All on the pretext of cooperation with the EU after “Brexit.”
I expect this is prompted by angry letters from constituents, and fear of losing votes.
She was the one who said Brexit means Brexit yet I’m told was caught on camera in the back benches sniggering with Kenneth Clarke at how Brexit was being betrayed.
Don’t know about Swayne. I never trust ANY Tory! Remember politicians are consummate actors.

I do trust Sir Desmond Swayne, though, because he has been consistent from the get-go, even being interviewed on talkRadio in the relatively earlyish days.

They’ve put a show of “restrictions” on, saying only 50 can participate at a time, but the roads are always chock a block, there’ll will be hundreds if not thousands on the streets lining up so they can easily deal with that “rule”.

Nicola Sturgeon a conscience? I can’t see it, really, although I do see the lines under her eyes. If she is bothered by her conscience it will not be because she’s sorry for what she’s doing to us.

I do think we should pray for her and the others involved in this crime against humanity, or it will take them to hell.

As far as I know Parliament is most likely talking about vaccine passports. Its usage for the future is to allow people to travel abroad on holiday, for business trips and that is just for starters. I can think of a whole list of things that those without such passports will not be allowed to have access to.

Shopping for basic necessities: Food, clothing, footwear, and that is just to begin with. It would not surprise me how long such a list would grow. That would be an added way on route to depopulate the world’s population.

I think you’re right about vaccine passports. They will be introduced gradually, until we can’t do anything without one. It’s evil.

There is, I am hearing through the grapevine, a kind of black market being prepared to allow to live as freely as possible in a dictatorship, by hiding in plain sight, if you get my drift, so there IS hope. Hang on in there!

Here’s an extract from today’s Lockdown Sceptics email…

The doom-mongers of SAGE were out in force again yesterday, building on their recent victory in Downing Street to keep stoking the fear. The Independent brings us the latest wisdom from Imperial College’s Professor Neil Ferguson.

The third wave of COVID-19 cases in the UK has already began, according to Government advisers – who said it was possible strict lockdown curbs would have to reintroduced at some point this year.
It comes as a new study commissioned by the Government found Covid infections have increased 50% since the start of May – as the country struggles to combat the rise of the highly-transmissible Delta variant first detected in India.

“We’re at the beginning of [the third wave] now,” said Professor Neil Ferguson, the Imperial epidemiologist dubbed “Professor Lockdown” by the tabloid press.

Ferguson told a media briefing that his latest modelling predicts between 100 and 1,200 deaths a day at the peak of the summer “third wave”, before raising the possibility that restrictions may need to be introduced.

I’m very much hoping we won’t need to reverse course [on the easing of restrictions] – and I suspect we won’t. We will inevitably see cases and hospitalisations rise. But the key is [how] manageable the level is.

Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty gave a similar warning.

Speaking to the NHS Confederation, the Chief Medical Officer for England said that the current upsurge in cases of the Delta variant first identified in India will “definitely” translate into further hospitalisations and deaths.

And he added: “My expectation is that we will get a further winter surge – late autumn-winter surge.
“And that’s because we know that winter and autumn favour respiratory viruses, and therefore it would be very surprising if this particularly highly transmissible virus was not also favoured. So we’ll get the current wave – an exit wave – then I do think most people think that there will be further problems over the winter.

“How big they will be I think is uncertain. That partly depends on [whether] we get any variants that can evade vaccines better, and on how the current wave passes through the UK. …

“We have to just be aware that Covid has not thrown its last surprise at us.”

SAGE’s latest official advice to the Government has been published, projecting a “summer wave” that is comparable to the spring 2020 wave. It writes: “Under most scenarios, this summer wave would be smaller than the January 2021 wave, in terms of hospitalisations and deaths, but comparable to the April or October 2020 waves.” (SAGE here seems to be unaware that it was only testing that made the January surge seem larger than the spring.)

The latest data from Imperial’s REACT study, covering the period May 20th to June 7th, was also published yesterday, showing infections are “rising exponentially” and “doubling every 11 days“.
These alarmist projections are faltering already, however. The more up-to-date data from the ZOE Covid Study App shows the ripple is already flattening, as Sarah Knapton reports in the Telegraph.
The recent Covid spike is already beginning to flatten, latest data show, as experts said Britain was experiencing a “mini wave” which was likely to peak within two weeks.

Latest data from the King’s College ZOE symptom tracker app, which monitors community prevalence, show cases in unvaccinated people rose by just 28% up to June 12th, compared to 114% the previous week.

Professor Tim Spector, lead scientist on the app and Professor of Genetic Epidemiology at King’s College, said it looked as if cases would peak within a fortnight.

The good news is that this isn’t going up as fast as it was. This has been a much better week than it was last week. I think we can start to see an end to this little mini wave in the young and the extra time we’ve got should be able to squash this from getting out of control.

Rates in the North West of the country and Scotland are still going up but you can definitely see signs they are starting to level off. Rates in London look like they are starting to slow down.

If we look at the way past waves have come and gone I would be predicting that this should be peaking around 10 to 14 days time and then start to fall, so by four weeks we are at a much lower level than we are now, and much more manageable.

I think this suggests that this should be the end of this summer wave, it doesn’t mean there won’t be other waves outbreaks.

Positive tests in Blackburn – a Delta variant hotspot – have also begun to decline. Ends.

These scoundrels are determined to keep us all on edge, not knowing what is coming next. “Covid has not thrown its last surprise at us” translates as “you’re not getting your freedom back, live with it.” Or, rather, live without it…

Why is Professor Neil Ferguson still being asked for his opinion on anything to do with Covid? He proved himself to be totally dishonest, locking the rest of us down while he continued life as usual with his married girlfriend visiting his home when nobody else could meet up. He is as brazen as they come, and completely untrustworthy, IMHO. I am furious that he still gets invited to give his opinion on this. I note that his opinion is that restrictions may need to be introduced to deal with the “third wave” – I take it he means more lockdowns. Just how many “waves” are there going to be before we can get on with our lives? It’s just beyond belief that this idiot still has a say at all. I think he should be in jail.

Neil Ferguson, Chris Whitty and most of the other “experts” who have run this country into the ground operate from Imperial College London. That place is full of Socialists and well bought off by the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation. They are simply bought men, paid to lie.

Here’s yet more evidence of the duplicity – there is no end to it. They can’t hide the fact that what they are doing to us is totally unnecessary, and the “fear” can be abated when it suits the powers-that-be…

Here’s my doom and gloom comment for the day: the people who are carrying out this crime against humanity are the ideological descendants of those who carried out the Reign of Terror. In fact, in some cases (e.g. at the bankster level), I’d say they are the blood descendants as well.

      RCA Victor,

It’s just disgraceful and so blatant what they are doing now – if we didn’t realise it before (which we did), the facts behind this latest extension to lockdown, we surely do now. Here’s today’s bulletin from Keep Britain Free (KBF):

“Earlier this week Boris Johnson confirmed that England’s next step out of lockdown will be delayed by four weeks due to concerns over the Delta variant.
Pegged ‘Freedom Day’, the 21st June was supposed to see all legal restrictions on social contact lifted, more premises allowed to reopen including nightclubs, and limits on large events and performances removed. However, as expected, the Governments latest U-turn has seen the goalposts shift once again.

On top of this, it has now been confirmed that the ‘expert’ modelling used as a justification to extend the restrictions was, in fact, out of date. On Monday, just hours before Boris Johnson announced the delay, the Government published new modelling warning that a deadly third wave was on the horizon. Yet it has since emerged that these models were based on old estimates of vaccine effectiveness – a fact the Government was aware of at the time.

This all comes in the same week Dominic Cummings shared a 7,000-word blog post heaping harsh criticism on the Government and laying bare a chain of revealing messages from the Prime Minister – unsurprisingly revealing that Hancock’s handling of the pandemic was “hopeless”.

Time and time again, we have been told that these restrictions are crucial to protect the NHS. Yet the NHS waiting list is now over five million long and only one percent of beds in the NHS are currently being used by Covid patients. Given there were just three Covid deaths on Monday, compared to the 450 daily cancer deaths in the UK, it begs the questions – if they won’t restore full freedoms now, then when will they?

Since Monday, we have seen a flurry of reports suggesting that ‘booster jabs’ could be the next excuse for the Government to extend restrictions beyond July. In stark comparison, in Israel it has been announced that all Covid restrictions are being lifted now that all of their vulnerable citizens have been vaccinated – that means no masks and no distancing.

With the UK trailing behind its global counterparts, we cannot give up and must continue to fight for our freedoms. To this end, we will continue to work tirelessly away in the background to support legal actions and group initiatives that we believe have extremely strong merit and will help to ensure that lockdown measures do not end up as part of our everyday lives.

Once again, I’d like to thank each and every one of you for your ongoing support and we will continue to update you on the cases we are involved in as they develop.

Together, we will Keep Britain Free.
      The KBF Team ”

      Unbelievable.

      RCA Victor,

That is one incredible report – and reading the comments underneath the report is encouraging. Many begin with “I didn’t want to believe this but…”

At least people are wakening up now; as one commentator said in response to the report, the vaccine is causing more deaths than Covid.

To which I say to all those numpties who still think this is about a virus – get it now?

Just came across this website, here’s a major “oops” moment for the criminals behind this reign of terror:

(Caveat: just discovered a note at the bottom that this memo may not be authentic. However, the website’s caveat is appropriate!)

Authentic memo or not, the contents are very probably largely accurate. That is what is going on – no mistake about it. It is SO obvious, which is why whoever made up that memo (assuming it’s NOT authentic) could get it so right if you see what I mean… 😀

      RCA Victor,

I note your caveat – I’ve only had time to skim the memo but I would be surprised if it were authentic, simply because he concludes with an exhortation to the recipients to print if off and keep it under lock and key in case of hackers. Why, then, would he send it in the first place – I would think that such devious skulduggery would be best conducted at a pavement café, wearing sunglasses and large hats and making a show of reading a very large, broadsheet, newspaper! I have my doubts but then again, stranger things have happened. So, one never knows, does one…

They discussed this (or something like this) on UK Column today. They did not have a view on its authenticity . But their message was, many people get hold of items like this, think it is juicy, and share it on Twitter. They shouldn’t do this without first checking it out, they said, l otherwise we are giving Govt ammunition for their Online Harms legislation. (Which is purportedly for eg child protection ; although laws already exist for these). The real reason for the Online Harms legislation is to silence ALL criticism of the Government.

        Mary,

I haven’t heard about “Online Harms” legislation but it’s absolutely sinister if they are seeking to silence opinions on the internet. We are being oppressed – it’s not something down the line, it’s happening now, which is why I wish everyone would openly refuse to obey. I’m keeping before my mind the poster held up at last Saturday’s protest outside Downing Street: Your obedience is prolonging this nightmare”.

        Got it in one…

I also have serious doubts over the authenticity of this document, which, as you correctly point out, would likely never have been sent by electronic means had it been genuine. Nevertheless, let’s wait and see what happens in July. If what is suggested in that memo begins to unfold then we will have the evidence that it is in fact genuine. I doubt it, though.

If it is fake then whoever put it together does the resistance movement to new totalitarianism a great disservice insofar as it will be used by the evil side as evidence that all who oppose their Communist plans are nuts. From that point of view I wouldn’t be in the least surprised if the government put this out for just that purpose, hoping that impetuous people would publish it far and wide.

        Athanasius,

I agree – it is stupid to hand “evidence” to the enemy side, as a stick with which to beat us, which is exactly what they will do if this memo turns out to be fake, as I suspect it will.

I have briefly read this about the UK Government bringing vaccine passports. Am I wrong in thinking that this was inevitable.
