Feast of SS Peter & Paul: Pray for Pope – Urgently
Pope Francis seems to be determined to push “Vatican II” to the limits, in a manner of speaking. This from The Catholic Sun (28/06/22)
VATICAN CITY (CNS) — Before celebrating the Holy Year 2025, Pope Francis is asking Catholics around the world to dedicate time in 2023 to studying the documents of the Second Vatican Council.
Presenting the official logo for the Holy Year June 28, Archbishop Rino Fisichella also announced the pope’s plan for helping Catholics prepare for the celebration: focusing on the four constitutions issued by Vatican II in 2023; and focusing on prayer in 2024.
The four Vatican II constitutions are: Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (“Sacrosanctum Concilium“); Dogmatic Constitution on the Church (“Lumen Gentium“); Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation (“Dei Verbum“); and Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World (“Gaudium et Spes“).
Archbishop Fisichella, whom the pope appointed to coordinate planning the Holy Year, said, “A series of user-friendly resources, written in appealing language, are being produced to arouse curiosity in those who have no memory” of the council, which was held 1962-65.
Details about the 2024 year of prayer and spiritual preparation for the jubilee are still being worked out, the archbishop said.
The Vatican already had announced that Pope Francis chose “Pilgrims of Hope” as the theme for the Holy Year.
Held every 25 years since 1470, a holy year or jubilee is a time of pilgrimage, prayer, repentance and acts of mercy, based on the Old Testament tradition of a jubilee year of rest, forgiveness and renewal.
In February, the Vatican announced a worldwide competition to design the logo for the Holy Year, and Archbishop Fisichella unveiled it June 28 during a conference in the Sala Regia of the Apostolic Palace.
“A total of 294 entries were received from 213 cities and 48 different countries,” he said in prepared remarks. “Participants ranged in age from 6 to 83. In fact, many hand-drawn designs were received from children from all over the world, and it was really moving to go through these drawings which were the fruit of imagination and simple faith.”
A commission of “iconographers, graphic designers, art and brand experts, architects and some pastors” chose a design submitted by Giacomo Travisani, and Pope Francis approved it.
“The logo shows four stylized figures to indicate all of humanity from the four corners of the earth,” Archbishop Fisichella said. “They are each embracing another, indicating the solidarity and brotherhood that must unite peoples. It should be noted that the first figure is clinging to the cross. The underlying waves are choppy to indicate that the pilgrimage of life is not always on calm waters.”
Travisani, explaining the logo, said, “When I wanted to ‘personify’ hope I immediately had a clear image: the cross; hope, I told myself, is in the cross.”
The four human figures are in different colours. Travisani said, “the red is love, action and sharing; the yellow-orange is the colour of human warmth; green evokes peace and equilibrium; blue is the colour of security and protection.” Source

It would have been better if they had the icon of the Holy Fathers of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicea in 325 AD since 2025 will be its 1700th anniversary.
Margaret USA,
That’s a great point about the anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicea – well said!
This pope just isn’t going to give up. It’s a wonder we’re not having to sign a legal document to say we accept Vatican II totally before we can get into Mass. That would make as much sense as the vaccine mandate he’s authorised, so it might happen yet, LOL! What a mess.
IMHO, it’s important to pray for the intercession of today’s great saints – Happy Feast everyone!
A logo that needs a detail explanation and colour coding is useless! We should pray urgently for Pope Francis, I agree; intention: that his physical suffering should end asap! Take that whatever way you want, LOL!
Happy Feast of SS Peter & Paul everyone!
I was trying to find the hymn Faith of our Fathers on YouTube to post here but it’s a totally different tune, and sung by different Protestant denominations, LOL! I noticed this video though and couldn’t believe it. Pope Francis wanting to share sacraments now as part of the ecumenical outreach, this time with the Oriental Orthodox. To the best of my knowledge, they are schismatics.
Josephine go onto You Tube and listen to Frank Paterson sing Faith of Our Fathers. Am no good at posting Links.
Happy Feast Day All.
I forgot to wish everyone a happy feast in my previous post, so Happy Feast of these great SS Peter & Paul!
Dear Friends
Happy feast day and Gods blessing to everyone.
I am reminded that on this day 29th June 1972 Pope St Paul VI made his remarks regarding the “ smoke of Satan entering into the Temple of God”.
The madness continues even regarding this logo. If the Pope and the hierarchy put as much thought and effort into defending and proclaiming the supernatural Catholic Faith in terms of doctrine, liturgy and morality as the source and summit for all humanity to accept and believe in as they do with this nonsense of logos and their meaning etc. then l would maybe take it and them seriously- though l doubt it.
This is symptomatic of the diabolical disorientation the Church and world are in just now. Ignore what really matters and focus on superficial trivia.
I still haven’t heard the Pope or the Vatican globally comment on the Supreme Courts decision regarding Roe vs Wade or defend the dignity of marriage between a man and a woman etc in the face of this anti life and insidious transgender ideology etc etc.
I ask St Peter and Paul for their intercessions before the Most Holy Trinity regarding this evil that the Church and the world is mired in due to Satans. demonic activity.
Ave Maria!
Every blessing
Michael 🙏
Michael,
This is symptomatic of the diabolical disorientation the Church and world are in just now. Ignore what really matters and focus on superficial trivia.
Totally correct. I agree with you completely.
And I also agree with you regarding the absence of comment from the Pope and Vatican about Roe V Wade. It’s nothing short of shocking. They’re with the Godless, globalist elite, no question about it.
Wishing everyone at CTS a very happy and holy Feast of SS Peter & Paul.
Michael and Laura,
I agree with both of you. Who can fail to remember the words of Pope Paul VI on this very date in 1972.
It is a sad fact that Pope Francis has not made any comment about Roe V Wade. I seriously doubt that he would bother to do so.
Wishing everyone at CTS a happy and holy Feast of SS Peter and Paul.
Happy Feast everyone! SS Peter & Paul, pray for Pope Francis!
Love the disguised rainbow flag in your new logo, Pope Francis – it’s so compassionate and inclusive, and smells so much like sheep.
So uh, how much of our collection plate donations did you and your effeminate Jesuits spend to create this latest betrayal of the Faith? While you’re not answering that question, perhaps you should ruminate on this motto:
At the end of every LGBTWHATEVER rainbow lies the pit of Hell.
Victor that’s the Very First things that Hit Me in Bergoglios Logo the disguised Homosexual Colors. If Bergoglio think He fools those of us who are Not Enthusiastic about His Pride Garbage then He’s fooling Himself.
Of course those Who surround Him in the New Babylon are of Likewise thinking and Feeling. Personally your like me am Sick really Sick to the Teeth of everything having a Homosexual connotation that comes from this Man. Earlier in another comment by Lily. She said would we have to show Vatican 2 . Documents to get into Mass . I personally believe it’s getting nearer the Point that we’d have to take a Copy of Jimmy Martins Garbage to get into a Catholic Church.
Have just found this item in Gloria.tv which seems apt as a symptom of diabolic disorientation.

It might actually be a good thing for the faithful to study those four Constitutions – then they would hopefully discover, among other things, that Vatican II never called for a new rite of Mass. And even become aware of the chasm between the Council documents and the “spirit of Vatican II.”
(That limp-wristed “spirit” has been on full display during this entire pontificate.) (Er, I forgot, that’s the “new Pentecost,” the “new evangelization,” and best of all, the “new Holy Spirit.”)
Speaking of the wokeness behind this pathetic logo, here’s a cute little video on the use of pronouns (Sturgeon, take note):
(It repeats halfway through, so it’s half as long as it appears)
I’ve yet to follow through to read some of the links posted on this thread, but I will do asap.
For now, though, I’ll close this Feast Day thread with sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to it.
God bless.
