Archbishop Viganò To Brother Bishops: Speak Out!
Published at The Remnant Newspaper
Archbishop Viganò’s exhortation to his brother bishops published here on the Feast of Pope Saint Pius X…
CARLO MARIA VIGANÒ
Archbishop, Apostolic Nuncio
To my venerable Brothers in the Episcopate
In the glorious martyrs, Holy Church gives us an example of heroic virtues to imitate, showing us how the Grace of God assists those who love Him even to the point of facing torments and death. And while the wicked rage in vain against the bodies of the Martyrs in order to afflict their immortal souls, the Saints triumph with Christ precisely in witnessing to the primacy of Incarnate Truth over error, and of Immolated Charity over the seductions of the world. The palm of Martyrdom draws it sap from the wood of the Cross, and the crown of the Martyrs shines with the rays of the Redeeming Sacrifice of Our Lord.
Let us consider the example of the Πρόδρομος, the Forerunner, Saint John the Baptist, who preceded his Divine Master not only in announcing His Coming and the Baptism for the remission of sins, but also in facing death at the hand of the Tetrarch of Galilee, Herod Antipas, whom John admonished for the scandal that he gave to the people of Israel by keeping company in public concubinage with the wife of Herod the Great’s brother, Herodias. These events, documented by historians, are mentioned in the Gospel along with the role played by Salomé in asking her stepfather for the Baptist’s head. Saint Ambrose comments:
Ab adulteris justus occiditur, et a reis in judicem capitalis sceleris pœna convertitur. The just man is killed by adulterers, and the death sentence is pronounced by the guilty against their judge. Clauduntur lumina non tam mortis necessitate quam horrore luxuriæ: Baptist’s eyes closed not so much because of death but because of the horror of lust. Os aureum illud exsangue, cujus sententiam ferre non poteras, conticescit, et adhuc timetur: His golden mouth, now bloodless, whose sentence you Herod could not bear, grows silent, but yet you still feared it.
How can your voice be silent, dear brothers, in the face of the legitimization of adultery?
How can your voice be silent, dear brothers, in the face of the legitimization of adultery? Will you choose to make yourselves accomplices of those who bow to the spirit of the world and show obsequious deference to the powerful, going so far as to admit to the Eucharistic Table those who by their conduct violate the Commandments of God, despise the law of the Church and give scandal to the faithful? How much longer will you allow the sanctity of marriage and the witness of Saint John the Baptist to be trampled underfoot? How much longer will you ignore the words of Saint Ambrose, on whose Cathedra sits today a successor who winks at the concubinaries to make himself acceptable to the guests of the new Herod? (here and here)
The Forerunner was not afraid to raise his voice against Herod, facing death with the serene abandonment of the just to the will of God. Will you be afraid to preach the Word, to insist in season and out of season, to correct, to rebuke, to exhort with all patience and doctrine (2 Tim 4:2), when the errors and deceptions of Amoris Lætitia are inspired by Salomé more than by the Forerunner? when the author of Amoris Lætitia can at worst remove you from your Cathedra because of your fidelity to Christ? And even if you were to be brought before the courts, would you agree to renounce proclaiming Christ, and Christ crucified (1 Cor 2:2), in order to save your earthly life and lose eternal life?
Do not make the Passion of the Redeemer to have been in vain, for He shed his Most Precious Blood in order to save repentant sinners, not to confirm them in sin.
I exhort you, most beloved Brothers, you who are the Successors of the Apostles, Ministers of Christ and dispensers of the Mysteries of God (1 Cor 4:1), to consider your responsibility in supporting the doctrinal and moral deviations of those who abuse their role and authority to sow error, offend the Majesty of God, humiliate the Holy Church and lose souls. I exhort you, through the Wounds of Christ: awaken from your lethargy that makes you accomplices of a betrayal, for which you will have to give an account to the Just Judge on the day of your death. Consider that your silence takes away from the Glory of Heaven the souls entrusted to you by the Supreme Shepherd, to whom even the one who sits in Rome will one day answer. Do not make the Passion of the Redeemer to have been in vain, for He shed his Most Precious Blood in order to save repentant sinners, not to confirm them in sin.
The Lord asks you to be the guide of the Lord’s flock, using your Crosier to lead the sheep to the pastures of Heaven. Your destiny is to accompany them with Charity to the Eternal Glory for which they were created and redeemed, and not to precede them into the flames of hell.

How, indeed, can the bishops – and others in positions of religious authority within the Church – continue to remain silent in the face of the moral decadence swamping us at this time? Will any of them pay the slightest attention to Archbishop Viganò’s reminder of their duty to guide and protect their people?

I fear his brother bishops will take no notice whatsoever. He’s been speaking truth to power for years. I think the evidence suggests that hardly any of our bishops are worthy of their office. They will answer to God for their effeminacy and, some, for their treachery.
Andrew Q,
I think you are right to say that his brother bishops will keep on ignoring his words. That will be to their eternal shame. He is right to keep on pricking at their consciences, though, that I firmly believe.
I agree – these treacherous bishops will answer to God for their misuse of their important high office. They are doing the opposite of what they should be doing, which is leading souls to Heaven. I wish they would listen to Archbishop Vigano but I fear they’re too far gone on the wrong path now. It would take a tremendous grace to life the blindness from their eyes now.
I tend to agree that the bishops will go on ignoring Archbishop Vigano but he is doing his duty by doggedly repeating the truth about their neglect.
I hesitated before posting this link here, but I do think it’s connected to the apostasy in the Church – pagan worship at the heart of the United Nations, which Francis said we are all to obey!

Margaret Mary,
I agree that the bishops will continue to ignore Archbishop Vigano who is doing his duty in repeating the truth about their neglect.
The link you have given is chilling indeed – it is atheistic in practice. And we have a duty to disobey Pope Francis who claims we must obey the United Nations. It is God to whom we owe our allegiance and our love.

Theresa Rose,
I’ll obey the UN about as much as I obey Pope Francis, LOL!
Dear friends
Archbishop Vigano (along with a handful of others) is a voice crying in the wilderness. His remarks exude truth, beauty and grace. Sadly many of his fellow confreres are consumed with the sin of pride, self delusion and vanity. They have sold the souls for the vain glory of this world.
All of this is a consequence of not believing in and holding to the supernatural Catholic faith and all it pertains to.
These men have abandoned their flock and vocation to ravenous and rapacious wolves who are determined to destroy and drag us into hell, where their master and lord resides.
The prince of this world has enthroned himself in the heart of the Vatican where conducts and orchestrates his diabolical endgame against God, the Church and humanity, using these false shepherds as willing pawns in his evil game of chess.
My prayers are with him for his love and fidelity to Christ, the Church and us as his spiritual children.
Ave Maria!
Every blessing
Michael 🙏
Michael,
I think your first paragraph says it all. There’s really nothing left to say. “They have sold the souls for the vain glory of this world.” just about sums up the situation, sadly.
I think all we can do now is pray and hope that the bishops of the world pay heed to Archbishop Vigano’s words of warning. If they don’t then they will end up in Hell along with the souls they’ve led there. It doesn’t bear thinking about. But we should thank God for him, thank God for giving us this voice in the wilderness, Archbishop Vigano.
Laura
I completely agree with you. It’s all down to faith and prayers and The actions if the Holy Spirit in the designs of Providence.
Every blessing
Michael 🙏
Michael,
“The prince of this world has enthroned himself in the heart of the Vatican…”
As you may know, according to Malachi Martin, that happened quite literally on June 29, 1963, with a Satanic enthronement ceremony conducted in Charleston, South Carolina by phone with a group, in the Vatican, of Satanists disguised as clergy. This event is described in WIndswept House.
Dear RCA Victor and FOF
I am in complete accord with both of you about our erstwhile Bishops.
RCA I’m glad you mentioned the enthronement ceremony l read that book years ago and that entire event as indicated in Windswept House confirmed a similar account told to me by a very holy priest (now gone to his eternal reward please God) l had known since my youth. He had been stationed in Rome from the late 50’s till the late 70’s.
We are now witnessing first hand the reality of Satan and the legions of Hell at work in the Church and the world at large.
I thank God that he has given us this Grace that we can understand the signs of the times.
Ave Maria!
Every blessing
Michael 🙏
Michael it really is simple. Most of our Rotten so called Top Clergymen are not Catholics they are just after an easy Job .
Was the Money any better in with The Episcopalians or the Heretical Lutherans they’d be off Quicker than Bergoglio could say ” Who Am I To Judge”
What really is so depressing is that when you try and talk to so called Catholics about these Deviant Clergymen they think that you cannot say their wrong. To be Honest I now say nothing as it was like talking to a Brick Wall.

I hope Archbishop Vigano sees this article by Dr Alan Moy of the John Paul II Medical Research Institute.
Hugh Trimble,
That’s a great article and I agree with you – I hope Archbishop Vigano reads it. The following is very true, indeed, speaking about the way the Church authorities followed the secular authorities, without question:
“This has not only led to a lack of confidence in our public health institutions and healthcare system, but anger and lack of confidence among Catholics towards the Catholic Church for supporting this secular agenda.”
That is absolutely the case. I know that myself, and many others, now lack trust in our GPs and the NHS itself, as well as the pope, bishops and priests who went along with it all. It’s a truly shameful event in the life of the world and the Church.
Hugh Trimble,
Send it to Michael Matt at the Remnant or Maike Hickson. I’m pretty sure they are in e-contact with Abp Vigano – especially Maike Hickson
I honestly think that it will take a direct intervention from God, a real very obvious miraculous event, to waken this pope and bishops up – the loss of faith has gone too deep for anything less to put things right. The archbishop’s words were strong and righteous but he’s preaching to the blind, spiritually blind. They don’t think they’re doing anything wrong; modernism is their new religion (along with the “green” new religion) and people like Archbishop Vigano are seen as extremists. It’s completely upside down.
Nicky,
I couldn’t agree more – something straight from God, something unmistakeably miraculous, nothing less, is what it’s going to take to shake Francis and his followers out of their lethargy. As for “upside down” – that’s the sign of the diabolical, and that is what we are living through, Satan seeming to be winning the day. He won’t, we know that, but that’s the way it looks right now.
Sadly I agree that +Vigano’s message will get little or no response from Bishops, most of whom today are merely administrators not shepherd or leaders.
Most just just keep their heads down, to enjoy a quiet and privileged life. Covering up scandal is probably the main activity of many. Look at the Scottish Bishops – who could imagine more effete wallflowers than they? It is comical to even try to imagine one taking a hard line public stance on some issue.
Still, even if +Vigano moves the heart of even one Bishop globally, his effort will have been worthwhile.
Gabriel Syme,
“Most just keep their heads down…”
To which I would add, “out of fear of the Dictator Pope and his spies,” who, as some have said, are everywhere.

I will also offer my prayers too for the Australian reader.
Thanks, folks, for your promise of prayers for our Australian reader who tells me that she doesn’t mind being identified as our Australian blogger, Warydoom [who has been a long-time supporter of the Catholic Truth apostolate]. I’ll go in and post her username in my original notice.

RCA Victor,
Seeing the scandalous things this pope has said published in a list, brings home just how dreadful things are right now with him in the papal office. And then the examples of his sins by omission – what he didn’t say (and should have said), reinforces that sense of horror at this person sitting in the Chair of Peter. God help us all – and soon!
So, awful as it was to read that link, thank you for posting it.
